This long-awaited Lord of the Rings 4K box set came out in December of 2020 at a hefty $99.99. It subsequently dropped to $89.99 in a relatively short amount of time and stayed at that price until this month. This is probably an early Amazon Prime Day deal but you best jump on it now since the best Prime Day deals don’t last. This set includes 4K Ultra HD and digital versions of the LotR trilogy, including both theatrical and extended editions.

GameStop Will Have Xbox Series X|S Stock In Stores On June 16

GameStop has announced that it will refresh its stock of Xbox Series S and X consoles tomorrow, June 16, for customers to purchase in-store.

Quantities will be limited to one per person, with each customer able to trade-in their used games and accessories for “a huge trade offer” to offset the consoles’ price. GameStop’s official Twitter published a cheeky tweet referencing the availability of the Xbox Series S and X systems. The retailer also confirmed that it has refreshed its stock on Nintendo Switch consoles. It’s worth calling your local GameStop before heading down there to ensure either console is still available.

If you miss your chance to grab an Xbox Series X|S from GameStop, we have an inventory tracker that we update regularly as more consoles become available. We also track PS5 restocks, which continue to sell out quickly.

All three consoles–the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S–have been hard to come by, due to the global semiconductor shortage affecting every industry. President Biden announced plans to investigate the issue earlier this year, and recently, a bill that was passed by the Senate to improve the semiconductor shortage is now on its way to the House.

Fortnite Spray Cans: Where To Collect Spray Cans In Dirty Docks And Pleasant Park

You’ll need to find spray cans this week in Fortnite as part of the Fortnite Week 2 challenges. Spray cans are an item that will only appear on the map so long as your related Epic Quest is active, and though there are eight to be found across Pleasant Park and Dirty Docks, you’ll ultimately only need to know two Fortnite spray can locations to complete the challenge and earn 30,000 XP. Here’s where to collect spray cans from warehouses in Dirty Docks or garages in Pleasant Park.

Fortnite Spray Cans In Pleasant Park

The convenient thing about this challenge is that there are eight spray cans available on the map, but you’ll finish it off much sooner after just two spray cans are collected. Not only that, but the cans are evenly split across Pleasant Park and Dirty Docks, with four in each location, so you actually won’t even need to venture to the second locale once you’ve found two at the spot of your choosing.

Because every match is different and the best drops are often based on where the Battle Bus is heading, we’ll still show you all eight spots anyway, beginning in Pleasant Park.

  • in the garage of the northeastern house
  • outside the garage on the southwest house with the basement bulkhead doors.
  • near the washing machine in the three-story house just south of the one mentioned above
  • in the biggest house along the western road of Pleasant Park

Fortnite Spray Cans In Dirty Docks

If instead, you drop into Dirty Docks, there await four more spray cans for you to find and quickly finish one of many Week 2 challenges. Here’s where to look in Dirty Docks.

  • in the west-of-center warehouse near some orange shelves
  • in the centermost warehouse, once more near some orange shelves
  • in the large, eastside warehouse near yellow shelves
  • in the southern warehouse and under the bottom-floor stairs
Dirty Docks spray can locations

Remember, don’t overdo it. You only need any two of these spray cans, so it’s likely you won’t even have to leave whichever place you visit first–unless an IO guard or another player spoils your XP-chasing. While you’re on such a quest, be sure to check out the full range of Week 2 challenges, which also include guides for things like how to enter a UFO and where to find IO tech weapons so you can do damage with them this week. There’s also a new collection of Alien Artifacts to aid you in further customizing Kymera from the Season 7 Battle Pass.

Deviation Games Says Its PlayStation Exclusive Will Be “Big In Scope”

Deviation Games says its upcoming PlayStation exclusive will be “big in scope.” The brand new studio, set up by former Treyarch developers Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell, made its first appearance during last week’s Summer Game Fest kickoff event by announcing that it’s working on a “groundbreaking” new IP for Sony.

“Make no mistake: This game is gonna be big in scope,” CEO Anthony said in a recent interview with Eurogamer. Deviation has already been working on the game for over a year at this point and has over 100 people on staff. The game’s still a ways out, though, and Anthony is keen to hire more developers to continue building up the studio with the right people and the right culture.

Now Playing: Best Trailers from Summer Games Fest 2021

With the game being this far out, Deviation and Sony are keeping tight-lipped on any specifics, even when it comes to platforms. With that said, PlayStation Studios’ Hermen Hulst is clearly excited to talk about the potential of the new partnership. “Together we’re bringing a new IP that’s bold, that stands on the shoulders of what these guys have learned over their careers that speak for themselves,” Hulst said. “We’re always looking to offer fresh new experiences to the audience, to the PlayStation community. It’s also an honour for me as the head of PlayStation Studios to find a group like Jason, Dave, and their team to work with us.”

