In Apple’s September 8 court filing, the tech company is now seeking damages from Epic over breach of contract. “Although Epic portrays itself as a modern corporate Robin Hood, in reality it is a multi-billion dollar enterprise that simply wants to pay nothing for the tremendous value it derives from the App store,” the company stated in the filing.
In addition to wanting Epic’s external payment system permanently stopped and removed, Apple wants all earnings and profits generated as a result of Epic making it possible for players to bypass the App store’s payment system. Apple also claimed that it has been “injured in its business and has suffered damages, loss of goodwill and product image, and other harm.”
Apple’s filing is in response to Epic’s preliminary injunction against Apple to get Fortnite back on the App store. Epic’s Apple developer account was terminated on August 28, and prior to that, Epic’s appeal for a restraining order was partially denied. The judge ruled that Apple will not be forced to put Fortnite back in stores, but also that Apple cannot touch Epic’s Unreal Engine, which is used by many other developers.
After Apple terminated Epic’s development account, the company told GameSpot, “We are disappointed that we have had to terminate the Epic Games account on the App Store. We have worked with the team at Epic Games for many years on their launches and releases. The court recommended that Epic comply with the App Store guidelines while their case moves forward, guidelines they’ve followed for the past decade until they created this situation. Epic has refused. Instead they repeatedly submit Fortnite updates designed to violate the guidelines of the App Store. This is not fair to all other developers on the App Store and is putting customers in the middle of their fight. We hope that we can work together again in the future, but unfortunately that is not possible today.”
Both Apple and Epic are not backing down, and it’s likely that Fortnite will not be on an iOS device anytime soon. You can read GameSpot’s full explanation on what is exactly going on in Apple and Epic’s lawsuit.

