Warner Bros. Boss Says DC Films on ‘Right Track’

Kevin Tsujihara, chairman and chief executive officer of Warner Bros., feels the DC Extended Universe is on the “right track” by focusing less on a shared universe, and more on individual characters.

In an interview with LA Times, Tsujihara said “The upcoming slate, with Shazam!, Joker, Wonder Woman 1984 and Birds of Prey, feels like we’re on the right track. We have the right people in the right jobs working on it. The universe isn’t as connected as we thought it was going to be five years ago.

“You’re seeing much more focus on individual experiences around individual characters. That’s not to say we won’t at some point come back to that notion of a more connected universe. But it feels like that’s the right strategy for us right now.”

Fortnite Season 8 Week 1 Secret Battle Star Location (Discovery Challenge Guide)

Season 8 of Fortnite is officially underway, and a lot has changed in the hit battle royale game. There are new areas of the island to explore, as well as a slew of new skins and cosmetics to unlock.

But as they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same, and that holds especially true for Fortnite. Just as in seasons past, Epic Games will be rolling out new challenges to complete every week in Season 8. Clear these and you’ll be rewarded with Battle Stars, which in turn will level your Battle Pass up and unlock the new Season 8 skins and rewards.

On top of that, if you finish all of the challenges from a given week, you’ll complete one of Fortnite’s Discovery challenges–this season’s equivalent of the Snowfall challenges from Season 7. Each Discovery challenge you complete will reward you with a special loading screen, which contains a clue pointing you to a free item hiding somewhere around the island.

Week 1’s challenges are now live across all platforms, and if you manage to finish all of them, you’ll unlock the loading screen pictured above. This one features a crew of pirates aboard the giant shipped docked at Lazy Lagoon, one of the new areas introduced this season. Look closely at the background, however, and you’ll be able to spot a Battle Star atop one of the buildings on shore.

Lazy Lagoon can be found in the northern portion of the map, to the west of the giant volcano. Glide to the area at the start of a match and locate the building pictured in the loading screen. Make your way to the top of its tower and the Battle Star will appear, just as teased. Collect it and you’ll level your Battle Pass up by one tier. We’ve marked its location on the map below, and you can see exactly where you need to go in the video at the top of this guide.

As in previous seasons, there are a couple of caveats you need to keep in mind before you can get this Battle Star. It won’t appear on the island unless you’ve completed enough challenges and unlocked the aforementioned loading screen, so you can’t simply go to the right area and expect to collect it unless you’ve put in all the necessary work.

Fortunately, thanks to the new Party Assist feature, which allows all players in a party to contribute progress toward challenges when enabled, it should be easier than ever to complete tasks in Season 8. Epic has even added a ping system copied from Apex Legends. You can read about all of the other changes the studio has made to the game in the full update 8.0 patch notes. Some Notable Faces Are Missing From These Game of Thrones Posters

HBO has revealed the final character posters for Game of Thrones Season 8, and as well as serving as a handy reminder of which players are still alive, it also features a couple of notable omissions that may or may not offer a hint about how the final season will play out.

Check out the new posters below:

The usual suspects are there – it’s no surprise to see Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jon Snow (aka Aegon Targaryen) lounging on the Iron Throne – but HBO certainly wants us to entertain the possibility that the White Walkers could triumph with the inclusion of the Night King in the lineup.

The new posters also give characters who have no interest in ruling (like Arya and Ser Davos) a chance to test out that cold and pointy perch, and, let’s face it, a promotional poster is probably as close as Samwell Tarly or Jorah Mormont are likely to get to the seat of power in Westeros.

Here’s How the Alien: Isolation Digital Series Got Started

In 2014, developer Creative Assembly released Alien: Isolation, a survival-horror game set 15 years after Ellen Ripley destroyed the Nostromo in the 1979 film. Five years after its debut, the game’s story about Amanda Ripley is being expanded with a new digital series using a combination of new animations and original cinematic cutscenes from the game.

The game — and now the series — centers on Ellen’s daughter, Amanda, who is searching for what really happened to her mother. When the Nostromo’s flight recorder is discovered by a deep-space salvage team, Amanda journeys to Sevastopol Station, which leads her on a terrifying adventure filled with deadly aliens and murderous androids. You can binge all 7-episodes exclusively on IGN right here. For a glimpse at what’s in store, watch the first episode below:

Ghost Giant Wants to Blend Slapstick and Sadness

I wouldn’t say it’s the best piece of VR content I’ve played, but certainly my most fondly remembered is a scene during PlayStation Worlds’ ‘The London Heist’ where you’re forced to sit down in a pub while an East End mob boss just talks at you for ages. I love it because, while he drones on about someone called French Tony, the game just stops paying attention to what you’re doing. You’re at this table with a lighter, a cigar, a phone and more, and no one tells you can’t just throw them at this guy. So you do. I’ve spent more time than I’d care to admit laughing as I bounce that phone off his forehead, or pretend to set fire to his groin. It’s a pure, inconsequential act of messing about. I love it.
