All The News From Inside Xbox: New Xbox One Confirmed, Game Pass And Live Bundle, New Game Reveals At E3 2019

Everything in Xbox's future.

As with many of the Inside Xbox livestreams, the latest one had plenty of news and announcements that paint a clearer picture of Xbox's future. You may have heard about Sony revealing details on the next PlayStation console, but Microsoft has a new console of its own coming soon--an Xbox One S without a disc drive. The all-you-can-eat game downloading service Game Pass will get a new tier option that packs in Xbox Live Gold, and Gears 5 multiplayer will be shown very soon. What's probably the most exciting thing is head of Xbox Phil Spencer stating that Microsoft's E3 2019 presentation will feature "things nobody has seen before" from the company's new game studios.

If you want to watch the stream yourself, check it out here. Otherwise, read through all the good stuff we plucked out from Inside Xbox.

Now Playing: New Xbox One: The Pros And Cons Of Disc-Less

Xbox One S All-Digital Edition Confirmed

Rumors and leaks preceded this reveal, so it wasn't much of a surprise when Microsoft made the official announcement for its disc-less Xbox One S. The new version of the console will launch on May 7 for $250 USD and come bundled with Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, and Forza Horizon 3. It's built with the same exact specs as the Xbox One S, sans the disc drive of course.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Announced

Combining Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold into one subscription option has also been rumored for a while. Microsoft confirmed that it's bundling the two services and calling it Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which sensibly coincides with the all-digital Xbox One S announcement. While it's available for a few select users, it'll launch in full later this year for $15 a month.

Phil Spencer Says Big Things From New Studios Coming For E3 2019

Inside Xbox concluded with a few words from head of Xbox Phil Spencer. He affirmed Xbox's presence at E3 by saying, "We are the platform holder that has a live stage show...We're taking the responsibility of being out there representing gaming." He continued to say that some of Microsoft's newly acquired studios will have things to show that nobody has seen before.

Spencer Also Says He's Been Grinding In Destiny 2 Using Project xCloud

While Microsoft's cloud-based game streaming service Project xCloud is still in development, Spencer stated that he's been using a sort of alpha build himself. He said he's still trying to grind out light level 700 in Destiny 2 and has been doing strikes on his phone using an Xbox controller.

Gears 5 Multiplayer Reveal Coming Soon

The focus of the Gears 5 content during the Inside Xbox stream was esports. The Coalition's studio head Rod Fergusson stated that TBS's show ELeague will be doing a six-part series on the professional competitive scene for Gears of War in June, which will include a Gears 5 multiplayer reveal. A Gears 5 invitational competition will also take place in July, ahead of the game's release later this year.

Splinter Cell And Fable Games Get Xbox One X Enhancements

While we may not have a new game in the storied stealth-action franchise from the Tom Clancy extended universe, three last-gen Splinter Cell games just got Xbox One X Enhancements. Splinter Cell: Double Agent (Xbox 360 version), Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist now include enhanced visuals and resolution. The same treatment was extended to the RPGs Fable 2 and Fable 3.

Game Bar For PC Gets A Major Upgrade

PC gamers got a little bit out of the Inside Xbox stream as well; Windows 10 users are getting a significant update to Game Bar. It'll now be widget-based with modules that you can pop in and out to customize the things you want. For example, you can have chat volume mix, Spotify, and streaming accessible while staying in-game using the new Game Bar overlay.

Rage 2 Gameplay Walkthrough

Tim Willits, director at developer Avalanche Studios, walked us through a brief Rage 2 gameplay segment. Rage 2 is confirmed to feature the coveted, overpowered gun of Doom fame, the BFG 9000. There will also be Arcs, which are sci-fi-styled underground tombs with weapons and abilities to earn.

Xbox Fan Fest At E3 2019

Xbox Fan Fest will be expanding this year by offering 700 tickets. This grants you access to Microsoft's E3 stage presentation, hands-on with upcoming games, some swag, and much more. Tickets are acquired via random drawing and those 18 years old and up can enter starting April 19 at 9am PT--winners will be announced on April 25.

I get excited for E3 every year.

And Microsoft/Xbox is my superbowl.

I never watched Nintendo,

Bethesda always excited me too. And im embarrassed to admit I like Todd Howard.

But he is a TOTAL PHONY..

Like when announced ElderScrolls Blades " would be TOTALLY FREE TO PLAY"

and the sheople cheered... it made me angry & cringe.

Shows how disconnected the AAA industry(in Sir JimSterling voice) has become..

They think the fans/gamers want freemium garbage.. smh!

**Microsoft delivers a good show/ high production..

But they tend to under deliver..

They all show too much mediocre indie games that they make look amazing but aren't.

~Sony presentation is very weird and boring..

Then again im a gamer not a stock holder make believe employee of any of em.

So im neutral. I own Xbox,PC,Sony and Nintendo..

Nintendo doesn't have clearance to this ManCave so it gets living room Status.

I want to like Nintendo again. I started my gaming w/ NEW & SNES.

