I still can’t remember the names of the characters beyond Burnham and Captain Pike. Even the engineer with the very white screen who I thinks does a superb job doesn’t have a name I can remember.

If this goes to season 3, I’m curious where they will take the show even though the second half of season 2 got tiring.

Is ‘yum yum’ a Starship Troopers reference?

Obviously TNG & Voyager are classics and never forgotten, but Discovery has it's own unique style and feel too and makes me just want more and more. The acting and story are outstanding too and imo, the visuals are breathtaking.

I think after watching this last episode of Season 2 today, it is my favourite series of all the Star Trek franchise. I can't wait for season 3 :)

@openmind23: Voyager is a classic? No Mention of Deep Space 9?

What sort of blasphemy is this?

@uninspiredcup: For me Voyager is a classic. I too like DS9 and anything Trek, but we all have different favourites. If your Fav is DS9, that's cool :)

This is a fairly good summary and critique. I like the approach that you each have to Star Trek in general, and Discovery in particular. Maybe it was due to time, but there were a lot more references to past Treks than you mentioned. (For example, the view of San Francisco was very similar to that from ST:TMP.) One thing that I would have liked to have heard more about from you was your reaction to the "let's not talk about it" approach to solve canon concerns. I'm still working through that one myself! Thanks for your work this season!!

This series is not worth continuing for the 10 people left watching it.

@PETERAKO: right it's so bad they had to move the time to attempt to disrupt the orvill.

@ccgod: PETERAKO: CBS has not changed the drop time for Discovery at any time this season. Perhaps you are thinking of some other show?

@randyholland: they changed it from the first season so now it overlaps with the Orville

@ccgod: Yes, the day changed from Sunday to Thursday for Season 2. But it overlapped only if you lived in the Eastern or Central time zones in the US. In the Pacific time zone The Orville broadcast two and a half hours after Discovery was over if one tuned in when each was first available. The implication that CBS was performing counter-programming with a streaming show and in that situation is not compelling (to me at least).

I can't get myself to watch the last two episodes of this crap. Season 2 is definitely better than 1 in so many ways, but it is the way EVERYTHING in the story, in every scene and so on has to revolve around Michael Burnham. I am so fed up seing her in this series, that it kills my every motivation to keep watching and like anything about this show. Seriously give Spock some more screentime and something to do at all, do the same with Captain Pike, both characters are really portrayed well, but they are redused to nothing in the light of the all-knowing, all-resvolving Michael Burnham. If this continues next season i will stop rather stop watching sooner than later

@knolddasker: Captain Pike is off the show and season one's story and characters were stolen from a green lit steam game so probably why it's bad.
