Teen Wolf stars Charlie and Max Carver have reportedly dropped down into Gotham City to feature in Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman, alongside Robert Pattinson’s caped crusader.
According to a recent report from The A.V. Club, the twin actors have been confirmed as the latest stars to join the extensive cast of the DC movie reboot, with production “keeping any other details under the cowl for now.”
While the report indicates that Max and Charlie have been cast in unspecified roles, speculation has been rife over which characters they could potentially portray, with suggestions ranging from Max and Min, the twin henchmen employed by Two-Face, to Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the two supervillains modelled on the bumbling brothers from Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland tale.
Others have proposed that Max and Charlie, who previously starred together in Desperate Housewives, Teen Wolf, and The Leftovers, could emerge as the Trigger Twins, a pair of gunslingers who first appeared in 1951’s All-Star Western #58 before being reimagined and reintroduced as a dangerous criminal duo, known as Tom and Tad Trigger, in 1993’s Detective Comics #667.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is getting two big updates today on the Nintendo Eshop. Along with the release of the multiplayer DLC, some substantial features have have been added to the game for everyone.
This is the first of two planned DLC multiplayer packs for Luigi’s Mansion 3, and it adds three new costumes that Luigi can wear in the ScareScraper mode. Three matching spooky themes will randomly transform the tower’s floors, along with five new themed ghost encounters. These themes ghosts will only appear when Luigi wears one of the new costumes, along with the floor changing themes.
The three new costumes added in part one.
Three new games have been added to ScreamPark as part of the DLC: Dodgebrawl, River Band, and Tricky Ghost Hunt. All Screampark modes can now be played with just one player in practice mode, regardless of whether you have the DLC or not. An Album mode has also been added to the main menu, where players can listen to the game’s soundtrack.
The second part of the multiplayer DLC Pack will be released at the end of July, adding additional game modes and outfits. You can purchase the DLC Park for $9.99 on the Nintendo Eshop. Once purchased, you will receive an in-game Polterpup light called the ‘Flashlight Type-P” that can used in Story Mode or ScareScraper
Patch 1.3.0 is required to unlock the new multiplayer content. This patch also adds some new features, along with a number of fixes made to the single player campaign. The patch can be downloaded without purchasing the DLC Pack on the Nintendo Eshop.
An all new 20-floor option has been added to the ScareScraper game mode, this new mode does not require the new DLC Pack to play, instead it is included in the 1.3.0 patch.
Some bugs in the game’s story mode have been fixed as well. Here are the patch notes:
Fixed an issue that prevented Luigi from moving near the door when capturing a Boo in the hallway of the Hotel Shops.
Fixed an issue that prevented Luigi from moving behind a bench in Studio 3 of Paranormal Productions.
Fixed an issue that prevented the game from progressing after touching the shark fin on the beach of The Spectral Catch.
Fixed several issues to improve gameplay experience.
General fixes to improve the overall gameplay experience have also been implemented, however, the patch does not go into detail about what these improvements are.

Pixar is one of the biggest and most successful film studios in the world, so anytime the company releases a new movie it’s a big deal. Pixar’s next movie is Onward, a story about two elven brothers who set out on a grand adventure. Tom Holland and Chris Pratt voice the two main characters.
But how much money is Onward expected to make over its first weekend and how does that compare to previous Pixar movies? According to Deadline, Onward is expected to make $50 million or more in the US for its opening weekend, with another $45 million – $55 million from international markets to give the film a strong $90 million – 105 million opening weekend.
Onward is directed by Monsters University director Dan Scanlon. Octavia Spencer and Julia Louis-Dreyfus also have major voice roles in the movie.
For comparison, Toy Story 4 made $120.9 million in the US alone for its opening weekend. Onward of course isn’t expected to make those numbers because it’s a new film instead of a sequel.
Better comparisons might be to other standalone Pixar movies. 2017’s Inside Out made $90.4 million in the US for its opening weekend, while 2009’s Up pulled in $68.1 million domestically in its first weekend. Onward’s first-weekend US box office estimate of $50 million would put it just ahead of 2007’s Ratatouille, which made $47 million over its opening weekend in the US.
