Marvel’s The Eternals is the “Most Sci-Fi” Movie of the Entire MCU

Marvel’s The Eternals, which hits theaters November 6, will sit fans down for a story that spans 7,000 years, introducing the the comic book beings known, respectively, as Eternals and Deviants.

Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani, who recently debuted his ripped physique, for his role as Kingo Sunen, spoke about the upcoming film with Entertainment Weekly, and how it’s likely to stand apart from the rest of the MCU.

“It’s really, really an epic,” Nanjiani said. “And it’s really such a science-fiction story. It’s a superhero story, but in some ways, it’s the most sci-fi of all the Marvel movies and it’s the most epic of all the Marvel movies.”

“And the story spans thousands of years. So it’s really not like any of the other Marvel movies.”

“And I don’t mean epic in the internet way,” Nanjiani added. “I mean epic in the old-school way…It doesn’t look like any of the other Marvel movies.”

Recently, Marvel’s own synopsis for The Eternals revealed how it connects to Avengers: Endgame, describing the movie’s heroes as “ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years.” Then, following the events of Avengers: Endgame, “an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.”
