Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli Steps Down

Crytek co-founder Cevat Yerli has stepped down from his role as CEO.

The German game developer best known for creating the Far Cry and Crysis series will now be co-helmed by Yerli’s two brothers, Avni and Faruk Yerli, whom he founded the company with. Cevat will “continue to serve as a Strategic Shareholder.”

In a press release announcing the change, Yerli says the decision was driven by a desire to “recognize the existing leadership’s excellent achievements over these past two years.” He continues by saying he looks forward to helping from a shareholder role, but does not specify how much direct involvement he will have going forward.

Bruce Willis Makes Surprise Appearance on Jimmy Fallon Show

It seems Bruce Willis couldn’t pass on the opportunity to make a surprise appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show Tuesday night.

Fallon kicked off the latest segment of Freestylin’ with The Roots last night, which included a few rhymes by front man Tariq Trotter (a.k.a. Black Thought). As Trotter proceeded to rhyme about a few audience members, Fallon suddenly ran into none other than John McClane himself.

Willis, sporting a cast on his right arm and a grey hoodie, shared a few things about himself, including revealing that his favorite instruments are actually wind instruments. Willis also made sure to remind folks his latest film, a remake of Death Wish, opens in theaters this Friday on March 2. Check out the video above.

M. Night Shyamalan Producing Thriller Series for Apple

Apple continues to bolster its original programming with a new psychological thriller series from M. Night Shyamalan.

Variety reports Apple has given a straight-to-series order for the half-hour show, which will consist of 10 episodes and is written by Tony Basgallop (24: Legacy). Shyamalan will executive produce and direct the first episode. Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, and a premiere date has not been set yet.

Along with Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan, Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black, and Steve Tisch are all executive producing as well, with Taylor Latham co-executive producing. This will be Shyamalan’s second TV series, with the first one being Wayward Pines.

Ta-Nehisi Coates Writing Captain America’s New Comic

Journalist, author, and Black Panther comics writer Ta-Nehisi Coates will write a new Captain America series for Marvel Comics.

Coates made the announcement in an essay for The Atlantic, in which he addresses why he’s decided to write stories about Steve Rogers, the character’s origins, and just how important Captain America has been to the world.

“Rogers’s transformation into Captain America is underwritten by the military,” Coates said. “But, perhaps haunted by his own roots in powerlessness, he is a dissident just as likely to be feuding with his superiors in civilian and military governance as he is to be fighting with the supervillain Red Skull.”

Marvel’s blunt and super-strong private investigator Jessica Jones will return to Netflix for a brand new season on March 8. Not much has been revealed about the quick-witted character’s new adventures, but based on the trailer, it looks like it’ll delve deeper into her origin and finally reveal how she received her powers. HP is a longtime Google Chrome OS partner, cranking out Chromebooks on a regular schedule that run the gamut from surprisingly high-end to budget-oriented education models. For this review I’m going to be checking out one of the latter, as this HP Chromebook 11 (See it on Amazon) is priced at $199 or a little less, making it one of the most affordable laptops money can buy these days. The question is can a laptop that is this affordable actually be workable for day-to-day use? I dedicated myself to the pursuit of the answer.

Gran Turismo Sport Update Adds 12 New Cars

Gran Turismo Sport update 1.13 is live and adds 12 new cars, campaign events, and track layouts, and drivers can now be disqualified in Sports Mode.

The patch, posted today, rolls out changes to Sports Mode as well as the new content. Drivers who rack up too many collisions and shortcuts are now at risk of getting disqualified, while cars lagging behind by over a lap will be ghosted and “not be subject to collisions.” Players can now also submit grief reports for “misconduct of other users.”