Jason Momoa has just expressed his solidarity with Justice League co-star Ray Fisher, who over the summer made allegations of “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” mistreatment while filming with Joss Whedon on that movie. In a tweet back in July, Fisher said Whedon was “enabled, in many ways, by [producers] Geoff Johns and Jon Berg.”
Momoa posted an Instagram story on Tuesday with a photo of Fisher bearing the caption “IStandWithRayFisher.” Whedon has not yet publicly commented on the accusations, nor has Fisher elaborated on what conduct comprised the above patterns of behavior, but Berg told Variety that it was “categorically untrue that we enabled any unprofessional behavior.”
Over the weekend, Fisher tweeted about his meeting with a Warner Bros. investigator, and how he wants to “ensure a fair and protected process for all witnesses.”
Thank you all for the support and for seeing through @wbpictures desperate and scattershot attempt to discredit me to continue protecting those in power.
I met with the investigator via Zoom on Aug 26th. Below is an email I sent to my team and @sagaftra immediately after:
This is not the only recent reason that Justice League has been making headlines again: Momoa (Aquaman) and Fisher (Cyborg) are among those returning for Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League–a director’s cut of the comics adaptation that Whedon wound up stepping in and completing when personal issues on Snyder’s part prevented his involvement in completing the production. The four-part series isexpected to hit HBO Max in 2021.
Bungie has rolled out a new update for Destiny 2 on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One that tweaks how Perks operate and are consumed. The full patch notes for Update 2.9.2 are detailed below.
Perks that give ability energy upon Super activation–think Apotheosis Veil, Radiant Largesse, and the like–will now initiate after Super energy is consumed. This means these perks will no longer be free, instead being consumed so players can no longer exploit the way perks used to provide additional ability energy by canceling a Super during warm-up.
Update 2.9.2 also makes a number of gameplay adjustments, including displaying the correct Power level required to complete the “Become Legend” step of the New Light quest, making Redrix’s Broadsword reclaimable from Collections, fixing issues with Trials vendor engrams, and more.
Elsewhere, the patch addresses some issues with armor and weapons. For example, Transmutation Spheres can’t be picked up by players whose Super abilities are active when the Ruinous Effigy is equipped. And the Solstice of Heroes’ glow intensity has been increased.
Full Destiny 2 Update 2.9.2 Patch Notes
Activities
Gambit
Fixed an issue that caused players to freeze when spawning into Gambit.
Prophecy Dungeon
Fixed an issue where enemies could stop spawning in the Hexahedron area, blocking players from progressing.
Nightfall
Fixed an issue where enemies would stop responding to players if they carried motes from a Contact event into the Savathun’s Song or Festering Core Nightfall.
Gameplay and Investment
Investment
Fixed an issue where players who completed Tommy’s Matchbook catalyst pursuit were re-awarded it.
Fixed an issue where the Trials vendor engram advertised rewards at zero Power level.
Note: This was simply a display error; the actual Power you would receive was not affected.
Fixed an issue where the Cold Denial ornament ADS view looked very different from the base weapon.
Prestige Eater of Worlds and Spire of Stars ornaments can be viewed in collections.
The “Become Legend” step of the New Light quest incorrectly asked players to reach Power level 950.
It now correctly asks players to reach Power level 1000.
Redrix’s Broadsword will now be available to reclaim from Collections.
Note: This will be locked to the first roll rewarded when completing the Broadsword quest.
Made improvements to Sleeper Node RNG on Mars.
When combining Resonate Stems, it is very unlikely that the resulting Override Frequency will unlock a node in your current area. For example, if you need to unlock a node in Heatsink, you should leave Heatsink before creating an Override Frequency.
Destiny 2 has an internal checklist of nodes you have unlocked. This checklist is separate from the count you see in-game, and prior to this fix, the checklist would frequently be cleared. Clearing this checklist is the reason duplicates were so common. Going forward, the checklist will never be cleared.
Note: If you create an Override Frequency for a node that you have opened in the past, you should open the node again instead of deleting the Override Frequency. This will allow the internal checklist to be updated, and help prevent future duplicates.
Spider will begin offering three weekly Wanted bounties, up from one.
Note: These bounties will now award 10k Glimmer, down from 15k.
Fixed an issue where the Guardian Games quest was still present in some players’ inventories.
Seriously, if this Quest isn’t fully removed this time, we’re going to need to talk to Zavala about how Titans are rubbing their win in everyone’s faces.
It’s not very nice of them to do that.
Please stop reminding me that Hunters lost.
Fixed an issue where players could block quest progress by acquiring Calcified Light without the quest active.
Reduced amount of Shader drops from Umbral Engrams.
Weapons
Exotics
Ruinous Effigy:
Transmutation Spheres can no longer be picked up by players with active Super abilities.
Perks that provide ability energy on Super activation (Apotheosis Veil, Radiant Largesse) now activate after Super energy is consumed.
These perks used to activate during the Super’s warmup, but that allowed players to cancel their Super during warmup to gain ability energy without consuming their Super energy.
This change will prevent activating these perks for “free.”
Fixed an issue affecting the perks on Jade Rabbit and Merciless.
Perks that activate “on hit” weren’t triggering properly when projectiles over-penetrated their target.
Armor
Solstice of Heroes:
When in first-person view, most of the Gauntlets are invisible except for the gold trim and hands.
Fixed a misaligned solstice glow on the Hunter Solstice leg arrangement.
Increased glow intensity.
General
Fixed an issue on Steam where certain player persona names could cause Weasel errors.

Manga is such a massive form of media that it can explore stories that you wouldn’t typically see in movies, TV, or even American comic books. And this October, a story about a man which chainsaws attached to his arms arrives from writer and artist Tatsuki Fujimoto.
Arriving in stores on October 6, the 192 page manga comes from the Shonen Jump imprint from Viz Media, and it will retail for $10 for Volume 1. This is the debut of Chainsaw Man in English, as it was first released in Japan in late 2018. Check out the cover and some of the interior pages below.
“Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil-dog Pochita,” reads the synopsis. “He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man–Chainsaw Man!”
Chainsaw Man is one of the three new series debuting in October for Viz, including Moriarty: The Patriot and Fangirl. You can check out everything coming to Viz for October here. This also includes the final volume for Transformers, the manga and DVDs and Blu-rays premiering in October.

