Red Dead 2 PC Crashes On Startup, According To Some Players

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out on PC, but startup errors are giving some players trouble. One editor at GameSpot experienced several back-to-back crashes in Red Dead 2 on PC while trying to load into the campaign and during the opening cutscene. According to Reddit, one of the most common errors players are receiving states, “Red Dead Redemption 2 exited unexpectedly. Please click Retry below to enter the game again, or click Safe Mode to launch the game with reduced graphics settings. If you continue to have problems playing the game, please contact Rockstar Games Customer Service at https://support.rockstargames.com,” followed by options to exit out, retry, and re-launch with safe mode enabled. Some users have even reported issues with the Rockstar Games Launcher.

If you’re among those experiencing issues, we have a potential solution to fix Red Dead 2 crashes. At the very least, it worked for one of us here at GameSpot.

The Red Dead community on Reddit is currently compiling a list of PC launch issues with some community-sourced troubleshooting tips, including disabling your antivirus. GameSpot has not verified the effectiveness of the methods suggested on Reddit as of yet, and would recommend players also consult the official Rockstar Games support site, especially the page setup for the “exited unexpectedly” error. Rockstar recommends players having issues with Red Dead 2 on PC try running the game as an administrator or updating their graphics drivers.

Other launch issues players have reported on Reddit include audio problems, issues with the Rockstar Games Launcher, and FPS drops. For the FPS drops, the Red Dead community on Reddit suggests switching graphics API from Vulkan to DirectX12 for Nvidia users, but many in the comments warn that this doesn’t work. GameSpot recommends proceeding with caution and waiting for Rockstar’s official support line to address the issue.

Fantastic Beasts 3 Is Finally Moving Forward After Delays

While Harry Potter fans only had to wait two years between the first two movies in the spin-off Fantastic Beasts series, it’s taking a while longer for the third movie to get here. The film was originally set to shoot this summer, but after some delay, it has now been reported that it will finally start production in Spring 2020.

According to Deadline, Warner has greenlit Fantastic Beasts 3 ahead of its November 2021 release date. The film will start shooting next spring and will once more star Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, and Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald. Other actors set to return include Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, and Katherine Waterston.

Deadline also states that Jessica Williams, who appeared briefly in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks, will have a more prominent role this time round. David Yates, who helmed the previous two films and four Harry Potter movies, is set to return to the director’s chair. While plot details are currently underwraps, the movie will reportedly be set in Rio de Janeiro.

Production on Fantastic Beasts 3 has been delayed twice–it was originally set to start this summer, and was then moved to the fall. In January, it was reported that production had been moved to allow the film’s creative teams more time to work on it. While The Crimes of Grindelwald made $648.8 million worldwide, it was still less than Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’s $814 million gross. The movie also received very mixed reviews.

Star Wars: C-3PO Actor Anthony Daniels Open to Another Taking on Role

Star Wars veteran Anthony Daniels has admitted that he would “accept” another actor stepping into his iconic character’s gold-plated shoes beyond the release of The Rise of Skywalker.

The C-3PO star seemingly laid his parts on the line in a recent interview with Radio Times, as he opened up about the possibility of his role moving forward without him, insisting that the galaxy’s beloved protocol droid is “too good of character, too big of a character” to fade into history.

This Acclaimed RPG Is Free On iPhone And iPad For A Limited Time

With Apple Arcade delivering a steady stream of high-quality mobile games, there’s really never been a better time to game on iOS devices. You should take a break from filling up your iPhone’s storage space with Apple Arcade games to download Bastion, as Supergiant Games’ 2011 debut is currently free for a limited time.

The original iOS version published by Warner Bros. was delisted last week. An updated version published by Supergiant just popped up on the App Store, and the studio responsible for the whimsical action-RPG is graciously giving it away free of charge until the end of the year.

No Caption Provided

We tried searching for Bastion in the App Store, but it seems the new listing isn’t appearing in to search results just yet. After downloading, you need to unlock the full game. Bastion boots directly to the beginning of the game rather than a menu screen. After playing for about ten seconds, the settings wheel will appear in the upper right-hand corner. Click on the wrench/hammer icon, and you’ll see a button that reads “Unlock $0.00.” Bastion is now in your iOS game library forever!

