Resident Evil 3 Remake Jill Valentine Trailer Shows How Teamwork Pays Off

The Resident Evil 3 remake is just one week away, and Capcom has released a new trailer focused on protagonist Jill Valentine. The zombie-slaying action hero faces some deadly enemies, including the relentless Nemesis.

Primarily covering an early area of Resident Evil 3, the new trailer sees Jill Valentine joining forces with Carlos Oliveira as Raccoon City comes under attack. After restoring power to the subway system, Jill makes her way to the traffic control system and runs into Nemesis. His terrifying elongated teeth are intimidating, but the laser-guided rocket launcher his shoulder is even scarier.

Just like Leon and Claire discovered in Resident Evil 2, Jill soon learns of Umbrella Corporation’s true and nefarious intentions. The world would never be the same after the Raccoon City Incident spread its experimental virus and turned people into mutated zombies, and Resident Evil 3 shows how the city crumbled.

Alongside her starring role in Resident Evil 3, Jill Valentine will also be a future playable character in the multiplayer game Resident Evil Resistance. It’s included in every copy of Resident Evil 3, which is scheduled to launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3. A beta began today, but has been delayed on PS4 and PC.

European players could encounter issues receiving physical and collector’s edition Resident Evil 3 copies on time due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). The pandemic could affect import conditions in certain regions, though the digital version should remain available. Download speeds on PlayStation 4 in Europe and the United States will also be slower than normal in order to ensure internet reliability, so it could take a little longer to install the game.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Demo Mod Has Too Many Nemeses

Resident Evil 3 Remake takes the foundation from the recent RE2 treatment and applies it to the classic third game, including the ever-present threat of Nemesis. But why stop at one Nemesis? Why not multiple Nemeses? What if the game were absolutely crawling with them?

Modder FluffyQuack has answered that question with a mod for the RE3 Remake demo (via PC Gamer), which turns every enemy into a Nemesis. As it turns out, one Nemesis is better for delivering scares, because a litter of them ends up seeming kind of silly and bumbling. Too many Nemesis spoil the ambiance somewhat, as the many hapless Nemeses lumber around and bump into one another.

The Resident Evil 2 Remake was similarly known for a wacky mod community, with mods that turned the threatening Mr. X into Thomas the Tank Engine or the horrible goose. One mod even tagged in Geralt, known for his monster-slaying abilities, to deal with Racoon City’s zombie problem.

For a while it seemed Nemesis was even more threatening than usual, when it appeared he would be able to break into safe rooms. PS5’s Release Shouldn’t Be Affected By Coronavirus, Sony Says

Despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting its projected profits, Sony still expects the PS5 to launch this holiday season.

Speaking with Bloomberg, a Sony spokesperson said there won’t be, as Bloomberg puts it, a “notable impact on the launch” of PlayStation 5 later this year. Other facets of the company’s business are expecting slashed profits. Compared to its financial forecast back in February, Sony’s profits are likely to be about $370 million lower.

It’s possible upcoming first-party PS4 games could be affected by the pandemic, as Sony’s Chinese manufacturing centers were shut down for weeks as the outbreak was being managed. At this point, there are no announced delays, with The Last of Us Part 2 arriving in May and Ghost of Tsushima releasing in June.

“Although no issues have emerged so far, Sony is carefully monitoring the risk of delays in production schedules for game software titles at both its first-party studios and partner studios, primarily in Europe and the U.S.,” Sony said in a statement.

However, many of Sony’s employees are now working from home and a portion of its offices are closed.

“In accordance with mandates from national and local governments, Sony has closed a portion of its offices, mainly in Europe and the U.S., where employees are now working from home,” Sony said in a statement. “Additionally, at Sony’s offices in Japan and other areas, employees must work from home, excluding a small number of essential employees.”

Capcom could experience difficulties with physical games and collector’s editions for Resident Evil 3 in Europe, warning the region could see delays past its April 3 launch date. Square Enix warned of something similar with Final Fantasy VII Remake, with Europe, Australia, and the Americas all potentially affected by the pandemic. The long-delayed game is a PS4 exclusive.

Digital versions shouldn’t be affected, but PlayStation Network download speeds have been reduced in Europe and the United States in order to ensure internet reliability.

The PS5’s launch window is more important for Sony than an individual game because it will be competing directly with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X, which also has not announced any sort of release delay yet. Sony released the PS2 about a year before the original Xbox, and Microsoft flipped the script in part by launching Xbox 360 a year before PS3. Both the PS4 and Xbox One launched during the same period.

