How Games Are Lying To Us About Silencers - Loadout

Whether it's protruding from the barrel of James Bond's Walther PPK in GoldenEye 007 or being gently screwed on to Snake's SOCOM in Metal Gear Solid, video games and movies love to use the suppressor. But did you know that suppressors, or silencers, as they’re more commonly known, are in fact anything but “silent.” In reality, the pop culture silencer as we know it is a myth, and here’s why. It's not even called a "silencer" but usually called a suppressor.

@nefphlegm: thank you I don't mean to be rude or talk down about anybody. I just rely a lot on links to blogs and discussions cause my service can't always load videos. But as so people can make mistakes even being a professional. Maybe this was his first mistake. I do apologize for assuming.

If you use a .22LR rifle or pistol with a long silencer and sub sonic ammo, it is quiet. Like, super quiet.

Sub sonic ammunition is really cool and fun when shooting a silenced weapon.

@nefphlegm: I deleted mine but I have no idea where yours went. You'd think they'd have deleted my comment before yours

@cnewberry665: Probably when the message was deleted it removed the following responses. For what it's worth I agree with your deleted comment about holding a standard to professionals. Take care.
