Live-Action Aladdin Remake New Songs From Greatest Showman Duo

Disney’s upcoming live-action Aladdin remake will feature new songs form The Greatest Showman songwriters.

In an interview with Variety, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the duo behind music for The Greatest Showman as well as La La Land, revealed they’ve worked on two new songs for Aladdin. Pasek and Paul collaborated with longtime Disney composer Alan Menken on the new music.

“We got to collaborate with one of our heroes, Alan Menken,” Pasek said. “We collaborated with him and wrote the lyrics for two new songs for Aladdin.”

Menken composed scores for several classic animated Disney films, such as Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and the original Aladdin. Meanwhile, Pasek and Paul won the Oscar for Best Original Song for La La Land’s “City of Stars” last year. They also received a nomination this year for The Greatest Showman’s “This is Me.”

Fortnite Dev Banning Players Who Team Up in Solo Matches

Fortnite Developer Epic is taking action against players teaming up in Battle Royale’s solo game mode.

PCGamesN reports the response comes after a Reddit thread featured a video in which five players were working together in the solo mode. Comments on the thread revealed players were able to team up somewhat reliably by joining a game of Battle Royale at the same time.

This put those playing the mode as an intended free-for-all on the back foot with teams having an easy advantage over solo players.

Here’s What Pokemon Go Bonuses Are Coming After Legendary Week

Legendary Week is now over in Pokemon Go, and Niantic has shared the results from the 10-day-long event. The company revealed that players managed to defeat the Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza more times than the returning Groudon and Kyogre, which means Pokemon that like windy weather will be a lot more common in the game for the next few days.

From now until March 16, Pokemon that typically spawn in windy conditions, such as Bagon, will be more likely to hatch from Eggs. In addition to that, Raid Battles will likewise feature Pokemon that prefer windy weather. Players will also receive double XP as an added bonus from now until March 16.

March 16 is a notable date for Pokemon Go players to remember, as that is also when Rayquaza will leave the game. The Legendary Dragon-type Pokemon can be encountered until then in Raid Battles at Gyms. However, time has run out to capture its fellow Gen 3 Legendaries, Groudon and Kyogre. Following their initial runs as Raid bosses, the pair returned to Raid Battles for a limited time as part of Legendary Week, but they have once again left the game with the conclusion of the event.

Niantic kicked off Legendary Week last month, on February 23. For the duration of the event, Pokemon Go players had another chance to capture Groudon and Kyogre in Raid Battles alongside Rayquaza, and the Legendary they defeated most would directly influence which kinds of Pokemon will hatch from Eggs for the next few days. If players could defeat Rayquaza more than Groudon and Kyogre combined, then Pokemon that prefer windy weather would be more likely to hatch; if they couldn’t, then those that prefer sunny or rainy weather would be more likely.

Niantic has already shared details for the next Pokemon Go Community Day. The event will take place on March 25, and as before, it will feature a rare Pokemon that knows a move it cannot typically learn in the game. Niantic still hasn’t revealed what the move will be, but the special Pokemon players will be able to encounter during this month’s event is the Pokemon Red and Blue starter Bulbasaur.

Dragon Ball Super Episode 129 Review

Warning: The following review contains spoilers for the episode.

Ultra Instinct has activated, and with it, Universe 7 creeps one step closer to survival. Episode 129 sees Goku rise beyond his limits and showcases just how mighty the Saiyan race can be. While the pacing wasn’t consistent, the excellent animation and well-timed commentary helped turn a short fight into a thrilling build-up to the unlocking of true Ultra Instinct power.

Several scenes that involved stare-downs and repeated combat visuals dragged down the beginning of the episode. This may have been acceptable earlier in the Tournament of Power, but we’ve now spent weeks watching Jiren battle and know that what’s happening is meaningless to him. This is only compounded by the strange decision for Super to so blatantly spoil what happens in the episode with the title. While it was expected Goku would reach Mastered Ultra Instinct, the show forecasting that before even having a chance to watch the episode deflates the build-up to that moment.

When Will the Oscars Recognize Andy Serkis and Doug Jones?

We have long since entered a new age of motion picture history, in which live-action performances and computer-generated imagery regularly combine to create characters whose existence would have seemed nearly impossible only decades ago, in films like The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Jungle Book and War for the Planet of the Apes.

Now, would someone please tell the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences? Because it doesn’t look like they’ve noticed, does it?

It’s been over a decade-and-a-half since Andy Serkis’s astounding performance as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers was passed over for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. It’s a fate which also befell all three of his performances in the rebooted Planet of the Apes series, and while we’re at it, it’s a fate that keeps befalling other talented motion capture actors (like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Toby Kebbell ) and even makeup effects actors, such as Doug Jones (The Shape of Water).

Samsung is widely recognized for its phones and TVs, but the company also makes quite a few Chromebooks. With its Chromebook Pro (See it on Amazon), Samsung is using Google’s Chrome OS (of course) while also adding a bit of its smartphone know-how to the recipe. No, there’s not an iris scanner or Super AMOLED display, but instead the Chromebook Pro comes with an embedded pen, similar to what you’d find in the latest Galaxy Note smartphone. It also includes a high-res panel (for a Chromebook, at least) and is spill resistant, making it almost a phone/laptop hybrid. At $549 it’s on the higher-end of the Chromebook pricing scale, and it’s the flagship Samsung Chromebook. Let’s see if its worth the higher price.

THR reports Bahous made the claim over the weekend via a Facebook post, stating the work he did on a series of albums in 2015 looks too similar to the Solo posters released earlier this year. Disney is said to be looking into the allegations and provided the following statement to THR: “The posters were created by an outside vendor and it’s something we are currently looking into.”

Man Arrested After Trying to Steal McDormand’s Oscar

A man has been arrested for felony grand theft after allegedly attempting to steal Frances McDormand’s Oscar at the Governors Ball after-party.

According to Variety, Terry Bryant, 47, allegedly took McDormand’s Academy Award, which she won earlier in the evening for Best Actress, off her table at the after-party. A photographer at the event reportedly took the trophy from Bryant and returned it to McDormand, who subsequently told security to let him go.
