The internet has been buzzing ever since Marvel revealed what Phase 4 will bring to the MCU. After the dust settled at San Diego Comic Con, we polled the IGN community to see which additions you were most excited for, and the results are in.

#1 Favorite Marvel Movie Announcement at SDCC:

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Votes: 6,787/21,951

In the wake of Endgame, all eyes are on the Sorcerer Supreme, and over 6,700 votes brought Doctor Strange to the top of the “most anticipated” list.

There is a lot of promise in the name of the film, and we’ll just have to wait to find out exactly what Marvel has in store for everyone’s favorite surgeon-turned-superhero when the “Multiverse of Madness” hits theaters on May 7, 2021.

#2 Favorite Marvel Movie Announcement at SDCC:

Blade

Votes: 6,432/21,951

Perhaps the biggest surprise of San Diego Comic-Con was the return of Blade. When Mahershala Ali’s appearance heralded the return of the Daywalker, the crowd went wild, and the hype has barely died down since, as Blade ranked #2 as the IGN community’s favorite Marvel film announcement with over 6,400 votes.

Unfortunately, Blade won’t be part of Phase 4, so we’ll have to wait to find out when we’ll be able to see the vampire hunter on the big screen once again.

Thor: Love and Thunder

Votes: 6,257/21,951

Another momentous reveal which rocked the internet was Jane Foster’s return in Thor: Love and Thunder, this time taking up the mantle of the Goddes of Thunder, herself.

Claiming over 6,200 votes, Thor: Love and Thunder ranked at #3 on the list of Favorite Marvel Movie Announcements. Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters on Nov. 5, 2021.

#4 Favorite Marvel Movie Announcement at SDCC:

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Votes: 977/21,951

While “The Mandarin” in Iron Man 3 might not have been all he seemed, legends spoke of a true Mandarin who was still out there. With the reveal of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Kevin Feige confirmed as much. Shang-Chi hasn’t been a Marvel mainstay, but the announcement was still the favorite for nearly 1,000 IGN community members.

The Mandarin will be played by Tony Leung, and we’ll have to wait until Feb. 12, 2021, to find out what sinister plans the villain has for Simu Liu’s incarnation of Shang-Chi. To learn all about Shang-Chi, be sure to check out our explainer.

#5 Favorite Marvel Movie Announcement at SDCC:

Eternals

Votes: 783/21,951

With big names like Kumail Nanjiani, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Brian Tyree Henry, and more attached, it’s no surprise that nearly 800 IGN community members were excited about the announcement of the upcoming Eternals movie.

Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow has been a big part of the MCU since her debut in Iron Man 2 way back in 2010. Marvel’s announcement that her long-teased solo film is coming to the big screen on May 1, 2020 comes in at #6 with over 700 votes.

Natasha Romanoff will have her work cut out for her, as the formidable Taskmaster has been revealed as the film’s villain. The Black Widow comes to theaters on May 1, 2020.

As you progress through the story of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, you’ll encounter items that you can find exploring the Monastery, given as rewards, or bought in certain shops. These Gift items are to be used as presents given to other characters.

Doing this can increase the rate at which your bonds increase with characters you give gifts to, which can be essential for getting new Support Ranks. This will also increase a character’s motivation – if they are a part of your team.

Most gifts that are given will increase a character’s bond by a little, and their motivation by 25. A gift that a character really likes will increase their bond by a lot more, and their motivation by 50. If a character doesn’t like the gift, they’ll stick take it, but will not increase their bond or motivation at all.

Getting at least a C Support Rank with character outside your house can lower the threshold needed to recruit them into your team, so giving gifts is highly recommended. It’s also important to note that the effectiveness of a gift – or whether they’ll like it all – is dependant on that unit’s likes and dislikes (which can be seen in the Unit Info in the roster), or by paying attention to their conversations. Certain Gifts have a higher rating, which will increase the amount of bond that is increased (if the character approves of the gift).

Note that certain Gifts can be bought from Merchant vendors after completing an early side quest to allow merchants passage through Magdred Way to reach the Monastery to sell their goods, and they will sell a select variety of gifts that replenish each month.

Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood is not only a work of historical fiction mixing real-life figures like Sharon Tate, Charles Manson, Bruce Lee, and Steve McQueen alongside the fictional co-leads played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, it’s also one giant Easter egg to the filmmaker’s many cinematic and pop cultural influences (and even to his other films).With all that in mind, let’s break down the film’s twist ending, its many Easter eggs, and influences.

Needless to say then, be mindful of SPOILERS ahead for the film and for history (?!), starting with …

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Gallery

Ending Explained

Obviously, Sharon Tate and her friends didn’t escape the Manson family in real life. Tate, her three guests, and another friend were all killed. Their killers were caught and incarcerated.