Whatevs, I still bought it & wife & daughter love it/Zelda

Xbox needs to show what all those studios they purchased are up to.

**Sea Of Thieves,,State of Decay 2,,Crackdown 3= all mediocre garbage..

All 3 we're rushed or in Crackdowns case= bad leadership as it was developed for 6+ years or something extreme.

*Sea o thieves wasn't even a game.. How did anyone @ Microsoft think it was fun?

~And my personal greatest disappointment was State of Decay 2...

The 1st SOD was so much fun for such a simple game/concept/map etc..

Breakdown was brilliant.. addicting and it was fun to get the absolute perfect group of survivors..

*I plan to return to State o Decay 2 @ some point in desperate hope it's more fun & that it was me that was struggling and not the game….

i want Microsoft to be epic but it['s exlusives are fancy mediocre incomplete games..

And Sony exlusives tend to be epic home runs.. this annoys me.

@sippio: Sony has epic exclusives because their studios have been together for 20+ years now. MS had that until "The Wrecking Ball" Don Mattrick closed down all of Microsoft Games Studios in favor of timed exclusives and Kinect. That guy single handedly did irreversible damage to the Xbox brand. They should take his first born child for that.

MS has also completely WASTED any talent that remained at Rare. Using them to make Kinect garbage! Is that any way to treat a legendary studio?

My fear is that MS will do what it has done many times before... Show a really awesome looking game too early, then cancel it and have nothing.

Personally, I think Obsidian is the only good studio they bought. Ninja Theory is mediocre because their games usually play clunky with odd controls. MS should have paid Remedy (Alan Wake) to stay making Xbox-only games, even if they couldn't acquire them outright. Their new game, Control, looks pretty sick. And all of the Alan Wake games, even the digital one, were all good. I still have Quantum Break in the wrapping, never touched it and I got it at launch, lol.

I hope they give a good price for the XBL and Game Pass combined service. I don't use Game Pass because it's not worth it to me, but if it was only a few bucks more per month than the standard Gold, I would probably get it. I only buy 12 month subs, so $15/month doesn't tell me much unless that's the only pricing.

@Vodoo: im same way VodooDude dodo

*I usually get em on black Friday from Target as they are around 1/2 price..

it kills me when i haveta drop $15 on one of em..

Netflix,,XboxGold,,PS+,,HumbleBundleMonthly,,Gamefly.. ugh!!!

I didn't ass XboxGamePass because not only is it not worth a yearly purchase but i keep getting it for $1..

i haven't paid full price yet..100% coincidence that when the month ends= there's a new $1 for 3 months or whatevs….

I still only BARELY used it for Warhammer Vermintide2.. and even that was casual... They need more then their own exlusives.

ESP since xbox exclusives like STateofDecay2,Crackdown3 & Sea of Thieves aren't worth playing even for free...

Nowadays most gamers are old enough to have a huge backlog of games they own.. SO it's not about price.

game quality & time..WIth limited time im not gonna pplay Sea o Thieves for 100 hours in the hope i get sucked in..

Xbox has problems..I think they are just like EA & Activision with rushing the developers with not enough resources & staff..

Those 3 games we're ALL imcomplete and boring and once or twice is coincidence but it's a trend now...

@sippio: You're able to get that $1 deal more than once? I thought it was a promo you could only buy once, or maybe that was the free month version?

The game quality on Game Pass is severely lacking. I got it to try Hitman because it came with all of the chapters available. Unfortunately, I didn't really like that Hitman game and there isn't much else.

I wish they would put all of the Xbox Originals on Game Pass. Even though there's only like 15 of them, they'd probably be the best games on Game Pass. I been wanting to play Star Wars Starfighter because somehow I missed it back in the day, but I don't know if it's good enough to charge $15 for. Frigin Disney and their overpriced everything. That game is pre-EA Star Wars exclusive btw.

@Vodoo: I agree. It will only be worth it if there is a an annual package that significantly lowers the monthly price

@alfz: Definitely. Nobody's going to pay $180/yr for Gold and Game Pass. It seems like Game Pass isn't doing to well if they keep offering a free month and then another 3 months for $1.

They're probably hoping kids forget to turn off the "Auto-Renew" feature so they can keep charging their parents. That was the first thing I did when I got the 3 months for $1.

@deviltaz35: i keep getting undecided which upgade to make. PS4 pro or Xbox X..

im giving wife old one of whatever i upgrade so we can MP on separate TV'S..

got 4k a year ago and haven'games 4k yet. bs!

I prefer PS4 ove Xbox but i still like Xbox..

BUT the X will be the better upgrade..

X is more expensive by almost double..

so this is why im 50/50 aka = a mess..

edit~ Taz35,,,are you old enough to have played 2005 Battlefront2 &/or Ghost Recon2 when they we're launched?

Both we epic. esp Battlefront2.. BF 1 was better but it was short on content. but 2 added that insanely addicting galactic conquest mode.... Im dying to know if that has xboxOneX enhancements & how it looks..

or any BC game w/ enhancements looks.. cmon Taz, kiss & tell, how was she???
