WWE’s Becky Lynch Is Pregnant, Names Asuka New Raw Women’s Champion

The Man is with child. Becky Lynch appeared on Monday Night Raw with some major news. After not having a match on the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, the WWE superstar and reigning Raw Women’s Champion revealed that she was pregnant. As such, she also vacated her title, naming Asuka the new champion.

“I’m at a place in my life where things are about to change and I need to do something about it,” Lynch said to open the show, adding that her leaving was a mixture of joy and sadness. She later told Asuka, “You go and be a warrior because I’m going to go be a mother.”

As for how Asuka got the title, Lynch noted that she spoke to WWE management about raising the stakes of the Women’s Money in the Bank match. The winner didn’t receive a shot at her championship. Instead, the winner–Asuka–won the championship itself.

Lynch won the title last year at Wrestlemania 35, after appearing in the first all-women’s main event on WWE biggest show of the year. She managed to best both Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in a triple threat match.

As most fans know at this point, Lynch is engaged to WWE superstar Seth Rollins. The pair revealed they were seeing each other in May 2019, before becoming engaged in August. While Lynch sat out Money in the Bank, Rollins was featured in a bout against reigning WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gets Vikings Composer

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is venturing into another new culture and era for the series–the nomadic Vikings as they founded new settlements during the Dark Ages. And to help capture the time period, Ubisoft has brought on a composer best known for another pop-culture depiction.

The German Ubisoft store listing states that Einar Selvik has been brought on to help compose the score. Selvik is best known for the Vikings TV series, which ran for six seasons. He worked various roles in the show’s music department from 2014-2019, and composed the score for 11 episodes.

Selvik joins Sarah Schachner (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Assassin’s Creed Origins) and Jesper Kyd (Borderlands 3).

This German listing is the same one that seemed to reveal Beowulf DLC planned for Valhalla. That content is said to be coming as part of the season pass, and will reveal the “cruel truth behind the legend” of the epic poem.

Ubisoft also just announced Ubisoft Forward, an E3-style digital showcase that will outline its coming announcements. That’s likely to include a lengthy look at Valhalla, after its creative director apologized for the relatively little we saw from Microsoft’s recent Xbox Series X event. The short tastes of gameplay left a bad taste in the mouths of some fans, even prompting the Xbox marketing head to issue a mea culpa

Snag A Pair Of Stunning Limited-Edition Ghibli Steelbooks For $20 Each

In the age of streaming, and especially these days, owning physical movies isn’t as sought-after as it used to be. But there’s still something to be said about owning a physical set of your favorite movie series or TV show, and if you’re a Studio Ghibli fan, you can soon own brand-new limited-edition versions of some of Ghibli’s best films. The Japanese animation studio partnered with GKIDS to release stunning steelbook editions of Howl’s Moving Castle and Ponyo on May 12 (that’s tomorrow!), with special editions for Kiki’s Delivery Service and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind releasing later this summer on August 25. This is the first time steelbook editions for any Ghibli films have been released in North America.

These new limited-edition steelbooks house Blu-ray and DVD combos, although unfortunately there’s no digital copy included. They feature a minimalist cover design featuring the star(s) of each film and a solid background. Naturally, Ponyo’s case is ocean blue, while the Howl’s Moving Castle case is a deep red to match Howl’s coat. Meanwhile, the Nausicaa case is a light green, fitting for its themes of sustainability, and the Kiki case is a lovely purple to accent her dress. It’s unclear whether more than just these four films will get limited-edition steelbooks–at least give us Spirited Away so I can replace my 2003 copy, GKIDS!– but it’s safe to say these four steelbooks will make excellent collector’s items for any Ghibli fan.

To sweeten the deal, the two films releasing tomorrow have gotten nice discounts on Amazon. Normally priced at $27, you can pre-order both Ponyo and Howl’s Moving Castle for just $20 each. That’s a fantastic deal considering regular Ghibli Blu-rays have consistently sold for around $30 in the past. (That said, deals do seem to be more frequent now that the Ghibli movies will soon be available to stream.)

These movies fall under Amazon’s pre-order price guarantee, so even though Nausicaa and Kiki’s Delivery Service are currently full price, you can pre-order them now and know that you’ll automatically get any discount that becomes available between now and release. Amazon doesn’t charge you for pre-orders until the item ships.