Even if it’s too early to go into any details, Anthony and Blundell’s pedigree with first-person shooters does make it easy to speculate that this new IP would follow a similar path. Factor in the first-person shooter-sized gap in PlayStation’s portfolio, and it would make sense for Deviation to fill it.

Game Builder Garage Is Available Now With A Free Demo

Game Builder Garage, Nintendo’s game design tool and teacher, is now available on Nintendo Switch and has a free demo to try out the game. The demo contains the first interactive lessons from the game which should provide a basic lesson in game design.

Game Builder Garage takes one of the smaller features of Nintendo Labo–the cardboard DIY game–and turns it into a full toolset. Labo had the Toy-Con Garage, which allowed you to tinker with the minigames and create small ones of your own using Labo. Game Builder Garage takes that and expands it into an all-digital, cardboard-free experience, where you can create your own games and play other people’s creations.

Game Builder Garage is available now for $30 USD. The Nintendo Direct presentation for E3 2021 happened earlier today, showcasing Breath of the Wild 2, Metroid Dread, Warioware: Get It Together, and more.

Xbox Console Exclusive The Medium Coming To PS5 This September

Bloober Team’s psychological horror game The Medium will make its way to PS5 on September 3 with full DualSense support, Sony has confirmed. It’s unclear if the game will launch on PS4 as well, which may be unlikely since it didn’t arrive on Xbox One alongside PC and Series X|S either.

The PlayStation maker revealed the news in a new trailer on YouTube. The minute-and-a-half-long video is entirely composed of cutscenes from the game, with a few pull quotes interspersed. The trailer claims that The Medium is “more immersive than ever” thanks to the DualSense, but Sony hasn’t specified how the game takes advantage of the controller’s features.

The Medium has been a massive success for Polish studio Bloober Team, becoming profitable just a few days after launch and carving out a spot on Steam’s top-selling games of January 2021.

Developed by the team behind Blair Witch and the Layers of Fear franchise, The Medium launched on Xbox Series X|S and PC earlier this year. We awarded the game a 9/10 in our The Medium review, praising the game’s use of subtext and how its themes weave together with its gameplay.

“The Medium’s conclusion sticks with you; it’s one last horrifying reminder that trauma may not define a person, but it can have consequences we can’t even begin to foresee if it’s not adequately dealt with and simply left to fester over time,” associate editor Jordan Ramée wrote in his review. “I can’t say I enjoyed the ending to The Medium, but I am deeply satisfied with how it sets up the inescapable nature of its horrifying conclusion.”

Battlefield 2042 Will Put Bots In Matches If They Don’t Fill Up With People

With the promise of 128 player matches on current-gen consoles, Battlefield 2042 would need a consistently high player count to make sure players always have an enemy to fire at. Since that’s not possible to guarantee, developer DICE has thought of a way around the issue: lots of bots.

According to a post on EA’s website, Battlefield 2042 will be keeping servers constantly packed using AI soldiers. That being said, there isn’t a guarantee that you’ll be going up against bots in every match. AI soldiers will be “used for server-filling capabilities, ensuring your matches remain full, no matter your location.” In other words, if your server can be filled with 128 real players, they will be.

It’s worth noting that on last-gen consoles, players likely won’t see as many bots thanks to a lower player count. On the PS4 and Xbox One, games of conquest and breakthrough will only go up to 64 players, as opposed to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, which can house up to 128 per match.

The inclusion of AI soldiers should be more of a boon to players far into the future when a majority of the game’s player base has moved onto another game. Likewise, anyone looking to play Battlefield 2042 into the early hours of the morning during the week or during any other dips in player count should expect to see bots filling up their lobbies.

Besides filling up lobbies, Battlefield 2042’s multiplayer experience will benefit from bots in a couple of other ways through other game modes. Anyone playing the game’s co-op mode will be able to squad up with some friends and take on a horde of enemy AI soldiers. Likewise, Battlefield 2042 will also have a solo mode, perfect for trying out new weapons or loadouts against AI soldiers only.

Battlefield 2042 is currently set to release on October 22, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

As previously revealed by Call of Duty’s Season 4 roadmap, Black Ops Cold War’s new season will launch with a limited-time “Ground Fall” event, which will have players find and secure SAT-Links to score exclusive rewards. A new battle pass will be available with 100 Tiers to progress through, alongside new multiplayer maps of Collateral, Hijacked, and Amsterdam.

Zombies

Treyarch also announced today that alongside the new Zoo map, Outbreak’s “Operation Excision” storyline quest will be unlocked for players at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on June 17. This storyline quest will allow players to uncover more of the Dark Aether storyline, as the events of the quest will serve as the prologue to the next round-based survival map “Mauer der Toten” coming later in the season.
