Minecraft Comes to Tabletops With Brand New Board Game
The celebration of all things Minecraft, MineCon, kicked off today and brought with it the announcement of Minecraft: Builders & Biomes, a new tabletop game based on Minecraft and developed in conjunction with Mojang.
Similar to the video game version, Minecraft: Builders & Biomes has players “explore the Overworld, build structures, and mine resources,” with points earned for “structures and the largest connected biomes.”
Check out the slideshow below for look at Minecraft: Builders & Biomes:
Mobs are also part of the tabletop Minecraft experience, with Creepers and Enderman (among others) appearing in the board game version. Ravensburger, the company behind Minecraft: Builders and Biomes, said successfully besting a mob earns “players points in addition to granting additional awards.”
How Dave Filoni’s Work on The Clone Wars Influenced The Mandalorian
All September long, IGN is highlighting the best TV coming your way in the 2019-2020 season. Today we’re featuring The Mandalorian, Disney’s first foray into a live-action Star Wars TV series, and one of the inaugural shows of the ambitious Disney+ streaming service launching on November 12. Created by Jon Favreau and set five years after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. We spoke to director and executive producer Dave Filoni about making his live-action directorial debut on the show, and what he learned from working on fan-favorite animated Star Wars series like The Clone Wars and Rebels that he applied to “Mando.” Plus, get a first look inside The Mandalorian’s ship, the Razor Crest, with our exclusive new photo.
Netflix’s The Witcher: All the Terminology You Need to Know
Still not sure about the difference between a Bruxa and a Striga? With Netflix’s The Witcher approaching faster than a teleporting Roach, we thought we’d put together a quick primer on some common terms, all straight from the books the show is based on.
Read on for all the Witcher terminology you need to know before the show debuts!
Witcher
First up, the most important… Witchers, of which our hero Geralt is one, are alchemically enhanced humans with incredible speed and strength, heightened senses, accelerated healing, and an extended lifespan. Witchers make their living as supernatural mercenaries and monster hunters. They also look great taking a bath. They’re basically like the Marvel mutants of this world. Think medieval Wolverine, but with swords instead of claws.

Everything We Know About Netflix’s Breaking Bad Movie, El Camino
It’s an Epilogue
In the trailer for the movie, we see a post-Breaking Bad Jesse washing up after his involuntary incarceration. We see the physical scars on his back and face as a result of Uncle Jack’s torture. Based on the various grimaces that Jesse gives, it seems that he has some psychological scars as well.
Beyond that, we don’t know too much. We see a photo of Andrea (who was killed by Todd) and her son Brock, who were Jesse’s last hope at having a normal, loving family. But most of the other scenes in the trailer are deliberately ambiguous. Jesse appears to be stalking or pursuing someone, but we can’t see who.
Here is the plot synopsis that Netflix has released about this “gripping thriller:”
“In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”
Clearly, Gilligan wants the audience to go into this movie with as few preconceptions as possible. We’re unlikely to get much more plot than what we already have before October 11.
