Glee and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has signed a five year deal with Netflix, reported to be worth $300 million, which will come into effect when his contract with 20th Century Fox expires on July 1.
Anonymous sources disclosed the value of the deal to the New York Times, and if accurate, it will be among the biggest deals ever made for a TV producer.
Netflix has already picked up Murphy’s The Politician and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest prequel, Ratched. Meanwhile, Murphy’s current line-up at Fox – including American Horror Story, American Crime Story, and Feud – will continue to air on FX.
