Deadpool 2 originally included a joke about Disney, but Ryan Reynolds was told by 20th Century Fox to cut it from the film.
“This is a sore spot for me because there’s a joke in the movie that is not in the movie now because—I’m probably not even allowed to say this—Fox made me take it out,” Reynolds, who co-wrote the film with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, told Entertainment Weekly.
“It had more to do with Disney, and they made me take it out,” he said, noting how, in the wake of Disney’s deal to acquire 21st Century Fox, it was probably a smart move. “As I look back at it, I think maybe that was a wise decision,” Reynolds added.
PUBG Corp. has released a new update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One. Following its stint on the test server, patch #13 has been rolled over to the live game, although it’s a fairly minor one, primarily making optimization and performance improvements.
Among other things, PUBG Corp. has optimized the parachuting and free-fall process, which the developer says will make the game run better during the early stages of each match. Additionally, world loading has been improved, while movement data for players who close by but out-of-sight is processed more efficiently.
On top of those changes, PUBG Corp. has optimized the inventory, which the developer says has improved its responsiveness when being opened and fixed “some” crashing issues. Finally, the update resolves performance issues that were caused by uninhabited boats and vehicles.
You can find the full patch notes for update #13 below and on PUBG’s official website. While this patch should help further improve how the game runs on the console, PUBG Corp. acknowledges some remaining issues that it hopes to address soon. In particular, the game occasionally crashes after play sessions that last three hours or longer on the original Xbox One or the Xbox One S.
PUBG Corp. is planning to release PUBG’s second map, Miramar, on Xbox One soon. The developer recently hosted a test for the map, although the first test session was mired by technical issues. PUBG Corp. hasn’t announced when Miramar will arrive to the live game, although it is planned to launch this month. The PC version also recently received a major update; you can see that in the video above.

Uninhabited boats and vehicles were causing some performance issues, and we’ve resolved this issue.
Halloween is still five months away, but there’s plenty to be scared of in May thanks to Hulu. The streaming service is adding dozens of new movies and TV shows this month, giving you plenty to watch–including one of the most beloved franchises in horror.
May sees the arrival of five A Nightmare on Elm Street movies, from the 1984 original through Wes Craven’s New Nightmare–save for Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. Never fear, though, as that particular title is already available from the streamer. Unfortunately, 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason is nowhere to be found, which leaves fans without star Robert Englund’s final time donning that horrifying glove.
Other new movie arrivals include the Sylvester Stallone classic Demolition Man, She’s All That, and five Rocky installments. On the TV side, new seasons of Drunk History, Mobile Suit Gundam, 12 Monkeys, and The Strain all begin streaming in May.
Buying a video game can be a risky thing. What if you don’t like it? What if it’s not how you imagined it would be? You’re often out of luck. But what if you could try a game before you buy it? For five games this weekend, you can. These worthy games are free to play this weekend across various platforms. Better yet, if you choose to buy the full games, you can get them on sale. Here are the games you can play this weekend without spending a nickel.
Call of Duty: WWII
The latest installment in this premier FPS franchise has sold plenty of copies, but that doesn’t mean everyone has tried it. If you’ve yet to pull the trigger on Call of Duty: WWII, Activision would like to give you a chance to change your mind. This weekend, PC gamers can try out the game’s multiplayer mode for free on Steam. The full game is also on sale for $39 all weekend long.
From our 9/10 Call of Duty: WWII review: “As one of the most comprehensive and filler-free Call of Dutys in recent memory, Call of Duty: WWII successfully capitalizes on the series’ strengths.”
For Honor
For Honor is an online melee combat game set in a medieval-style fantasy world. You can see if you have what it takes to hang with the knights, vikings, and samurai for free this weekend on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is also on sale for $20 on digital platforms. (Note: Xbox One owners will need Xbox Live Gold to play, but the PS4 version doesn’t require PS Plus).
From our For Honor review: “After slaying countless foes, it’s clear the impact For Honor’s combat has had; its fundamental tenets of discipline and restraint are bestowed upon you permanently, forever changing the way you perceive a melee-combat encounter in a game. In its highest moments, For Honor is difficult to put down.”
XCOM 2
Also free to play this weekend on Xbox One is the turn-based strategy game XCOM 2, which puts you in a leadership role as you fight for humanity’s existence against alien overlords. The full game is on sale for $20 this weekend, too. (Note: you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play).
