Battlefield 5’s Firestorm Battle Royale Mode Release Date Announced

Battlefield 5’s long-awaited battle royale mode Firestorm will be added as a free update on March 25.

Firestorm will be a 64-player battle royale with the option to play solo or in squads of four, and will take place on a new map called Halvoy. EA says it’s “Battlefield’s biggest map ever,” roughly 10 times the size of Battlefield 5’s already huge Hamada map, and will have “expansive terrain that ranges from snow-covered mountains to open waterfronts and everything in between.”

A new cinematic reveal trailer gives us a first glimpse at that map and some of the other features of Firestorm, which includes airstrikes, vehicles, and destructible environments. You can watch that trailer above:

Explaining the Avengers New White suits

Happy new Avengers: Endgame trailer day! While at first glance the new trailer might seem to be heavy on flashback footage from previous films, in fact there’s quite a bit to dig into here and speculate about. Which is of course half the fun of these movies. Take, for example, those new Avengers: Endgame white suits. What’s the deal with those things?

The reveal of the suits comes near the end of the trailer, as we see a bunch of Avengers marching through the hangar bay of their headquarters The Right Stuff style (which, by the way, was one of the VHS movies Captain Marvel checked out in that Blockbuster Video in her film). A variety of Avengers — and at least one Guardian of the Galaxy — are donning the costumes, including Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, War Machine, Ant-Man and Nebula. (And yes, we know Ant-Man isn’t technically an Avenger in the MCU yet — though maybe he is by the time this scene takes place, as membership is definitely down since the Great Decimation).

Star Wars Episode 9 News Coming In April, But No Word On The Trailer

It appears Lucasfilm is gearing up to make some announcements about Star Wars: Episode IX. The company has confirmed that a panel dedicated to the upcoming film will be held during the Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago next month.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and director J.J. Abrams will appear on the panel, but that’s all we know for sure. The panel will feature “surprises and special guests,” according to the latest episode of the Star Wars Show. It’s unknown if any of the cast will appear on the panel or if we’ll finally get a trailer.

The panel will take place on Friday, April 12, and thankfully it’ll be streamed live. Episode IX is the final instalment in what’s called the “Skywalker Saga.”

It was originally expected to be directed by Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow, who had a different vision. Abrams, you may recall, directed 2015’s The Force Awakens.

Episode IX was initially announced with a May 2019 release date, but Lucasfilm delayed the film to December following the change of directors. It may be for the best, as Disney already has a massive release in Avengers: Endgame coming in late-April.

Episode IX brings back Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, and John Boyega, while Keri Russell, Dominic Monaghan, and Richard E. Grant are making their Star Wars franchise debuts with the new film.

It’s not just Episode IX that may get revealed at Star Wars Celebration. The new third-person Star Wars game from Apex Legends developer Respawn, Jedi Fallen Order, will be formally unveiled at the show–so keep checking back for more!