Massive PS4, Xbox One, And Switch Game Sale Kicks Off Sunday

Buy two, get one free sales on games have become a regular occurrence at Target, and the retailer is kicking off another one this Sunday, March 29. Target’s latest B2G1 free game sale will include popular AAA games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. While we won’t know for sure if Amazon will match Target’s sale until the promotion begins, Amazon almost always joins in on the buy two, get one free fun.

However, Target’s ad contradicts itself. The promotion shows new games like Doom Eternal, Persona 5 Royal, and Resident Evil 3 Remake–the latter two of the three don’t even release until after the sale starts. But the fine print claims that the sale “excludes pre-order and new-release video games.” It’s quite the conundrum since those games are the most prominently featured titles on the ad page. Though Target has included certain new release and upcoming games in these promotions in the past (such as Nioh 2), for now we have to assume that the layout of the ad is misleading.

So far, Target has only revealed a small sample of the hundreds of games that will be featured in the promotion. We’ve listed the eligible games we know about below and will update this article with the best deals once the promotion is live. Target’s B2G1 free sale runs from March 29 through April 4.

Roman Reigns Drops Out Of His Wrestlemania 36 Match With Goldberg – Report

WWE’s “Big Dog,” Roman Reigns has been a staple of Wrestlemania for the past seven years. However, this year’s event may be the first time in seven years Reigns will be missing the PPV event. However, it is for a very good reason.

Reigns, real name Joe Anoaʻi, had a very public battle with leukemia which has left him immunocompromised, and didn’t want to risk his health. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet broke the news last night, stating that Reigns “didn’t feel comfortable doing anymore of the Performance Center shows during the coronavirus pandemic.”

GameSpot reached out to WWE about this situation and what could happen to the Wrestlemania 36 match card, and WWE declined to comment at this time. WWE may reveal more about the future of Reigns at Wrestlemania on the March 27 episode of Smackdown, airing on Fox at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT.

Reigns was scheduled to face the once-again returning Goldberg for the Universal Championship, a title both men have held in the past. It was billed as “Spear vs Spear” and the contract for the match was signed just last week on SmackDown.

But the real hype began back in February after Goldberg won the title from The Fiend at Super Showdown, with Reigns declaring himself “next.” It is reported that WWE honored Reigns’ request for the leave and Goldberg’s new opponent should be announced soon, especially given the fact that Wrestlemania is only a week away.

WWE is reportedly pretaping their shows up to the April 6th episode of Monday Night Raw.

Wrestlemania 36 will be taped at the WWE Performance Center this week, and for the first time will be split into two nights, Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5.

Assassin’s Creed Voice Actor Launches New Game Studio

Silver Rain Games is a new development studio based in the UK, and is founded by actor and producer Abubakar Salim. Fans of Assassin’s Creed: Origins may know Salim for giving a voice to protagonist Bayek, but he has also lent his vocal talents to World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and The Bradwell Conspiracy.

Salim will be directing a new game IP developed by Silver Rain Games, where former BAFTA programme manager Melissa Phillips is serving as head of studio. Silver Rain is taking on “a growing team of developers” for the project.

“The games industry is so inspiring,” Salim said. “I grew up in games, so it only feels natural to make the leap into creating them. I want to be able to give back to an industry and audience that has supported me and hopefully bring a fresh perspective to the table.”

Phillips added: “It’s hugely exciting to begin working on a new IP. We are currently in the prototype stage. We are keen to hear from all levels of talent who might potentially fit into our team and will be looking for funding opportunities over the next few months.”

The studio describes itself as a company that “aims to bring a fresh and innovative perspective to the games industry. Founded with the intention of delivering bold new IP’s across multiple platforms, Silver Rain Games are particularly keen to welcome new audiences, creating narratives to empower players.”

Outside of the games industry, Salim is set to star in Ridley Scott’s Raised by Wolves, a TV series coming to HBO Max later this year.

Gears Tactics Is Coming To Xbox One

Gears Tactics, the new PC strategy game from The Coalition and Splash Damage, will eventually release on Xbox One. The Coalition’s Tyler Bielman confirmed to GameSpot that the title will come to Xbox at some point in the future following the PC edition’s release.

The developer pointed out that a certain person who is no longer with the company (Rod Fergusson) actually let the existence of the Xbox One version slip in 2019. The company had no further comment on when the Xbox One version will release or any details about it, but console fans can rest assured it is coming.

“The console version is incoming. Absolutely we have confirmed that there will be a console release,” Bielman said.

With 2020 being the year of Xbox Series X, it seems likely that Gears Tactics could find a home on the next-generation console, but nothing is confirmed yet. Given Gears Tactics is a first-party game, it will also presumably release through Xbox Game Pass.
