Jessica Jones Full Season 2 Review (Spoiler-Free)

Note: This is a generally spoiler-free review of Jessica Jones Season 2, intended to be safe for those who have not yet begun or finished all 13 episodes of the season. If you’d like to read our thoughts on specific episodes or plot points, please check out our individual Season 2 episode reviews, which include full spoilers.

There’s no other superhero series that grapples with the true cost of being a hero the way Jessica Jones does, and in Season 2, that introspection remains the show’s greatest strength, while also contributing to some of the story’s weaknesses.

Legends of Tomorrow Gets a Boost From Elvis

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

Throw the plots of Footloose and The Sixth Sense in a blender and you pretty much arrive at the premise of this week’s Legends of Tomorrow. More than just an installment that checks off another name on the list of obligatory historical guest stars, “Amazing Grace” served as an effective rumination on death, the constantly changing nature of life and the transformative power of rock and roll. Not bad for a single hour of television.

I’ve mentioned before how I’ve been a little iffy on the whole totem element driving this season’s conflict. But the idea of the sixth mystery totem being a death totem affixed to the same guitar that Robert Johnson sold his soul to possess and that launched Elvis Presley’s career? That’s pretty nifty. The supernatural angle really helped this episode stand out. We’ve already seen Legends episodes where the team travel back to help an artist bring their defining work to life. “Raiders of the Lost Art” comes to mind. It wouldn’t have been enough for the show to simply recycle that formula and swap out George Lucas for Elvis (Raising Expectations’ Luke Bilyk). But by setting up a conflict where Elvis has to play his heart out in order to stop an army of the undead? That’s a whole new ballgame.

Fight In Nazi-Controlled Alaska In Wolfenstein 2’s Final Expansion

The third and final piece of expansion content for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be here very, very soon. “The Amazing Deeds of Captain Wilkins,” as it’s called, launches at midnight local time tonight.

This expansion brings US Army hero Captain Gerald Wilkins into battle on a mission to a Nazi-occupied Alaska. Your objective? To take down Operation Black Sun, which is the secret and mysterious Nazi project in Alaska.

The Amazing Deeds of Captain Wilkins is priced at $10 on its own or you can get it with the game’s $25 Freedom Chronicles Season Paass. This also includes the two previously released expansions: The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe and The Diaries of Agent Silent Death.

The New Colossus, a sequel to 2014’s A New Order, launched in October 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Our New Colossus review scored the game a 9/10. Developer MachineGames says it sees the franchise as a trilogy, so another game could come.

While we wouldn’t expect a third game anytime soon, Bethesda may have some surprises up its sleeve for this year or next. We may find out more during Bethesda’s E3 2018 briefing in June.