Deadline reports that the impact of the coronavirus for Onward is expected to be minimal, especially so given that Pixar films never do very well in China where thousands of theatres are currently closed.
Onward is Pixar’s 22nd movie, and the first since 2019’s Toy Story 4. It’s also the first Pixar movie to release following the company’s statement that it wants to move away from sequels and make more original films.

The Google Stadia website has just been updated with a feature that people have been waiting for since the system’s launch–the ability to access your game capture library. The Stadia controller features a “capture” button, but until now players have not been able to share the screenshots and videos they take.
Stadia has today announced that the much-wanted feature is now live, and players can log into their accounts and access their game capture libraries to show off their best shots and videos from Stadia games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Borderlands 3.
The latest Stadia update is live! Our game capture library is now available on https://t.co/AoYhdVnzGu 📸 Download & save your in-game screenshots and videos on web to show off your legendary gear, brutal finishers, or just some scenic views.
The capture functionality of Stadia is similar to the Nintendo Switch–you can either press the button once for a screenshot or hold it down to capture the last 30 seconds of gameplay. Stadia owners with a Pro subscription are able to save up to 500 video clips and unlimited screenshots. Owners without a subscription can only save 100 clips.
The option is not yet available on the Stadia mobile app.
Before he directed the action-centric John Wick movies, Chad Stahelski was known for his stunt work and fight choreography work on a long list of popular films like 300, Live Free or Die Hard, and 2008’s Rambo. And as a fun piece of trivia, he was the stunt double for Keanu Reeves’s Neo in the original Matrix. The John Wick movies only increased his profile further, and now we’re getting the first word on his next movie.
Deadline reports that Stahelski will direct a “high concept” car movie for Paramount that aims to “capture the spirit of the great car movies, with a unique central relationship at its center.”
No other details were provided about the movie. Given his long run of success with action combat movies, it’s really exciting to think about what Stahelski might do with a film focused around cars. Remember the epic car chase from the original John Wick? Yeah, I’ll take a full movie of that.
The script for the untitled movie will be written by Andre Nemec and Josh Applebaum (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Beverly Hills Cop 4), with A Quiet Place producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller lined up to produce.
There is no word on when Stahelski’s new car movie will release. The next John Wick movie, John Wick 4, is slated for release in 2021, but it’s unclear if Stahelski is directing.
Stahelski most recently was brought in by Birds of Prey director Cathy Yan to do some of the second unit directing for the re-shoots. His team at 87Eleven, however, worked with Yan and her team for the entirety of the production to help improve the action scenes, Yan told Collider.
I love Apex Legends‘ new Evo Shield, the first item that Respawn has added to its battle royale that isn’t a weapon or weapon attachment. I hope it’s permanently added to the game.
For now, the Evo Shield is limited to Deja Loot, the new mode added to Apex Legends during the System Override event. The glowing body shield begins out weaker than a common white body shield but grows more powerful as you damage enemies–ultimately maxing out just above a legendary gold body shield.
As the Evo Shield evolves, it doesn’t automatically heal itself. So to take full advantage of the Evo Shield, you need to carry extra shield cells and batteries to keep the armor fully charged. If you don’t want to make the climb yourself, you can loot Evo Shields off of other players as individual Evo Shields will maintain their level even after their users have fallen.
Using an Evo Shield is risky. Its default form is incredibly weak and you generally don’t get to enjoy the benefits of leveling it up until a fight is over, seeing as the shield doesn’t fully charge when it evolves. Plus, with how the in-match inventory system has changed, holding extra shield healing items can be detrimental.
But I love this system of risk vs reward, especially since the Evo Shield specifically rewards careful aggression. You have to pick and choose your battles–the Evo Shield’s first two levels are so weak that you could be at a disadvantage–but you do have to choose to battle because you only get the full benefit of the Evo Shield by dealing damage.
