Mortal Kombat loves itself some Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat 11 is essentially a love letter to the long-running and hyper-violent fighting game series. It wipes the slate clean with the use of time travel, allowing for some really fun nods to its storied past. Everything from character intros, acknowledgment of the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie, and even references to outside franchises are found throughout MK11.

Particularly, NetherRealm has become known for its efforts on the lore front and it shows in the plethora of lines of dialogue that call back to established character relationships and past story events. In addition to the wealth of returning characters and stages, Mortal Kombat 11 also features a new edition of the Krypt, allowing you to explore Shang Tsung’s island for the first time.

Below, we gathered some of the best (and strangest) Easter eggs and references we’ve found so far. Undoubtedly there will be ones we missed, so please post those in the comments below. Avengers: Endgame’s Biggest WTF Questions

First Impressions: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey in Labo VR

It’s been less than a month since Nintendo unleashed their Labo VR headset upon the skeptical world, and the response has been quite a bit better than expected. Days prior to the launch of their newest cardboard craftables, Nintendo made the surprise announcement that Switch best-sellers The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey would both receive VR compatibility via free software updates in the near future. That time has come, and the results are making my head spin.

The Zelda series is known for its memorable locations and sprawling overworlds, and Breath of the Wild is certainly the most massive. I was excited to gaze upon the beauty of Hyrule in all directions and perhaps get a new perspective on a puzzles or two through my Labo VR headset. As I moved my head back and forth and up and down, taking in the view and adjusting to the new motion controls, I was immediately met with a wave of motion sickness. This was a surprise, as I hadn’t had any issues with nausea during my initial dozen hours Nintendo DIY VR headset.

How Avengers: Endgame Picks Up On THAT Infinity War Plot Thread

Thanks to a little time travel to the year 2014, Gamora plays a key role in Avengers: Endgame despite being killed by Thanos in Infinity War. However, her whereabouts at the end of the movie raise some questions, so here’s a breakdown of what happened to her and if the original Gamora is dead or alive.

First things first…

Is the Original Gamora Still Dead?

Unfortunately, all signs point to the original Gamora still being dead. Thanos did kill her to trade her soul for the Soul Stone in Infinity War, but with all the time travel hijinks, Black Widow also dying for the Soul Stone, and the Hulk snapping the Vanished back to life, it’s not unreasonable to think the original Gamora could have also found a way back to the land of the living. But as Hulk explained, he tried his hardest to bring Black Widow back to no avail, so we can assume the same rule applies to the original Gamora. It seems when a soul is traded for the Soul Stone, it’s a permanent exchange that not even the combined Infinity Stones can reverse.

How to Get the Most out of Days Gone

Sure, Days Gone has some problems (as detailed in our Days Gone review), but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a fun ride. It’s a slow build-up, but if you know what to do first and what to focus on, you can get up to speed and get the most out of Days Gone, fast.

How Did Captain America Do THAT In Avengers: Endgame?

Captain America was able to make the mighty Mjolnir budge only a bit in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but in Endgame he was able lift Thor’s hammer and use it to bring the fight and the lightning to Thanos. So what changed that let Cap finally lift the hammer?

The Rule of Mjolnir

As we saw in the first Thor movie, Odin enchanted the hammer so it may only be used by the worthy. In the comics, this rule was essentially the same, and a small selection of Marvel characters aside from Thor were able to lift it on rare occasions, including Steve Rogers, who did so twice.

Once was while Steve was operating as The Captain and he merely picked up the hammer to wallop some villains and give it back to Thor.
