Sooo Ori looks legit, and 'hopefully' Battletoads won't suck.

Everything else? Ughck... nooo thank you. I really hope Phil Spencer's initiative to buy up all those new studios pays off next gen - cause it has suuuucked to be an Xbox fan this round.

Ori, Cuphead, and Battletoads have me pretty excited. I don't even really care about AAA games anymore. Too much story and not enough gameplay.

@PrimusTool: The blind forest was way better than most AAA games it was just great, cant wait for the new Ori. Cuphead was another marvelous game and I also cannot wait. I hope they do right by Battletoads.

@craigtl: Yea I'm finally getting around to playing Ori on Gamepass and it's pretty great! I think I enjoyed Celeste a little more so far though. It's a shame my gamepass expires soon. I don't think I'm going to have enough time to finish it in the next 3 days.

@PrimusTool: sometimes I let the game pass expire because they are always running a promotion where you can get a month for like a dollar if you are not subscribed.

Bunch of duds. Flopdown looks mediocre at best. The only reason there's a few people excited about it is because there's nothing else to play or look forward too on x flop.

@onehitta323: PS4 announced games in 2019 look awful by comparison... 3 niche games aimed at the Japanese market, Days Gone and Spelunky 2. Wow.

@onehitta323: Crackdown has only done well due to the fun factor. Gears is always great. If you think Ori and Cuphead are flops you obviously never played them.

Crackdown looks terrible imo and I’m bored of Gears and have no interest playing “Kait Diaz” as main protagonist.

I am however really looking forward to the Ori sequel and the Cuphead expansion. Also excited to see what Battletoads ends up being (hopefully good).

That said it’s still got nothing on the PS4 or Switch exclusive lineup imo.

@boardsport311: What is confirmed on PS4 for 2019? Isn't it only Days gone so far? Crackdown is actually surprisingly well received by those that have played it... Gamesradar are very impressed;

It's a pretty good line up tbh, but like you I'm probably looking more forward to ori 2 than anything else.

@sealionact: I hope Crackdown is legit good I just don’t have high hopes from the constant delays and the footage that I’ve seen. Hope I’m wrong.

For PS4 I’m talking about Ghosts of Tsushima, Days Gone, Nioh 2 and the assumption that Last of Us 2 and Death Stranding are released this year.

I hope Crackdown 3 is good, but other than that, there isn't much here that looks amazing. I think we'll have to wait till nextgen before we see what XBox can really achieve.

It's....still not very impressive.

We see a list of different shooters, an open world game being morphed into an online game, a couple of smaller games, and whatever Battletoads takes from it's source material.

There are some desirable games there, but I'm not seeing anything particularly unique. There's no Spider-Man or Horizon on this list.

@alfz: Compared to 2018 it looks great, but the nature of these games doesn't feel particularly unique. Lot's O'shooters in a world full of shooters. Does anyone think Gears 5 is something revolutionary?

Crackdown 3 appears it's going more multiplayer. I'm hoping it fixes the problems that Crackdown had with content, but if it's going shooter then probably not.

Ori, I'm interested, but it looks more like a big-budget version of an an indie platformer.

Cuphead, again fine, but we're not talking huge new experiences.

And we dont' know anything about Battletoads, a game which was not good originally. Battletoads on the NES was like a big-budget summer blockbuster which everybody saw but wasn't very good. It was released at the same time as Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and they both have the same quality problem. But even if it was a good NES game, just saying you're doing Battletoads doesn't mean much in this generation. Is a retro beat em' up? Is it doing more? Can't say anything yet.

I'm happy to see Microsoft trying harder, but while they have more, they don't have a winner.