When most people are fighting in Apex Legends, they go for one of two extremes–fully commit to engaging on an enemy team or retreat from the fight. The Evo Shield rewards players who are willing to try other strategies, such as flanking an enemy’s position, taking a few shots at a team too far away to commit to, or utilizing an ultimate ability to split up an enemy squad.
These aren’t glamorous roles, but doing them can now reward you with powerful body shields. Players will likely begin adopting these strategies, all of which add a significant new wrinkle to a battle royale that’s largely been focused around close-range engagements. Previously, a pesky sniper simply resulted in the loss of a few shield cells or a battery. Now that same sniper is growing stronger with each subsequent hit. If you don’t hide or move in on them, they’ll become a much more significant threat.
At full strength, the Evo Shield is red. Though it can take more hits than a legendary gold body shield, a red Evo Shield does not provide the faster healing item usage perk.
It now suddenly pays to commit to a fight a little early or just shoot at a fight even if you’re just running past it, if only to get a few shots in and buff your Evo Shield. With the Evo Shield in play, players need to reexamine each area of World’s Edge in a brand-new light. You can’t just consider third-party squads will immediately move in on you–some now might remain on the outskirts and wait for a flanker or sniper to buff themselves before moving in.
In simpler terms, the Evo Shield basically encourages your squad to utilize rotations and move about the map strategically–a habit that’s easier to pick up thanks to the nature of Deja Loot, which sees loot spawn in the same location for every match. At least in the few matches of Deja Loot I’ve played so far, squads moved about more purposively than before, setting themselves up in ideal locations prior to attacking. Those with Evo Shields typically stayed back or rotated out of the firefight quickly, buffing themselves and healing before committing to the fray to finish the fight. And I’m all about encouraging randoms to consider how to fight, not just whether or not to fight.
As mentioned before, the Evo Shield is, for now, exclusive to Deja Loot. However, Respawn wants to add the item to Apex Legends’ regular game modes. “After the event, we’ll gather feedback–see what people think,” Respawn design director Jason McCord said during Apex Legends Devstream #4. “The intention is to turn [Evo Shields] on for the full game afterward.”

It may be only March, but it’s never too early to anticipate great deals, and one of the biggest savings events of the year is coming up in just a few months. Amazon Prime Day 2020 is on the horizon, and it’s sure to bring steep discounts on some of the best games for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Prime Day is also an excellent opportunity to snag consoles and PC hardware at a discount, and you’ll also find sweet deals on gaming accessories, merch, Blu-rays, collectibles, and practically anything on your wishlist. Prime Day is known for having deals on par with even Black Friday, so for gamers on a budget, it’s an event you don’t want to miss.
The key to snagging the deals you want on Amazon Prime Day is to go in prepared. To help you out, we’ve assembled a guide with everything you need to know about Amazon Prime Day 2020, including when it might start, the best deals to expect, and more.
Prime Day is a massive sale Amazon puts on each summer for Prime members. It all began in 2015, when Amazon had a sale to celebrate its 20th birthday. In the years since, Prime Day has grown into a shopping extravaganza in its own right, with deep discounts on all kinds of items across the whole store.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2020?
Amazon hasn’t revealed the exact dates for Prime Day 2020. That said, we can predict when it might start and how long it will be. Last year, Prime Day kicked off on July 15 and lasted a full 48 hours, ending July 17. In 2018, Prime Day kicked off on July 16 and lasted for 36 hours. While the event has gradually become longer over time, it’s started on a Monday in mid-July for the past three years, so it’s safe to assume that Amazon will continue that pattern this year. If so, it’s likely Prime Day 2020 will start on July 13 or even July 20 and last for at least 48 hours.
How much is Amazon Prime?
The catch is that you have to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of Prime Day deals. The annual price of a Prime membership is $119 / £79, or you can get a one-month membership for just $13 / £8. Having to buy a subscription is a bummer, but there are ways around dropping cash just to take part in Prime Day. If you’ve never been a Prime member before, you can get a free 30-day trial just by signing up. Students get an even better deal: the Prime Student membership begins with a free six-month trial.
