This review contains spoilers for My Hero Academia Season 4, episode 5, “Let’s Go, Gutsy Red Riot.”
The previous episode of My Hero Academia, “Fighting Fate” was the highpoint of the season so far, opening with some clever exposition and quick twists, and ending with an extended conversation between Deku and All Might that left us all feeling drained and moved in equal measure. However, the one thing Episode 4 lacked was a good, engaging fight scene. And so, almost as a way of rectifying that, Episode 5, “Let’s Go, Gutsy Red Riot” explodes out of the gate with an exhilarating midnight kaiju brawl. Two larger-than-life fighters have taken their disagreement to the streets and are wreaking havoc, Godzilla style, before quickly being dispatched by two heroes-in-training.
