Apple Is Now Selling Microsoft’s Xbox One Controllers

With the release of Apple’s new major software updates for Apple TV, Mac, iPad, and iPhone, the company has begun selling Microsoft’s Xbox One controllers on its website. Strangely, there’s no sign of the DualShock 4 controller right now.

Purchasing the Xbox One wireless controller sets you back $60 USD, the same price it typically costs at other retailers like Best Buy and GameStop. While The Verge reports that no Apple retail stores carry the controller in stock at the moment, nabbing it through Apple’s website gives you the option of next-day shipping. It’s worth noting that the Xbox One wireless controller is currently on sale at Amazon for $44 USD and comes with free one-day shipping.

Apple introduced gamepad support for both the DualShock 4 and the Xbox One wireless controllers with the launch of its major operating system updates. These include iOS 13 for iPhone, iPadOS for iPad, macOS Catalina for Mac, and tvOS 13 for Apple TV–all of which released in September except Catalina, which become available earlier this week. All software updates are free to download for most Apple devices.

These new software updates brought the inclusion of Apple Arcade, the company’s subscription service that gives you access to hundreds of games for $5 USD a month. Apple has confirmed an assortment of publishers working on Arcade games, including Devolver Digital, Konami, Platinum Games, Sega, and many more.

Via Blizzard Battle.net, Activision announced the PC specs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Both the minimum and recommended requirements are listed, so you’ll be able to check whether your machine can run the game prior to its October 25 release date. We’ve outlined both specifications below.

Both the minimum and recommended PC specs for Modern Warfare are very close to those for last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. If your machine ran Black Ops 4 with no issue, it’s probable that it will handle Modern Warfare as well. Just be sure you clear out enough space on your machine’s hard drive for the new game–175 GB is no joke.

Prior to release, we’ve played through a few of Modern Warfare’s multiplayer modes, including Ground War, Gunfight, and Cyber Attack. There are no major adjustments to the overall Call of Duty formula in any of these game types, but small tweaks–such as movement, weapon feedback, and adaptive loadouts–do make some of these multiplayer modes a joy to play. Both Realism and NVG matches are welcome additions too, if for no other reason than their rulesets.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a soft reboot for the series, utilizing familiar characters from the previous three Modern Warfare games but telling a story that’s disconnected from the continuity. Developer Infinity Ward intends for the game to be hyper-realistic, depicting the horrifying tragedy of modern-day warfare–a statement that seemingly goes against the inclusion of white phosphorus in multiplayer as a kill streak reward, which has sparked controversy. During the game’s open beta, it was revealed that Modern Warfare features cross-save support, allowing you to take your campaign and multiplayer progress with you between Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

We’re inching closer to the end of Fortnite Season 10, and a new Out of Time challenge is available to complete in the battle royale game. This one also has you tracking down audio logs left by the Visitor–the mysterious time-traveling character who first appeared back in Season 4 and returned to the game this season.

While the Visitor’s motives are unclear, these recordings give a bit of insight into what he’s up to and help set the stage for this weekend’s big world-changing event. This time, you’ll need to collect Visitor recordings in Moisty Palms and Greasy Grove. If you need help tracking those down, we’ve put together this guide showing you where the recordings are located.

Where Are The Visitor Recording Locations?

As the challenge states, there are two recordings to find: one in Moisty Palms, the other in Greasy Grove. These recordings look like cassette tapes and are fairly small, so they’ll likely be hard to spot if you don’t already know where to look. The one in Moisty Palms is atop a tall, white brick hotel in the northwestern corner of the area, while the recording in Greasy Grove can be found in one of the booths inside the taco restaurant.

How To Complete The Challenge

Once you know where the recordings are hidden, simply head to the right locations and pick them up as you would any other item in the game. Collect both and the challenge will be completed, earning you more season XP.

Sword Art Online: Alicization – War Of Underworld

Though a similar set-up to previous seasons, Alicization finally nails the premise Sword Art Online has been trying to sell: being trapped in a virtual prison. Alicization manages to make it work by stripping badass protagonist Kirito of everything that makes him special, transforming him into a more relatable character. There’s something so human in the way he occasionally just breaks down and cries over the hopelessness of being entirely alone with no way to get back to his wife, daughter, and friends. And because of this new characterization, the Sword Art Online formula just plays out a lot better. Seriously, if you’re not a fan of Sword Art Online, Sword Art Online II, or Gun Gale Online, consider giving Alicization a chance.

In Sword Art Online, people somehow keep getting trapped in video games where if you die in-game, you die in real life. That’s of little worry to main character Kirito, though, as he’s so good at video games that death is never a possibility when he plays. All of that changes in Alicization, when Kirito awakens in an actual virtual reality (not a video game). With no clear way to escape, and now trapped in a prison that obeys the laws of reality (getting stabbed can’t be quickly healed with an item, for example) Kirito has to make a new life for himself and spend years of time in a fantasy world. War of Underworld is the second half of Alicization, picking up after the first half’s tragic cliffhanger of an ending. PS4’s Newest First-Party Exclusive Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

Sony has its major PlayStation 4 exclusive, Death Stranding, coming out in just a few weeks, The Last of Us Part 2 finally got its big re-reveal with hours of hands-on and a release date, and the Ghost of Tsushima and the PS5 is still on the way. But, if you’re a PS4 owner, you shouldn’t be turning a blind eye to a smaller scale but big-hearted Sony first-party game debuting this week, Concrete Genie.

Concrete Genie is the second game from Pixelopus, a first-party Sony studio that previously developed Entwined. And while it may not be working at the scale of a Naughty Dog or Guerilla Games, Concrete Genie is still a wonderful, heartwarming adventure that can stand proud alongside the God of Wars and The Last of Us. It’s important that Sony is still focusing on smaller stories, and Concrete Genie is well worth your time if you’re looking for a short, sweet, unique tale.

The Batman’s Grave Finds Disturbing New Angle on Bruce Wayne

The Batman’s Grave is a real double-edged sword for comic book readers. On one hand, who actually wants or needs another Batman comic in their life right now? Between the traditional DCU and the Black Label imprint, DC’s current publishing lineup is as Batman-driven as its ever been. On the other, it’s not every day DC launches a new series from the creators of The Authority, a comic that did as much as any other to reshape the superhero genre at the dawn of the 21st Century? The Batman’s Grave probably won’t make quite as significant an impact, but it does manage to bring something new to such a familiar character.

That said, this first issue does take its time before getting to the good stuff. Initially, writer Warren Ellis and artist Bryan Hitch dabble in familiar Batman tropes – wide shots of the Dark Knight navigating his city, scenes of would-be muggers getting punched in the face, gruesome murder scenes, etc. Initially, it doesn’t seem as though The Batman’s Grave has much to offer than can’t be found in any number of other Bat-books.

All the Breaking Bad Reunions at Netflix’s El Camino’s Premiere

On a cool Los Angeles evening at the El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie premiere, franchise cast members like Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and Giancarlo Esposito were reunited – and luckily, cameras were on hand to capture the moment. The film is set to debut on Netflix and embark on a limited run in theaters on Friday, October 11, 2019.

Here’s how the streaming provider describes the television movie event: “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie reunites fans with Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.
