J.K. Rowling Apologizes for This Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Death

J.K. Rowling is finally apologizing for killing a beloved character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Rowling is talking about none other than Dobby the house elf, who died at the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange while helping Harry and his friends. His death occurred before the Battle of Hogwarts took place, and on the anniversary of the battle, the author decided to honor the fan-favorite character on Twitter.

South Park Is Hulu’s Most Watched Show

Hulu announced on Wednesday at its annual upfront presentation that it now has over 20 million US subscribers, and also revealed some interesting viewer statistics concerning its subscriber base.

According to Business Insider, South Park was the streaming providers’ most-watched show in 2017, with subscribers watching 135 hours of the popular animated program. The long-running Comedy Central series extended its contract with Hulu back in 2015, for five more years, in a deal worth $192 million.

Another interesting fact from Hulu’s presentation revealed that 35,000 subscribers have watched all 331 episodes of ER in just 2 months since the popular medical drama dropped on the streaming service.

Nintendo: New President Plans to ‘Expand’ Mobile Presence

Nintendo’s new president, Shuntaro Furukawa, says he wants to expand the company’s mobile presence with more smartphone games.

In an interview with Nikkei, Furukawa said that he wants to grow the company’s mobile games output into a 100 billion yen ($910 billion USD) business, and hopes to echo the success of Niantic’s Pokemon Go.

“From what I can see, smartphone games are the ones I want to expand the most,” he told the outlet, adding that, “The idea that something will emerge that transforms into something big, in the same manner as game consoles, is the defining motive of the Nintendo business.”

Mark Ruffalo Dropped a Huge Infinity War Spoiler… Last Year

If you’ve seen Avengers: Infinity War, you’ll know the keen struggle not to just blurt out amazing moments from the movie. Now imagine you were in Infinity War.

Maybe you’ll feel some sympathy for Mark Ruffalo who couldn’t contain himself from talking about the climax of the movie. Except he did that next to a really pissed off Don Cheadle, on TV, 9 months before the movie came out.

Warning: If you can’t already tell, this story is going to mention major plot elements from Avengers: Infinity War. It also somewhat mentions the ending of Thor: Ragnarok. If you haven’t seen either, don’t read it.

YouTube Red’s Cobra Kai Keeps the Karate Kid Legacy Alive

It’s been 30 years since the legend of The Karate Kid was born, and if you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to see All Valley Tournament alums Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence reignite their rivalry, then you’re in luck with a new original series from YouTube Red, titled Cobra Kai.

After five films, and one failed animated series, it’s great to see The Karate Kid franchise getting back to its roots, by shifting the focus back onto Daniel and Johnny, decades after the famous Crane Kick altered the destiny of these two very different men.

William Zabka’s portrayal of Johnny is the standout in the first two episodes, delivering an unexpectedly comedic performance. When Johnny is first introduced, it’s clear that he’s still feeling the emotional impact of Daniel’s kick. He’s a lonely drunk, lacking all of that California-boy bravado that made him so memorable in the first movie.
