New, Narrative-Driven World War I Game Announced By Bandai Namco And Wallace And Gromit Studio

When you think of the animation of Wallace and Gromit, painterly and atmospheric is probably not what you think of. Nevertheless, Aardman Studios, Bandai Namco, and developer DigixArt are collaborating on a new narrative adventure game set in World War I that sounds like a far cry from the comedic, claymation series.

Called 11-11: Memories Retold, the game focuses on storytelling and tone, rather than combat. Bandai has provided few details regarding its gameplay yet, although it says that it’ll be fairly unconventional. From the first press release, it sounds somewhat similar to Ubisoft’s Valiant Hearts.

“From the painted style to the emotional journey we create for the player to revive their heritage, we are pushing the boundaries of what a game can be and hope it will leave a mark on you,” DigixArt stated in a press release.

You can see the first trailer in the embed above. Although sparse on specifics, it does give a glimpse of what you can expect from the art style. True to Bandai’s word, the game looks very painting-like, and it’ll be interesting to see what the game’s character animations will be like.

11-11: Memories Retold is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC, although no release date has been provided yet. If we were to speculate, though, we’d guess that November 11 would be a good day to launch, considering it’s in the game’s title. The title almost certainly references the 11/11/1918 armistice agreement ending the war, too, so if it came out this year, the game would launch on the 100th anniversary of the armistice.

Horror Movie A Quiet Place Getting A Sequel

The horror movie A Quiet Place, which stars John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt, is getting a sequel. The sequel was announced today at CinemaCon, just weeks after A Quiet Place opened to strong reviews and more than $200 million worldwide earlier this month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount studio chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos said A Quiet Place‘s success was somewhat unexpected. “If you told me five years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from The Office would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said, ‘Well, I should go work at Paramount,'” he said.

Krasinski and Blunt star as parents who, along with their two children, must stay silent to avoid creatures because the world is overrun by blind monsters that track you by sound only.

The movie reportedly cost $17 million to make, so the $213 million it’s made worldwide means it has turned a very nice profit. For more on A Quiet Place, check out GameSpot’s review.

A Quiet Place was directed by Krasinski from a screenplay by Scott Beck and Brian Woods. As of yet, there is no word on if the original team is staying together for the follow-up, nor are any plot details available.

Nickelodeon Announces Double Dare Revival

The beloved Nickelodeon game show Double Dare is coming back.

The network announced it is reviving the classic 1980s and ’90s series this summer with 40 new episodes. The reboot will feature all the challenges fans can remember, along with celebrity guests and more.

Double Dare originally aired from 1986 to 1993, and briefly in 2000. It pits two teams of kids against each other in trivia and physical challenges. Competitors also had to go through the show’s infamous obstacle course, which included the wringer, the human hamster wheel, the gigantic mouth, and the Double Dare nose. The series used Nickelodeon’s famous green slime as well.

The Avengers: Infinity War Iron Spider suit has been unveiled for Spider-Man on PlayStation 4.

As detailed on PlayStation Blog, Peter Parker’s shiny new gear from the upcoming MCU film is one of the three suits included in the Spidey Suit pack pre-order bonus. You can check out the Iron Spider suit in action in the gameplay trailer below.

Insomniac was given access to the actual CG asset from Infinity War to ensure the suit is as authentic as possible. Marvel’s Spider-Man will feature a variety of other suits inspired by comics and film for players to try on.