As Tarantino has fashioned a work of historical fiction, he has — as he also did with Inglourious Basterds, where Hitler died before he really did — once again foisted a fantasy “Hollywood ending” onto a historical tragedy.

In doing so, Tarantino gives Sharon Tate the extended life and screen career reality denied her. And thanks to Rick and Cliff’s (and Brandy’s!) killing of the Manson family members, Tarantino also opens the door for Rick to enjoy a more fruitful second phase of his acting career than he’s so far had. It’s a true Hollywood ending for both the real and the fictional characters in Tarantino’s film.

Who Inspired Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth?

Tarantino recently revealed that Brad Pitt’s badass stuntman Cliff Booth is indeed inspired by a particularly dangerous old timey stuntman, who he wouldn’t name but who intimidated even other tough guys and stuntmen back in the day.

Cliff possibly murdering his wife on a boat and getting away with it echoes the rumors that have swirled around actor Robert Wagner and the death of his wife, screen star Natalie Wood, for the last few decades.

The relationship between actor Rick Dalton and his stunt double/best friend Cliff Booth is directly modeled on the friendship between Burt Reynolds and stuntman-turned-director Hal Needham, both of whom are now deceased. Like Rick, Burt Reynolds was a TV western actor who struggled to catch a break in films before becoming a sought-after big screen actor after starring in Deliverance. Reynolds was to have played George Spahn — the real-life elderly owner of the delaptated movie ranch where the Manson family resided — In OUATIH but passed away before shooting his scenes. (He was replaced by Bruce Dern.) Had he lived to film his role, Reynolds’ inclusion would have been a direct nod to his and Needham’s influence on the film.

Like Cliff, Needham, who directed Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit, was a war veteran who became a stuntman and doubled for the star of a hugely popular TV western. In Cliff’s case, it was Bounty Law, starring Rick Dalton as Jake Cahill. Needham doubled for Richard Boone, who played the wandering gun-for-here Paladin on Have Gun, Will Travel.

One other inspiration for Rick might be Clint Eastwood, who found stardom on the small screen as Rowdy Yates on Rawhide before, several years later, finding big screen success thanks to starring in a series of classic spaghetti westerns from director Sergio Leone.

It should also be noted that one of the victims of the Manson family was Hollywood stuntman Donald Shea, which could speak to why Tarantino depicted a scene where stuntman Cliff becomes suspicious of the hippes his old pal George Spahn invited to live on his ranch.

All the Real People in It

Sharon Tate and the other targets of the Manson family — Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, and Wojciech Frykowski — depicted here are obviously all real people, as were Manson himself and his followers Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, and Patricia Krenwinkel, and Linda Kasabian, the latter of whom became a cooperating witness at trial but is shown in the movie as fleeing before the crimes begin. (Ditto Dakota Fanning as Manson follower Squeaky Fromme.) Obviously, the fates of all the aforementioned people differ greatly in real life than what transpired in the film.

Unless you’re brand new to the planet Earth, yes, Bruce Lee was a real guy, the greatest martial artist-star of his time (arguably, of all time). Lee is depicted in the film, by Mike Moh, during his time starring as Kato on The Green Hornet. And, yes, he really did train Sharon Tate in karate when she was co-starring in the Dean Martin spy spoof The Wrecking Crew.

Homeland’s Damian Lewis plays Steve McQueen in one scene set at the Playboy Mansion. McQueen, like Rick Dalton, began as the star of a TV western about a bounty hunter — Wanted: Dead or Alive —before he became a movie star and pop culture icon thanks to films like The Magnificent Seven, Bullitt, and The Great Escape, which Rick fantasizes about starring in instead of McQueen at one point.

Timothy Olyphant and the late Luke Perry also play real people in the movie. Yes, Lancer was a real TV series and the actors they play — James Stacey and Wayne Maunder — were real. The last shot we see of Olyphant in the film, driving off on his motorcycle, is also a harbinger of the tragic fate that lay in store for Stacey (he lost two limbs and his girlfriend was killed in a motorcycle accident when they were hit by a drunk driver).

Also real? The TV series The FBI that Rick films a guest spot on as the bad guy of the week.

The Mamas and Papas’ Michelle Phillips and Mama Cass pop up during the Playboy Mansion scene.

With his silver mane and oversized glasses, Al Pacino’s Marvin Schwarzs appears to be patterned after legendary Hollywood talent agent Lew Wasserman.

One of the spaghetti westerns Rick stars In is said to have been directed by Antonio Margheriti, a real-life filmmaker who Tarantino is a fan of … enough so that this isn’t his first mention in a Tarantino movie. Speaking of which …

Nods to Tarantino’s Other Movies

Antonio Margheriti is also the filmmaker whose name is used by Eli Roth’s character in Inglourious Basterds when they sneak into the Nazis’ film premiere.

