Anyone expecting Cyberpunk to be anything other than 18+ is seriously deluded.

I would be a little disappointed if this game wasn't 18+ tbh.

@merkkrai: Better for sales if it is 18+. Or do the kiddies have problems buying 18+ games? Do stores actual card them for games? If stores do, then I guess 18+ would be deathblow for sales.

Company builds massive credibility with Witcher series.

Launches 18+ game because every retailer will stock it because it will sell like hotcakes.

This will be the most significant mainstream influencer for adult-targeted video games since Mortal Kombat and Doom.

@ccgod: And years before that, in the home computer era of the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64, one publisher went out their way to get some adventure games rated 18 by the BBFC to try and boost sales.

@ccgod: I don't know if that would've gone as far as it did if Night Trap were the only offender. Night Trap didn't really show much and nobody played it. Not even the people complaining about it actually played it (if they did, I don't know that this would've went anywhere on its own). It didn't even sell half a million copies by 1998. What scared people about Night Trap was that you saw real people in it. I think Mortal Kombat stole that show as by contrast, virtually everybody played Mortal Kombat at some point... whether you owned it, a friend owned it, you rented it, you saw an arcade machine of it, whatever... Mortal Kombat was everywhere. 3 months after its first wave of home ports, the first hearing on video game violence was held.
