GTA 5: Here’s What’s New In GTA Online For PS4, Xbox One, And PC This Week

While a lot of attention around Rockstar Games these days is on Red Dead Redemption 2’s new trailer coming on Wednesday, the studio is still supporting GTA Online. Rockstar has now announced all the new stuff for GTA V’s multiplayer mode this week, as well as all the sales and double RP opportunities.

Now through May 7, you can earn double GTA$ and RP in all of the Rockstar-created Special Vehicle Races, of which there are 30. This includes 10 new ones for Thrusters, Deluxos, and Strombergs (more on that later), along with the 20 original Special Vehicle Races.

Additionally, you can earn double GTA$ and RP for all Special Vehicle work missions this week in GTA Online. In terms of discounts, the following Warstock Cache & Carry items are on sale:

  • Thruster – 25% off
  • Deluxo – 25% off
  • Stromberg – 25% off
  • Ruiner 2000 – 25% off
  • Rocket Voltic – 25% off
  • Blazer Aqua – 25% off

As for the new Special Vehicle races, these are divided between Imponte Deluxo, Mammoth Thruster, and Ocelot Stromberg races; you can get all the details on these below, with descriptions written by Rockstar Games (click the links to bookmark them using your Social Club account):

IMPONTE DELUXO RACES

  • Stadium Flyover: The whole stadium is on its feet waiting for the all-American finale: a low-level flyover by levitating sports cars.
  • Raton Race: Raton Canyon is the kind of rugged terrain that makes any red-blooded adrenaline junkie reach for their climbing boots— or the keys to their flying car.
  • Cresting: Whether you’re driving, surfing the waves, soaring above the mountains, or doing all the above in your Deluxo – there’s nothing quite like the San Andreas coastline.
  • Techno: This is no edible-fueled night in Los Santos – when your car takes off and starts flying, that’s every bit as real as the psychedelic tunnels and rings of fire.

OCELOT STROMBERG RACES

  • Spindrift: As an underwater labyrinth strewn with naval mines gradually reveals itself, try to remember that every moment of paralyzed terror is a moment off your lap time.
  • The Kraken: Fair warning. If you’ve ever had bad calamari, this one is probably not for you.
  • Plunge: Every pro racer knows to keep a finger on submersible mode when there’s suddenly no more track and you’re soaring into the stratosphere with only the ocean as your landing pad.

MAMMOTH THRUSTER RACES

  • Vinewood Air Tours: Welcome to the high life— the neon glow of the city, the Vinewood sign shining from the hills, 1,000 pounds of thrust roaring at your back and the prospect of horrifying mid-air collisions.
  • Chiliad Drop: One minute you’re soaring over the summit of Mount Chiliad, the next you’re strafing into a cliff with only some rocket fuel and the promise of bragging rights to cushion the blow.
  • FlyLo Challenge: The survival rate in a Los Santos road tunnel at rush hour could only get lower if road-raging maniacs ditched their cars and used jetpacks instead. But that would never happen.

And finally, this week’s Premium race is “Downtown Loop” using Super vehicles, while the Time Trial event is “Fort Zancudo.” As usual, the Premium gives an allotment of GTA$ to the top three finishers and triple RP for all participants, while the Time Trial rewards those who beat the par time with GTA$ and RP.

Black Panther Deleted Scene Shows A Tense Moment

SOME BLACK PANTHER SPOILERS FOLLOW BELOW.

Following its record-breaking run in theatres, Marvel’s Black Panther is coming to digital stores and Blu-ray/DVD later this month. Included with the home video version are some deleted scenes, and now one of them has been revealed.

Via USA Today, the scene reveals what was hinted at in the movie: that Okoye (Danai Gurira) and M’Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya) are married. They are fighting over what to do when T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is presumed dead and Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) is lined up to take control of Wakanda. In the video, director Ryan Coogler said he was “incredibly proud” of this scene, but explained that it didn’t work within the confines of the film.

Black Panther comes to digital stores on May 8, with a release for Blu-ray and DVD to follow a week later on May 15.

In addition to some deleted scenes, the home video version will include other bonus features such as mini-documentaries about the warrior women of Wakanda, the world of Wakanda, and the advanced technology of Wakanda. There are also fake tourism ads for Wakanda, a gag reel, a sneak peek at Ant-Man and the Wasp, director’s commentary, and more, according to Collider.

Black Panther recently surpassed Titanic to become one of the highest-grossing movies in US history; now it’s only behind Avatar and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In other Marvel movie news, Avengers: Infinity War hit theatres last week–and it’s crushing all kinds of records.

Lumines Remastered Gets Release Date

Lumines Remastered has a confirmed release date, and while it’s later than the May release the studio initially announced, we’ll be able to get our hands on it on June 26.

“There are still some clouds in this May’s forecast, but it’s looking like the sun will be shinin’ in June, just in time for Lumines Remastered to bring in the summer with an official release on June 26th,” read the press release.

The studio acknowledged the delay on its Twitter account, saying, “You’ve been waiting long enough. Can you wait just a little longer?”

“Yes, we know we said May, but the sun will be shinin’ in June,” it added, after confirming the global release date for Nintendo Switch, Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Star Wars Han Solo Movie TV Trailer Briefly Shows An Alien That Looks Like It’s Out Of Destiny

The next Star Wars movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, hits theatres in just a few weeks. As you would expect, Disney is going to be pushing the movie with TV spots to hype it up. A new one titled “Team” landed today, and while some of its footage comes from previous trailers, it also has some brand-new footage. It all looks pretty spectacular.

“I’m gonna be a pilot; best in the galaxy,” Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) says at the start of the trailer. The TV spot is only 30 seconds long, but it makes good use of the time, showing Han battling a Destiny-like alien, Chewbacca doing Chewbacca things, and a lot of action with the Millennium Falcon. The trailer also shows off Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke), and Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson). Take a look at the video below.

Solo: A Star Wars Story opens on May 25. It also features Paul Bettany and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. In other news, Ehrenreich recently let slip that his contract covers three appearances as Han, so we could be seeing more of the actor in the iconic role.

And in wider Star Wars news, 2015’s The Force Awakens recently lost its box office record to the recently released Avengers: Infinity War.

Below you can get a closer look at that alien that looks like it’s from Destiny. The lead image is from a previous trailer, while the ones embedded below show this alien creature thing battling Han on a fast-moving train through a snowy mountainpass.