Even if you’re a lapsed Prime member and you can’t get the free trial, signing up for a one-month membership may be worthwhile, depending on what Prime Day deals you want to take advantage of.
What are the best Prime Day deals to expect?
Practically anything under the sun will be on sale for Prime Day 2020, but some deals are much better than others. The largest discounts tend to be on Amazon’s own hardware (unsurprisingly), such as Echos, Kindles, Fire Sticks, and tablets. You’ll also find big savings on video games, consoles, VR headsets, gaming accessories, 4K TVs, other electronics, apparel, outdoor gear, baby products, and nearly anything else you can buy at the online retailer. With next-generation consoles–the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5–launching this holiday season, we expect the Xbox One and PS4 will see discounts during Prime Day 2020.
Prime Day PS4 deals
Recently, we’ve seen the PS4 Pro go as low as $300, with the PS4 Slim occasionally getting discounted to $200. During Black Friday, the popular PS4 Slim Only on PlayStation bundle (which featured three great console exclusives) was sold for $200; it’s likely that deal or a similar bundle will return for Prime Day 2020. With some huge PS4 exclusives still planned to release in 2020, such as Final Fantasy VII Remake and The Last of Us Part 2, the PS4’s two console versions may not dip much lower than $200 and $300, respectively, but we bet there’ll be some great bundles on offer.
Prime Day Xbox One deals
The Xbox One tends to see discounts more frequently. While Xbox One X bundles went for $299 during Black Friday, we recently saw them for as cheap as $259, so we’re predicting a bunch of them will be available for at least $250 during Prime Day. Xbox One S bundles have been going for $200 lately, and it’s possible they’ll be discounted even further. We can also confidently predict the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition will be dirt cheap during Prime Day as it was during Black Friday–once sold for $250, it’s no longer surprising to see that system for less than $150.
Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals
As Nintendo fans are well aware, discounts on the brand’s games and hardware are much less common than PS4 or Xbox products. Nintendo’s latest consoles–the newer model Nintendo Switch and the handheld-only Switch Lite–go for $300 and $200 respectively, but now that they’ve been on the market for some time, we wouldn’t be surprised to see them get discounted for Prime Day. We also wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t (we know how annoying that sounds). If the consoles are on sale, you probably won’t save more than $50 on either. What’s more likely is that we’ll see some interesting console bundles that include a first-party game or accessory with your purchase. In terms of games, you’ll probably be able to snag some of Nintendo’s first-party titles, like Super Mario Party or Pokemon Sword and Shield, for as low as $40, which is about as cheap as they get.
Best deals before Prime Day: Current deals on consoles and games
Prime Day VR deals
Those interested in VR gaming should keep an eye out for VR headset deals during Prime Day as well. The excellent PSVR five-game mega pack from Black Friday may get discounted to $200 again for Prime Day and offers the best value of any PSVR bundle on the market.
Prime Day game deals
Finally, expect thousands of game deals during Prime Day, not only at Amazon but also at other retail stores like Best Buy and Walmart as well as digital game stores like Steam, PSN, Xbox Live, and the Nintendo Eshop. While it’s hard to say exactly how low each game might go, you’re sure to find whatever’s on your wishlist at its best price during Prime Day. All the biggest games from the past few years are sure to be discounted. Sony and Microsoft always offer the steepest discounts on their first-party games, like God of War (PS4) or Gears 5 (Xbox One).
Will coronavirus affect Amazon Prime Day 2020?
The recent outbreak of coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, has become a worldwide concern and is affecting many companies who have factories or do business in China, where the outbreak began. The New York Times reported Amazon is concerned it may not be able to meet demand during this year’s Prime Day due to many factories in China shutting down. According to the Times, Amazon is taking measures to combat stock shortages, such as ordering greater amounts of products ahead of time and contacting third-party sellers to discuss stock availability for Prime Day.
An Amazon spokesperson told the Times, “Out of an abundance of caution, we are working with suppliers to secure additional inventory to ensure we maintain our selection for customers … We are monitoring developments related to the coronavirus and taking appropriate steps as needed.”