You can pre-order the four limited-edition steelbooks above, including the two that release tomorrow. As always, these Blu-rays will also include special features like Behind the Microphone, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the voiceover process; interviews with the creators; music videos; stories about the making of the film; and more. You can read more about the special release of Ponyo and Howl’s Moving Castle at GKIDS. It’s unclear how long these films will be available for $20 each, so we recommend snagging those two while they’re on sale.

Call Of Duty Mobile Adds New 1v1 Duel Map Later This Week

Developer Infinity Ward has announced that alongside a host of additions coming to both Modern Warfare and Warzone, the studio will add a new map to Call of Duty Mobile later this week.

That new map is Saloon, a 1v1 western-themed locale meant for duels. Saloon is part of Call of Duty Mobile’s latest Once Upon A Time in Rust update. The new season, which kicked off earlier this month, included an additional game mode, a brand-new season pass, and a bunch of other changes.

The Gold Rush limited-time event, which began on May 7, is still live in-game. In both Battle Royale and Kill Confirmed, you can trade in the gold bars you collect for a variety of new weapons that can be used in multiplayer. Infinity Ward has not specified when the LTE will end.

With the launch of Once Upon A Time in Rust, Infinity Ward outlined the content coming to Call of Duty Mobile this season. The studio promised that these roadmaps will become more regular, showing up just before a new season goes live.

Infinity Ward also detailed some new additions coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone. This includes a new Operator and legendary weapon bundles, additional weapon blueprints, playlist updates and new game modes, and more.

Pokemon Go Virizion: Best Counters, Weaknesses, And Battle Tips

Another Legendary Pokemon is returning soon to Pokemon Go. To celebrate the launch of Remote Raid Passes, Niantic is bringing Virizion, the Grassland Pokemon, back to five-star Raids from May 12-19. Not only does this give you another opportunity to add the Legendary to your collection, but this time around, you’ll also have a chance to catch its Shiny form. If you need help defeating it, we’ve rounded up some tips to help you battle and catch Virizion below.

Virizion Raid Hours

Virizion will appear in five-star Raids until 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET on May 19. These Raids can happen pretty much any time, but you’ll receive an in-game notification before one is about to begin nearby, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble tracking the Legendary Pokemon down.

If you’re eager to add Virizion to your collection, your best chance to find one will come on Wednesday, May 13, when Niantic hosts its next Raid Hour event. From 6-7 PM local time that day, there will be more Virizion Raids occurring than usual, effectively ensuring you find one. The increased rate of Virizion Raids also makes this day your best chance to find a Shiny Virizion.

Virizion Weaknesses And Counters

As a Grass/Fighting type, Virizion is especially vulnerable to Flying-type Pokemon, making those your best bet to defeat it. Lugia will be particularly helpful, but Dragonite, Moltres, Tornadus, Rayquaza, and other Flying Pokemon that know Flying-type attacks will also be useful when challenging the Legendary.

Virizion has a few other weaknesses you can exploit. The Legendary is also weak to Ice, Psychic, Fire, and Fairy Pokemon. Gardevoir is a great choice because it can know both Psychic and Fairy attacks, while Mamoswine is a great Ice-type attacker. Other good Pokemon to bring along include Togekiss, Granbull, Glaceon, and Chandelure.

Remote Raids

Thanks to the aforementioned Remote Raid Passes, you don’t need to physically travel to a Gym to join a Virizion Raid. If you have a Remote Raid Pass, you can use it to participate in any Virizion Raid that appears on your Nearby screen without leaving your home.

There are a few caveats to keep in mind concerning Remote Raid Passes. First, only a maximum of five remote players can join the same Raid. Second, Pokemon used by remote players have lower attack power than those used by players physically at the Gym. You can learn more about how to get and use Remote Raid Passes in our guide.

Dune: House Atreides Prequel Comic Coming From BOOM! Studios

With a new Dune movie hitting theaters in late 2020, the seminal science-fiction franchise will also be making its return to the comic book arena this year. BOOM! Studios has announced a new adaptation of the Dune prequel novel House Atreides.

Dune: House Atreides is a 12-issue limited series adapting the 1999 novel by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Herbert and Anderson are also scripting this adaptation, though no artist has been revealed yet.

[widget path=”global/article/imagegallery” parameters=”albumSlug=dune-movie-images&captions=true”]

The first entry in the “Prelude to Dune” trilogy of books, House Atreides is set decades before the events of the original Dune novel. The story focuses on a young Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac’s character in the movie) and his future bodyguard Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa’s “Han Solo-esque” character) as they discover their shared destiny in a galaxy torn apart by revolution and political strife. Dune: House Atreides was followed by 2000’s Dune: House Harkonnen and 2001’s Dune: House Corrino.