Rick’s commercial for Red Apple cigarettes during the end credits is also a nod to the cigarette brand that has appeared in other Tarantino films such as Pulp Fiction and The Hateful Eight.

Tarantino vets Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, Zoe Bell, and Bruce Dern all pop up in small roles here. Another Tarantino vet, Tim Roth, had his role in the film end up on the cutting room floor.

So exactly how widespread was this Joy-Con drift issue? We asked the lovely IGN community to chime in with whether or not their Switch Joy-Cons experienced drift, and a whopping 26,000 of you responded.

The grand champion of the Fortnite

World Cup finals has been crowned. Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, a 16-year-old American boy, took home the trophy and a $3 million prize.

Giersdorf is a player for the Sentinels group, and managed to careen past his 99 other opponents by a wide margin, earning a total of 59 points. The runner up, Psalm, scored 33 points by comparison over the finals’ six matches. The World Cup used a point-scoring system that encouraged players to not only place higher up in the ranking, but also eliminate opponents, as to discourage players from simply hiding until the end game.

“Words can’t even explain [how I feel] right now,” Giersdorf said from the Champion’s circle. “I’m just so happy. Everything I’ve done, the grind, it’s all paid off. It’s just insane.”

Notably, Bugha won by such a large spread that, unlike the duos finals on Saturday, there was almost no delay in calculating that he had won the overall tournament. Bugha’s aggression in the early matches put him at an advantage, allowing him to play more conservatively in later matches, entering match 6 with a 15-point lead.

The Fortnite duos tournament held similarly charged energy, despite some controversy over a pair of known Fortnite cheaters being booed.

The writers of DC’s upcoming New Gods film seem to be teasing the inclusion of iconic DC supervillain, Darkseid.In a post on Twitter, New Gods co-writer Tom King posed with fellow New Gods writer and director, Ava DuVernay, while wearing a “Darkseid Is” shirt. The post simply says, “Ava is,” making two references to the “Darkseid is” concept King spoke to IGN about in a recent interview.

Darkseid is certainly the most well-known of the New Gods, so but does this mean the imposing New God will stop being a distant threat and finally grace the silver screen in the upcoming DC film? So far, those involved are staying tight-lipped, so we’ll have to wait to find out.

Disney has earned $7.67 billion at the box office in 2019, shattering the previous record for a total year’s earnings, which was also set by Disney in 2016 with $7.61 billion, according to Variety.

The new record is notable in part because, well, it’s only just the end of July, and Disney still has Frozen 2, a Maleficent sequel, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker debuting later this year.

The new $7.67 billion record includes $5.09 billion earned from overseas markets, making it the first time any studio has crossed the $5 billion mark internationally.

If you include its Marvel properties, Disney has had an understandably remarkable year for ongoing franchises, remakes, or new IPs. Captain Marvel crossed $1 billion, and Avengers: Endgame recently became the highest-grossing film ever, beating out James Cameron’s Avatar.

Despite some less-than-amazing reviews, Disney’s live-action Aladdin movie grossed more than $1 billion globally. Toy Story 4 is likely to gross more than $1 billion by the end of its theatrical run thanks to strong reception. All this means that Disney could also break the record for most consecutive billion-dollar film releases in 2019. To no one’s surprise, they hold the current record at four films. The Lion King remake is on track to crack $1 billion after two weeks in theaters, currently sitting at $962 million.

All of this comes as little surprise, considering Disney’s ongoing march of high-profile acquisitions, the most recent of which was Fox. That acquisition means that Disney now owns every superhero franchise that Fox previously owned, including the X-Men. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased that X-Men would be coming to the MCU in some form at this year’s Comic Con.

Altogether, Disney now accounts for about 45% of the $16 billion earned by films across the globe in 2019, according to Hollywood Reporter. Warner Bros. is Disney’s closest competitor, earning $2 billion this year so far.

A pair of Fortnite

World Cup competitors, formerly banned by Epic for cheating, were the target of much ire Saturday, as the crowd loudly booed one’s appearance onscreen and subsequently cheered for their loss.

XXiF was competing in Saturday’s Fortnite World Cup duos tournament alongside his partner Ronaldo. During the tournament’s fourth match, XXiF was shown on the stadium’s giant screen for the first time. The crowd gradually booed XXiF louder and louder, until 100 Thieves clan player Elevate quickly eliminated him.

Video footage captured by multiple individuals on social media shows the crowd’s ecstatic reaction to XXiF’s elimination.

