History Of The Terminator Movies

From The Terminator to Terminator: Dark Fate, let's take a look back at all the Terminator films and how James Cameron created the concept for the iconic sci-fi franchise.

James Cameron had a dream, which led him to write the screenplay for The Terminator. Cameron initially wanted Lance Henriksen to play the role of the Terminator, but the iconic T-800 was eventually played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Linda Hamilton played the lead role of Sarah Connor, and has since returned (along with Arnold) for the latest film, Terminator: Dark Fate. In the video above, Dave Klein goes into detail about how the first film in the Terminator franchise came to be, and the sequels and prequels that followed.

The Terminator (1984) lead to five more movies in the series - Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), Terminator Salvation (2009), Terminator Genisys (2015), and Terminator: Dark Fate (2019).

GameSpot also interviewed the cast and director of Terminator: Dark Fate, in which they discussed Working With James Cameron, Working With Arnold and Linda, Would The Cast Return For Sequels?, and Dark Fate's Controversial Opening Scene Explained By Director Tim Miller.
