Nintendo Switch Could Get More Monster Hunter Games, But Not The One You Want

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is scheduled to come to Nintendo Switch on August 28, but everyone wants to know if 2018's critically acclaimed Monster Hunter World could have a future on the console as well. According to Siliconera, Capcom responded to the question in a Q&A session held after the company's 39th shareholders meeting.

Turns out the answer is a resounding "no." Though disappointing, Capcom has its reasons. Monster Hunter World is literally too large a game for Nintendo Switch. Capcom did follow up with the announcement that the Switch might see another Monster Hunter game, something other than Generations Ultimate, added to its library, though.

Now Playing: Nintendo Switch Is Finally Getting Monster Hunter In The West - GameSpot Daily

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is the expanded version of 2015's Monster Hunter Generations for 3DS. We gave the original game an 8/10. In our Monster Hunter Generations review, Justin Haywald said, "After dozens of hours I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of this adventure--there are other weapons and Hunter Art combinations I want to try, and of course, there are many more monsters to hunt. With Monster Hunter you get out what you put into the game, and Monster Hunter Generations is a game that compels me to put in more of my time."

Even if it's not coming to Switch, Monster Hunter World is getting an update on Xbox One and PS4. On July 13, the game's summer event, titled Summer Twilight Fest, brings new quests, limited-time bounties, and aesthetic changes to the action RPG. Monster Hunter World comes to PC this fall.

@aross2004: But what about Resident Evil 6? Street Fighter V? MvC: Infinite? Dead Rising 3? Street Fighter x Tekken? Megaman Universe? Megaman Legends 3? Megaman Mania? Sammy vs. Capcom? Final Fight: Streetwise?

And since it IS Capcom, something could still happen with REmake 2 between now and it's release date that will royally piss off the fans. It usually does.

As a dude who has a PC and will get World for that, I think it's awesome that Switch gets a different MH. I played Gen a lot on 3DS, so I'm not sure I'm getting the Switch version, but if I feel like having MH on the go again, I'm glad it's not World.

Okay Article Writer, So now World for my Switch eh? That's okay, I still get Hunter Arts, Hunter Skills that changes the game play, I can play as my Palico, Events aren't running on a time limited, Hey Look I can still do the Zelda and Metroid even on my 3DS, Because events are downloaded to my save file, What? Oh look if I have to leave the house I can take it with me, I can't take my PS4 with me.......... What? I won't have the options that made Monster Hunter easier in Worlds, Not like Generations added things for make it easier and the best part is, That's optional.

I guarantee there will be switch owners asking if cyberpunk 2077 is coming to switch... it's a bit ridiculous.

The Swtich came out so much later than the PS4 and XOne, i think it's already a second console for most of its users. Missing out on titles like this will only affect a small number of people. Obviously a shame for those users where it is the only option though.

Good. Those nintendo fans was pretty andamant they dont want world and want old style MH judging by those butthurt reddit posts back when it was announced its not coming to nintendo.

If its to large than it just goes to show you that Nintendo screwed up on making the switch. The concept is great cor the switch but they honestly could have added a lot more power to the the San console. If it would of been in between xbox one and ps4 than it would of had 3ven more 3rd party support

@jako998: I don't like this idea that all three consoles have to be identical to be competitive. I mean, I'd rather third party developers develop for the Switch, not just make a game and then bash it around until it works on as many consoles as possible.