In Bastion, you play as the Kid, a young adventurer on a fantastical journey narrated by an old man named Rucks. Throughout the story, you fight your way through enemy-infested levels comprised of floating environments that continuously appear as you walk. The end goal is to collect the cores that made the city of Caelondia tick before the world-altering event known as the Calamity. Earning an impressive 8.5/10 in GameSpot’s Bastion review, the game became a runaway hit.

Supergiant Games went on to create three more compelling indies: Transistor, Pyre, and Hades, which is currently in early access.

Cyberpunk 2077 Has Twice As Much Keanu Reeves, At Actor’s Request

Cyberpunk 2077 got a big reception at E3 thanks to the surprise reveal of the character Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves. The character is actually showing up more than CD Projekt Red originally planned, though, thanks to Reeves himself.

WCCF Tech reports that at the Lucca Comics and Games festival, voice actor Luca Ward said that his recording time had been doubled thanks to Reeves pushing for Silverhand to have more time. The report, translated from an Italian interview, suggests that Reeves was enjoying playing the part and asked to have a bigger presence in the game.

We had previously heard a similar account from senior level designer Miles Tost about Reeves’ affinity for the character and world. Tost said because Reeves is known for cyberpunk-like stories such as The Matrix and Johnny Mnemonic, it was “a very natural match made in heaven.” He also said Reeves seemed “very passionate about the project and the role he’s playing.”

Reeves’ surprise stage appearance at Microsoft’s E3 conference made him one of the unexpected stars of E3. Cyberpunk 2077 is coming April 16, 2020. For more details check out our pre-order guide.

Disney+ Will Display Starz Ads To Get Star Wars: The Force Awakens Back

What’s great about streaming services is that most of them don’t have any ads–this is especially true if you pay a little extra for Hulu. However, as part of a licensing deal with Starz, there will be display ads promoting the movie channel on Disney+ on the login screen.

As first reported by The Verge, the ads appeared on the login page for both Disney+ and ESPN+. This is all because of a revised licensing deal with Starz, which currently has the rights to some of Disney’s films, like Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In order to have these Disney-owned movies streaming on Disney+, the service will feature Starz display ads–the company that currently has the streaming rights–as part of this deal. However, there will be no ads at all once users sign into the service. This only appears on the login page.

Since the announcement of Disney+, the streaming service was going to be completely supported by its subscribers–which is still true–and the service would also be free of advertising. However, before Disney+ was a reality, the company had licensed out so many films to various services and networks over the years–like when Netflix had every Marvel and Star Wars movie on its service. So an ad on the login page in order to get a Star Wars movie onto Disney+ isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Disney+ arrives on November 12. The service will cost $7 a month or it can be bundled with ESPN+ and the ad-supported version of Hulu for $13. Verizon subscribers can get the service free for a year if they have an unlimited plan. People got their first look at the app back in April, and it sure did look a lot like Netflix. The biggest thing to arrive to the service on day one is the Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian.

New Bad Boys For Life Trailer Delivers All The Action And Jokes You Need

The new trailer for Bad Boys For Life is here. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return as rule-breaking cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett for the long-awaited third movie in the action series, which hit theaters on January 17, 2020.

The latest trailer delivers exactly what you’d expect from a new Bad Boys movie. There’s plenty of wise-cracking dialogue and outlandish action, plus a few jokes about Smith and Lawrence being somewhat older than they were when the series kicked off in 1995. The trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot–beyond Mike and Marcus being teamed up with a team of younger cops for one last mission together–but let’s face it, it’s not the storylines that have made this series so popular. Check the trailer out above.

Bad Boys For Life also sees the return of Joe Pantoliano as Captain Howard, and the cast also includes Alexander Ludwig (Vikings), Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Paola Nuñez (The Purge TV seres), Charles Melton (Riverdale), and Happy Anderson (The Tick). The movie is directed by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, who have also been hired for Beverly Hills Cop reboot.

Bad Boys For Life has taken its time to get here. It was originally set to be released in 2017, but production delays and the departure of director Joe Carnahan means that it didn’t start shooting until last last year. There was also a fourth movie planned, which was scrapped during the various delays.

The first Bad Boys was directed by Michael Bay and released in 1995. It was a huge hit, making $141 million worldwide on a $19 million budget, while 2003’s Bad Boys II made $273 million worldwide.
