Level-5, the studio behind popular series like Yo-Kai Watch, Professor Layton, and Ni No Kuni, has teased what lies ahead for the developer as it celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
According to Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino, the studio’s next game will have a “modern day” setting, rather than a fantasy one, with an ambitious scale akin to that of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).
“We do have an idea. I’m not sure if we can call it an MMORPG or not, but
to make a big title on the same scale as one,” Hino said in the latest installment of 4Gamer.net‘s interview series Harada Kills (via Gematsu).