Will Smith took to his personal YouTube channel to announce that Bel-Air, the previously announced dramatic series adaptation of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has “just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season order from a pitch.” Smith, who has been working in television for 30 years, called the deal “unprecedented.” You can check out the full announcement below, which is more like an informal gathering with himself and the other principals involved in production.
Smith is not wrong when he says the trajectory for the series is unusual. Bel-Air started life as a four-minute concept video that went viral after being posted in March 2019 by Kansas City filmmaker Morgan Cooper. The clip quickly picked up steam and turned out to be a breakthrough video for Cooper, who is now collaborating with Will Smith on the series. Cooper will direct, co-write, and serve as co-executive producer alongside writer, showrunner, and executive producer Chris Collins (The Wire, The Man in the High Castle).
According to a release, Bel-Air is a serialized adaptation “that leans into the original premise: Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. With a re-imagined vision, Bel-Air will dive deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions and biases that were impossible to fully explore in a 30-minute sitcom format, while still delivering swagger and nods to the original show.”
While Peacock has ordered two seasons of the new show, there are no announcements regarding casting or tentative dates for when it will start airing.
Lego Ideas are fan-made sets that are voted on by the community. Those that reach over 10,000 supporters are then collected and submitted to Lego for review, with a handful potentially making their way to production. This time around, a staggering 35 designs made the cut–a new record for the program–with many based on both games and anime.
Below, you can see some of the designs that are in review, including Nook’s Cranny from New Horizons, a Glados scene from Portal 2, a stage from Fall Guys, Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and a ramen shop scene from Naruto.
Games often make it to review in Lego Ideas, with the last batch including designs from Sonic: The Hedgehog and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Those are still being reviewed, and earlier design for the stables from Breath of the Wild was sadly rejected earlier this year. And with Lego not entirely forthcoming as to the reasons behind rejections, it’s unclear if it’s an issue with the design itself or the licenses required to produce it.
Still, it’s fun to see how games make the transition to these blocky creations, with the hope that some will perhaps find space on your shelves in the future. If you’re more into digital Lego, then Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga might be more to your fancy, even if it was recently delayed to Summer 2021.

Kena: Bridge Of Spirits was one of the most promising games to emerge from the PlayStation 5 reveal event back in June. Now, thanks to a Game Informer cover story, we have new details on the cozy adventure game, including the fact that it takes two seconds to launch from the console’s dashboard.
As one of the few games confirmed for a PS5 launch, the story gives us a few hints of the upcoming console’s features, including the fact that Kena will use Pikmin-like friends called the Rot to solve puzzles and battle enemies. Up to 100 of the Rot will appear on screen at one time on PS5, and less will appear on PS4, though this will have no effect on gameplay. The PS5 version of the game will also utilize the DualSense’s new haptic feedback for attacks, including tension on a bow.
According to the cover story, Kena: Bridge Of Spirits does not have a concrete release date, but will come out “in a few months.” The game will retail for some amount less than $60 and can be finished comfortably in a weekend. It also features multiple difficulty settings, with the hardest aimed at veteran players looking for a stiff challenge. If you want to preorder a PS5, you better get a move on: Sony says only limited amounts will be available for preorder.

Destiny 2‘s annual Solstice of Heroes has wrapped up, but players can still pursue a final Exotic weapon quest in Season of Arrivals, earning a reward that harkens back to the first year of the game. Four of Destiny 2’s planets will soon be sealed away in the Destiny Content Vault, and Zavala needs your help to clear those locations in the Evacuation quest. The adventure is lengthy, but the reward for evacuating Io, Mars, Mercury, and Titan is a sidearm that has been redesigned: Traveler’s Chosen.

Gathering Light
Final blows with this weapon grant stacks of Gathering Light.
Consume stacks, granting melee, grenade, and class ability energy based on the number of stacks.
Gift of the Traveler

The quest to obtain the new Exotic sidearm is free for all players during Season of the Arrivals, with the steps having been datamined and listed below for you to read through.
