Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia Review
Some of Total War’s best campaigns over the years, such as Caesar in Gaul from Rome 2 or the Kingdoms expansion for Medieval 2, have been narrowly focused on a specific place and time. Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia is successful for some of the same reasons those were. When I really dug into it though, what I found was a bit of a showboat. It has a lot of cool, new ideas but slips up on the fundamentals in ways that keep those ideas from effectively coming together into a great whole.
The map is among the most detailed and eye-catching in the series so far, modeling Ireland and Great Britain at about the same dimensions that had to contain all of Europe in Total War: Attila. Fighting and maneuvering armies along the jagged coasts of Western Scotland is a much different strategic and tactical experience from wading through the marshy bogs of Essex. The countryside feels fleshed-out and alive thanks to the presence of tiny villages and priories outside the protection of major walled cities.

The Villains Dominate This Week’s Flash
Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.
The Flash: Season 4 has many problems, but for the most part, its villain isn’t one of them. If anything, this season has suffered from a relative lack of Neil Sandilands’ Clifford DeVoe. “Therefore She Knows” rectified that problem in a big way, as its villain-heavy focus made up for some less than endearing romantic drama.
It certainly wasn’t the Vibe/Gypsy storyline that propelled this episode forward. Sure, it was nice to see Jessica Camacho return after such a prolonged absence, but I can’t say I’m thrilled with the way their relationship was handled this week. For one thing, the “Cisco and Cynthia need to learn to be on the same page” plot point felt extremely on the nose. For another, we’re a little too close to the endgame to be devoting this much room to lover’s spats. There was some amusement to be had in Barry’s misguided attempts to bring the two closer together, but that’s about it.
The 100 Boss Breaks Down Episode 2’s Big Twist
This interview contains spoilers for The 100 Season 5, episode 2, “Red Queen.”
No more miraculous saves here – Thelonius Jaha (Isaiah Washington) officially reached the end of the line on The 100 in episode 2 of Season 5. It was definitely past time to say goodbye to the polarizing character after all the death and destruction he caused last season, and yet his onscreen death packed a surprising emotional punch, even for fans who have been rooting for his death for years.
One of the few remaining original series regulars, the former Chancellor of the Ark has been around on The CW’s post-apocalyptic drama from the very beginning, and his journey has definitely been maddening. His constant plans for saving “his people” often caused more problems than he intended. Let’s not forget, this is the man that enabled ALIE (Erica Cerra), the A.I. that wreaked havoc in Season 3, to be implanted in the minds of Skaikru. But he’s also a character who has cheated death time and time again – he even managed to make it down from the Ark in space to the ground alive, all on his own, thanks to a crying baby hallucination, of all things. Insanity!
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Is Confusing Players About Established Canon
The new mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has caused fans some confusion with inconsistencies in the lore.
Polygon reports the game, which is set in 1984 between Voldemort’s first rise to infamy and Harry Potter’s tenure at Hogwarts, has some occurrences which buck the known canon.
Chief amongst these is the introduction of the racing-broom known as the Firebolt which, in the books, didn’t exist until 1993 when Harry became one of the first to own one.
During a flying class in Hogwarts Mystery a question crops up about the broom, which makes sense due to its likely prominence in the minds of fans. What doesn’t make sense is how they can expect your character to answer it when the broom shouldn’t even exist yet.
Everything You Need to Know About Fortnite Season 4
After weeks of rampant speculation, the mysterious Fortnite meteor has finally crash-landed, bringing with it the beginning of Battle Royale Season 4. The new season introduces big changes to the map, new skins, and much more. Here’s a rundown of everything we’ve gathered from the first day of Season 4.
The most notable change to the map in Season 4 is the destruction of Dusty Depot. The biggest chunk of the meteor crashed near the middle of the map, creating a massive crater where Dusty Depot used to stand. The area has been appropriately renamed Dusty Divot.