Best tips for Amazon Prime Day
To get the most out of Prime Day, it’s best to know exactly what you’re shopping for. Otherwise, it’s easy to get sucked down the rabbit hole of Amazon’s endless lineup of deals. While Black Friday offers you a lot of time to plan for the exact deals you want to take advantage of, Prime Day deals are generally kept secret until the event kicks off, so you’ll want to be ready at your computer that day to snag anything you want. The best deals are sure to sell out quickly.
There are different types of Prime Day deals to be aware of, and understanding what these are can help your planning. Prime Day will kick off with early access or countdown deals, which will appear on Amazon in early July. Throughout the event, you’ll also see spotlight deals–these run for 24 hours and can take place during the lead-up to Prime Day as well as the event itself. Lightning deals tend to be some of the best discounts of Prime Day, but these are limited-time, limited-stock items that will sell out fast. The best way to keep up with those is through the Amazon app on your phone as well as the upcoming deals page on Amazon. Hit “watch this deal” to get notified when it starts. Finally, there will be thousands of Prime Day-exclusive deals that run the entire duration of Prime Day, which will likely be 48 hours this year. These offers are still likely to sell out if they feature popular items, like the Nintendo Switch.
Check out our guide to the best Prime Day tips to ensure you don’t miss out on the hottest deals. Amazon’s big-budget Lord of the Rings TV show continues to add to its cast. Deadline reports that Maxim Baldry has officially signed on for a “lead role” on the show.
Baldry was rumored for a role on the show back in 2019, but his deal to star was not finalized until recently. Baldry’s name was noticeably absent from the cast list that Amazon announced in January, leading some to believe he was not part of the show. However, the hang-up was that his deal was not signed until now, according to the report.
Baldry is perhaps best known for his role on the BBC/HBO drama Years and Years. He also had parts in Mr. Bean’s Holiday when he was a child, as well as 2019’s Last Christmas.
The Lord of the Rings TV show takes place during the Second Age, but there is no word on any of the characters who might appear in it or by what means the show will handle its time period.
The Lord of the Rings TV show’s showrunners are J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, who have no previous major TV credits to their name. As many have pointed out, neither did Game of Thrones showrunners David Weiss and D.B. Weiss, and that seemed to work out pretty well.
For more on Lord of the Rings, check out GameSpot’s True Fiction in which we examine how World War I inspired The Lord of the Rings–watch it in the embed above.
Here’s the rest of the cast that has been announced so far
Amazon’s Lord of the Rings cast:

Nazanin Boniadi
Tom Budge

Ismael Cruz Cordova
Ema Horvath
Markella Kavenagh
Joseph Mawle

Xbox boss Phil Spencer is a really good follow on Twitter. For someone who holds such a high position in the gaming industry, he tweets frequently and openly about some of the behind-the-scenes goings-on at Xbox and its studios. According to a recent tweet, Spencer visited Gears of War studio The Coalition, and his trip led to new speculation about what’s next for the franchise.
His PR wrangler Kenny Birge did not accompany Spencer on this trip, and the executive took full advantage of being able to say and post whatever he wanted. One of the more intriguing reveals from Spencer’s trip was a behind-the-scenes tease for some “enhancements” coming to Gears 5. He said he met with The Coalitition’s technical director Mike Rayner who showed him these unspecified “enhancements” that make Gears 5 look “better than Gears has ever looked.”
With a new console, the Xbox Series X, due for release later this year, a safe bet is Spencer was briefed on an upgrade that The Coalition may be preparing for it. This is just speculation, however; it’s possible the “enhancements” are related to something else.
Spencer also tweeted about his briefing for Gears Tactics, the new strategy game due for release in April. He said he sees the game as a “great addition” to the Gears franchise alongside the core shooter series. Xbox Game Studios lead Matt Booty was also on the trip, and he snapped a cheeky photo of Spencer taking a photo.
People have been scouring through these photos in hopes of finding some undiscovered materials or a fresh look at the Xbox Series X, but there don’t appear to be any clues to be found. Anyway, here are all the photos from Spencer’s trip to The Coalition.