Dune: House Atreides is published in an arrangement with Herbert Properties LLC and Abrams ComicArts. Abrams is also publishing a trilogy of graphic novel adaptations of the original Dune novel, with scripts by Herbert and Anderson, art by Raúl Allén and Patricia Martín and covers by Bill Sienkiewicz. Both Dune: Volume 1 and Dune: House Atreides #1 are slated to hit stores in Fall 2020, ahead of the film’s December 18 release.

“Dune: House Atreides holds a special place in my heart,” said Herbert in Boom’s press release. “It was the first novel Kevin and I wrote in my father’s fantastic Dune universe, and it is our first collaborative novel to be adapted for comics. In 1999, our novel was a surprise New York Times bestseller, and we have equally high expectations for this special BOOM! Studios adaptation.”

“It’s been more than twenty years since Brian and I published House Atreides, the first of our new novels set in Frank Herbert’s Dune universe,” said Anderson. “We loved exploring all the possibilities Frank created for us, and those books introduced a whole new audience to Dune. Now, in adapting House Atreides into a vibrant graphic format, it’s like rediscovering the story and the world all over again. So much of the novel is visually driven, the union of comics and House Atreides is a natural.”

This isn’t the only adaptation of Herbert and Anderson’s prequel novels in the works. A TV series called Sisterhood of Dune is being developed for the HBO Max streaming platform. A direct spinoff of director Denis Villeneuve’s movies, Sisterhood of Dune will delve deeper into the Bene Gesserit religious order and their efforts to produce the cosmic messiah known as the Kwisatz Haderach.

Star Wars Episode 1 Racer Delayed Again

Star Wars: Episode 1 is memorable for a few key, standout reasons: Darth Maul, the podrace scene–end of list. But the podrace was immortalized in the classic game Episode 1 Racer that’s now being ported to PS4 and Nintendo Switch. That port has now been delayed indefinitely on both platforms.

In a tweet, publisher Aspyr announced that the port is being further delayed because of complications from the work-at-home requirements that are happening all across the industry due to coronavirus. This followed a previous delay for the PS4 version from May 12 to May 26. The new announcement didn’t attach a new release date for either platform.

In Episode 1, podracing is a deadly high-stakes sport enjoyed on the dusty planet of Tatooine and basically involves tethering two jet engines to a soapbox car. Despite sapping all dramatic tension by making the stakes so high that there’s no way Anakin could possibly lose the race, it was visually thrilling and a neat bit of world-building in the Star Wars universe.

“Its sense of speed is great, especially when you are whipping past corridors and canyons at 600mph,” Elliot Chin wrote in GameSpot’s Star Wars Episode 1: Racer review. “The graphics for the most part look good; the tracks are plentiful, varied, and interesting; and the racing experience is plain fun.”

The Back To The Future Reunion Is Wildly Entertaining And For A Great Cause

Great Scott! Can you believe that Back to the Future is 35 years old this year? The sci-fi comedy classic debuted in 1985, and it’s one of the best films from that decade. Now, actor Josh Gad has put together another episode of Reunited Apart–a video conference call featuring actors, writers, and directors–and this time, it features the cast of Back to the Future.

On April 27, Gad debuted the first episode of the YouTube series featuring the cast of Goonies. On May 11, Michael J Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, director Robert Zemeckis, and more came together to talk to Gad about their experiences on the film and do some “table” reads of the scripts from the three films. Check it out below.

For any fan of the movie series, it’s just a lot of fun to see what these actors are up to and what they look like now. It will put a smile on any fan’s face. Gad’s new series is a fundraiser for Project Hope, which delivers masks and protective equipment to health workers on the front line of the pandemic.

Sadly, a few faces were missing, including Crispin Glover, who had a falling out after not appearing in the sequel, compounded with Zemeckis using a lookalike double. Glover sued over the film because of the bait and switch with audiences, which led to new rules within the Screen Actors Guild. The other main actor missing was Thomas F. Wilson who played Biff Tannen, Griff Tannen, and Buford ‘Mad Dog’ Tannen throughout the three films.

In other Back to the Future news, writer Bob Gale revealed some info about the timetable for the first movie, stating that Marty was only in 1955 for seven days, and that’s why his parents don’t really remember him in present day–1985.