In our 9/10 XCOM 2 review, Mike Mahardy wrote, “This new script supports numerous tweaks to the XCOM formula, all for the better. We’re still building an army, researching new technologies, and putting them to use in squad-based strategy missions. But these missions are less about repelling the aliens, and more about sabotaging their global operations whenever we can. We loot supply trains and intercept communications signals to halt the Advent’s plan for human eradication. XCOM 2 ties its narrative and gameplay together in such a way that every mission feels critical, and every shot carries weight.”
Just Cause 3
Fans of over-the-top action should check out Just Cause 3, which is free this weekend on Xbox One. It’s basically a sandbox open-world in which all manner of chaos and action movie stunts can and do happen. This game is on sale on the Xbox Store for just $6 all weekend.
From our 8/10 Just Cause 3 review: “Just Cause 3 makes no apologies for its outrageous nature. It’s a power fantasy in every sense of the phrase, placing you in a world rife with destructible environments and giving you creative instruments with which to destroy them. There are intermittent technical problems, and scripted moments detract from the freedom found elsewhere, but in the end, Just Cause 3 provides a spectacular, explosive sandbox experience.”
From our 9/10 Offworld Trading Company review: “When combined with truly deep and intricate strategic options, Offworld is a revelation. It’s almost unparalleled in the genre. Each and every game is thrilling. Every moment is a challenge. And the brutality of the free market ensures that you can never rest on your laurels, less you be quashed by the invisible hand.”

Quantum Break and Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment will announce its next game at E3, the studio has announced. The project, which has been codenamed P7, will release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One under a new publishing agreement with 505 Games. The developer has also indicated that it will be using the Quantum Break engine again, and bringing it to PS4 for the first time since the studio’s games have been Microsoft-exclusive for several years.
As first reported by PC Games N and confirmed by GameSpot, this will be a first-look at the game, but it will be hands-off for press in attendance. That sounds like it’s still relatively early in development, which makes sense given that financial reports have indicated that P7 won’t launch until sometime in 2019. Other games in 505’s line-up include Bloodstained, Indivisible, and Underworld Ascendant.
Quantum Break sold well and broke Microsoft’s expectations, according to Aaron Greenberg, but it was the last of a long-standing publisher relationship regardless. The Alan Wake games and Quantum Break were all Microsoft exclusives. The studio confirmed it was interested in developing cooperative multiplayer, back when P7 was a secret project said to be “in the conceptual phase.”
Remedy has become known for cinematic experiences, to the point that Quantum Break blended gameplay choices with lengthy filmed cutscenes meant to be watched like a TV show. It was a bold experiment that paid off with effective performances, according to GameSpot’s Quantum Break review, but some sloppy combat and platforming held it back from greatness.
A new event mode is starting soon in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PC. Following the game’s latest update, developer PUBG Corp. has announced it is bringing back the popular War Mode for a limited time, and it comes with a few changes this time around.
For this iteration of War Mode, players will be grouped into 10 teams of five on Miramar. The battle will be contained within a static safe zone, which PUBG Corp. says will be slightly larger this time around. Players will also spawn with “top-tier” equipment, including a level 3 helmet and vest, two grenades, and one random weapon that could usually only be found in care packages.
As before, War is essentially a Team Deathmatch mode for PUBG. The object is to score 200 points by killing and knocking down other players. Unlike PUBG’s usual battle royale mode, players will also respawn in a plane each time they are killed during a match, and it takes only two seconds to revive a knocked teammate.
War Mode kicks off tonight, May 3, at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET (3 AM BST on May 4) and will only be available through the weekend, running until the same time on May 6. Given its popularity, however, there is always a chance PUBG Corp. could introduce another new iteration of the mode in the future. You can read more details about it on Steam.
War Mode arrives shortly after PUBG’s most recent update, which introduced a slate of major changes to the game. In addition to a new gun–the SLR–and vehicle for Miramar, Update #12 added the ability to choose which map players prefer to be matched up on and makes sweeping changes to weapon balance. It also introduced an assortment of new attachments. PUBG Corp. detailed all of the changes in the update’s patch notes.
Green screens were recently discovered within the map of Fortnite and players are already using them to create new fan films.
New locations and Easter Eggs were added to the map with the launch of Season 4 of Fortnite, including new filming sets that feature in-game green screens. Players who record their character in front of the green screen can later edit the background during video editing.
Fans have taken the opportunity to take their dancing characters and place them in just about any location they want. YouTube user GameNight shows just how far this new feature can go by using the Ride the Pony emote on the top of a mountain, in space, and of course, on a horse.