Epic Games previously banned XXiF and Ronaldo from Fortnite for 14 days, after an internal review found that the players had colluded with other players in order to acquire easy elimination points during week 3 of the Fortnite World Cup qualifiers, according to Dexerto. The pair were subsequently dropped from their team, Rise Nation. That initially sounded like the end of the whole matter, but then XXiF and Ronaldo qualified during the week 8 qualifier, finishing in third place and securing a spot during the finals.

XXiF and Ronaldo ended up placing 28th during the duos finals, securing them $50,000 each in prize money. The Fortnite community was initially angry with the decision to let XXiF and Ronaldo back in, and some at the World Cup finals could be seen visibly protesting XXiF’s participation, such as this man in the picture below wearing a “Lock XXiF Up” shirt from Reddit.

In a TwitLonger post, Ronaldo addressed the crowd’s reaction to his and XXiF’s loss.

“Damn today was rough,” Ronaldo wrote. “‪Quick message to my supporters, all of you guys know who you are. I know the crowd and a lot of people still aren’t with us. But I really appreicate (sic) everyone that has been with me since the beginning. Things will only get brighter and I will continue to improve‬. Thank you so much to all you real ones. Another shoutout to my team RiotSquad for supporting xxif and I even through all the horrible things people are saying about us.”

Epic has not addressed the community’s reaction in any public way beyond the initial ban.

If you already know how to open The Sims 4 Cheat Console (see the paragraph below if you don’t), use these links to quickly jump to each of The Sims 4 cheats sections:

In order to use cheats in The Sims 4, you’ll first need to open the cheat console. To activate it:

• On PC, hold CTRL and Shift, then press C.
• On Mac, hold Command and Shift, then press C.
• On PlayStation 4, hold all four shoulder buttons at once.
• On Xbox One, hold all four shoulder buttons at once.

Once opened, the cheat console will appear as a thin box at the top of the screen. Into that, you can type any of the cheats below or on other pages. To close the cheat console, simply press the same keys or buttons.

Some cheats require you to first this:

(Note that “true” above can be replaced with the word “on” as well.)

When TestingCheats is enabled, other cheats can also be toggled. To turn off TestingCheats, type this into the cheat console:

Additionally, some cheats require shift-clicking Sims or objects on the PC or Mac. To execute a shift-click on consoles, hold Circle and press X (on PlayStation 4) or hold B and press A (on Xbox One).

After the large Sims 4 redesign patch in 2019 and with TestingCheats enabled, enter both of the following codes to unlock debug items:

Note that when the codes are entered, there will be no indication they worked in the cheat console. You can copy-and-paste to make sure they are entered exactly as needed.

With both codes entered, you can search Build Mode for “DEBUG” in the bottom-left corner. Don’t be surprised of a list of “DEBUG” entries appear directly above it on subsequent searches as seen below.

The search will show you a list of almost every object in the game that is ordinarily blocked off from the player. This mainly includes decorative objects usually reserved for public lots, such as non-driveable cars or entire background houses. None of these decorative objects actually work; the cars cannot be interacted with and the house props cannot be entered.

There are some workable objects in the list however. For example, you can find and place a sign that marks a fishing spot wherever you wish, including on your property as seen below.

Most of the debug objects are free to place. Some, such as public toilets or other useable objects generally found on public lots, may cost simoleons to place. However, if you’re using cheats to access the debug menu anyway, you may as well enter this classic cheat several times:

That will add in §50,000 each time you use it, and even a single instance will generally get you enough money to place down and debug objects you may wish to use. While their functions are limited, the decorative objects can allow you to build a lot exactly how you wish.

To control the Grim Reaper you can add him to your household if someone else dies. With testingcheatsenabled on, shift+click on the Grim Reaper before he leaves, and click Add to Family.

The MoveObjects (or Move_Objects) cheat is a classic from the Sims franchise, and it returns in The Sims 4. To activate it, you must first open the cheat console. Into the box, type the following line including punctuation:

bb.moveobjects

The coding serves as a toggle, so if you need to turn it off, simply re-enter the code. You can close the cheat console by pressing the same combination of keys or buttons as you did to open it.

MoveObjects used to be used in the Sims franchise to shift household objects when Sims were stuck. The cheat is no longer necessary for this; even without cheats or mods, you can move objects at any time even if a Sim is interacting with them, and the Sim will terminate their actions and reset themselves to a nearby tile.

However, MoveObjects in Sims 4 has additional features. With the cheat enabled, objects can be moved vertically or onto surfaces they should not be able to be placed. You can place tables onto beds, or toilets onto pools! Note that when used this way, Sims often cannot use the object in question; they wouldn’t be able to physically reach it to trigger the object’s animation scripts. The cheat can be used instead to design houses in unique ways.
