It Chapter 2 Spoiler Review: A Messy Finale

How does It Chapter Two compare to Chapter 1, the original 1990 It miniseries, and the novel? Chris and Meg give their spoiler filled review of the new horror movie sequel starring Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, and Bill Skarsgard.

It Chapter 2 is finally here. The Losers Club has returned to Derry, Maine to face off against Pennywise the Dancing Clown 27 years after their original victory to finish it off once and for all. But does the finale live up to the hype? Chris and Meg break down their spoiler-filled feelings about the end of It--the good, the bad, and the frustrating.

With a cast that manages to capture every bit of the chemistry that the kids had and a few new interesting ideas that keep the story mostly afloat, It Chapter 2 is the definition of a mixed bag. You'll still love the Losers Club, even now that they're all in their 40s, and you'll still absolutely want them to win--but the meandering path the movie takes to arrive at those final fights gets tedious and occasionally confusing.

But Pennywise itself is still just as horrifying and unsettling as it was back in the 80s, and still manages to terrify the adult Losers just as thoroughly as it did the kids, so that's certainly saying something.

Great video! Thanks for highlighting some of the details I missed cause I haven't read the book or seen the original series.

The film is kinda disappointing after the first one was so good, but a lot of the character stuff really works. I loved the scene where Bill Skarsgard puts on the makeup and becomes Pennywise, that whole sequence with Beverly is probably my favourite scene.
