Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Vs Modern Warfare - Which Is Better?

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, are both in the same franchise, but are two very different shooter experiences. How does Cold War compare to 2019's Modern Warfare, and which one is the better game?

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the latest game in Activision's first-person shooter series, and it takes the franchise back to the 1980s for a period-set shooter full of espionage thrills. But how does it compare to the previous game in the series, 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare?

In the video above, Dave Jewitt and Richie Bracamonte compare the two games across three topics: multiplayer, campaign, and the battle between the Spec Ops and Zombies modes. From a multiplayer standpoint, Cold War provides a more arcadey Call of Duty experience compared to the Battlefield-inspired action of Modern Warfare.

Dave and Richie also break down the two games' single-player campaigns and discuss the merits of Black Ops Cold War's replayability versus Modern Warfare's rejuvenation of the Call of Duty campaign. And finally, the pair compare the maligned Spec Ops mode from Modern Warfare with Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode, discussing which of the two modes they prefer.

For me it´s not about MW vs Cold War.
It´s about $60 vs $70.

It´s just too expensive. $10 makes a lot of difference specially if you plan to play more than one game a year. This is getting ridiculous. Not only have we faced two economy crisis but also these publishers and console makers are trying to convince us that games are way more expensive to make now then during last gen and that´s quite frankly lie.

And even if that is so, then games should be priced based on their production costs other then some standard price that is applied to the latest NBA and Fifa game as well as a game like Cyberpunk.

I bought a PS5 but I won´t be buying any game about $60. I hope many do the same so the industry understands that the price increase is simply not acceptable.

@joalopes: Though I HATE the idea of developers pushing higher standard price tags with this new gen (70 compared to 60):

COD MW was the best $60 value I've spent on any game in many years. It was well worth the price because of the new maps we got throughout the year (now there's over 30 maps with bot support)

BO CW will be a great value to me as well because of this, a great deal for only $60 or even $70 to me.

Many years ago, map packs would cost $30 or so and only come with 4 maps or so, driving game life prices to over $200. I am all for free maps and modes because they make more money off of cosmetics that are not required and I do not have to spend on (though I enjoyed variations earned with Battle Pass through MW, especially since I never had to pay the full $10 price tag for them either thanks to earning COD points to use toward my Pass purchase)

I do however think it BS that Treyarch wants $10 more for PS5 / X upgrades
