Fall Guys Season 3 Is Eliminating Everyone, Even If They Win

Fall Guys‘ newest season hit players everywhere today–although many wish it hadn’t. The season is full of bugs–including several that make players lose when they’d already won.

The new season brings games like Roll Off, a faster final round version of Roll Out, and Thin Ice as two new finales. It also introduces a new crown rank reward system that doles out prizes to players as they earn more crowns. A new playlist that focuses on new levels was also included in the update.

The story of the day, however, has been all of the new issues with Season 3. Many players have found themselves seconds away from victory–only for it to be snatched away at the last second.

Season 3’s newest levels, like Tundra Run and Ski Fall, are a ton of fun. They contain a number of new mechanics, obstacles, and designs that haven’t been featured in the battle royale before. The problems, however, currently outweigh the positives of the new season. Crown Ranks, which should be retroactive, aren’t showing up for a lot of players on top of the other gameplay bugs.

Mediatonic had to disable matchmaking (it’s back up now), disable Hex-A-Gone, and make a number of other last-minute changes to keep the game from frustrating more players. The UK-based studio is currently working on fixes and is tracking issues on its subreddit.

SNK Is Making a Brand-New Console For 2021

Retro consoles are all the rage these days, following in the wake of Nintendo’s highly-successful NES and SNES minis. However, it seems that one retro company is interested in building something completely new. Developer and publisher SNK announced on Twitter that it’ll be building a “brand-new console” for 2021.

SNK put out a NeoGeo Mini back in 2018 that included several of the company’s most popular games, including entries in the King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, and Metal Slug series. However, it’s not clear what exactly SNK is teasing here, though the WiFi symbol over the W in the teaser image seems to indicate it will involve multiplayer connectivity of some sort. Last year, SNK indicated that a “next-gen” NeoGeo would be coming after the NeoGeo Mini, and it looks like this might be that console.

Over the past few years, SNK has worked with teams like Code Mystics to create versions of its old games with rollback multiplayer, such as the cult fighting game Garou: Mark of the Wolves. The company also recently teased King Of Fighters 15, and it will be unveiled in early January.

PS5 And Xbox Series X/S Will Be In Stock At Walmart Today

It’s your lucky day: Even if you missed out on the next-gen console restocks earlier today, you’ll have another opportunity to buy them in just under an hour. Walmart has announced it will have the PS5, PS5 Digital edition, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S available for sale at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET today, December 15.

There’s no telling how many units will be available, but it’ll be a safe bet that–once again–all of these consoles will sell out very quickly. This is an online restock; there’s no word on physical Walmart stores having any consoles in stock, so you should try the links above (or the Walmart mobile app) and hope for the best.

These are the standalone versions of the consoles that will go up for sale–no bundles here. That’s a more ideal setup than when bundles are forced upon people, but it also increases the pool of potential buyers, as bundles might cause some people to bow out.

Best Buy restocked these consoles earlier today and suffered from some site issues, as is a common trend for a retailer restocking PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. That may happen here–the common “oh deer” error message during Walmart restocks has become a joke among next-gen console hunters–but nonetheless, with no specific word on any other restocks coming up, you’ll definitely want to give this a shot if you’re eager to get your hands on one of the new systems. If you don’t manage to snag one, keep your eyes on our PS5 restock guide and Xbox Series X|S restock guide for the up-to-date word on when these consoles will be available again.

Devil May Cry 5 Vergil DLC Out Now On PS4, Xbox One, And PC

Devil May Cry 5 recently got a special edition release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, adding several graphical upgrades and a challenging new difficulty mode. The main attraction in Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition was the inclusion of Dante’s twin brother Vergil, a playable character with his own unique offense and stylish special abilities.

If you’re on older generation consoles or PC, you can now add Vergil to the regular edition of Devil May Cry 5. Capcom has released the anti-hero as standalone DLC that will cost you $5 on PC via Steam, Xbox One, and PS4.

You can view the brief trailer of Vergil in action, right here.

Vergil is a completely different character to play as when compared to Dante, Nero, or V. He comes equipped with his trademark Yamato katana for precise combos, the Beowulf gauntlets and boots that can be charged up to deliver crushing blows, and the Mirage Edge sword that is perfect for crowd control. For long-range combat, Vergil can summon his Mirage Blades to strike opponents from a distance or create a shield around him that damages any enemies who get too close for comfort.

Vergil’s more demonic abilities also reflect his colder personality. His Devil Trigger summons a doppelganger that mimics all his attacks and can be used to double down on combos, his Sin Devil Trigger amplifies his power while also healing him, and World of V allows Vergil to use his human form and Familiars to devastate any demons within range.

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is still well worth looking at if you’re in the market for an improved version of an already thrilling action game, thanks to ray tracing features, an optional 120 FPS mode, a new Turbo mode, and Legendary Dark Knight Mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

In our Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition review, critic Jean-Luc Seipke called the game the definitive version of an already excellent action experience.

“Vergil feels fantastic to play, and it’s great getting to go through the original campaign with Legendary Dark Knight difficulty. The real winner, though, is the improvements enabled by next-gen consoles. The result is an experience that brings enough new to the table for returning fans while being the definitive Devil May Cry 5 experience for those looking to pick it up for the first time.”

Marvel Announces Another Disney+ Show, Marvel Studio: Legends

The recent Disney Investor Day confirmed there’s an impressive number of Marvel shows set to hit Disney+ over the next couple of years. But it seems that not every upcoming series was announced during the presentation. Marvel has revealed that a show titled Marvel Studio: Legends will premiere on Disney+ next month.

Marvel Studio: Legends isn’t a new narrative series, but a “greatest hits” package focusing on individual heroes from the MCU. Marvel states that it will “revisit some of the most iconic moments from the MCU, one character at a time.” The first two episodes premiere on January 8.

With WandaVision set to debut on January 15, these opening episodes of Legends will focus on Wanda Maximoff and Vision. Wanda–aka the Scarlet Witch–is played by Elizabeth Olsen, while Vision is played by Paul Bettany. The characters both made their MCU debuts in 2014’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Marvel hasn’t revealed when future episodes of Legends will be released. It’s possible the company might use the show as a refresher before each new MCU series hits Disney+ over the next couple of years.

In any case, Marvel fans have no shortage of shows to look forward to. WandaVision will be followed by Falcon and The Winter Soldier in March, and Loki in May. Beyond that, upcoming MCU series include Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and the crossover event Secret Invasion. Check out the full list of all upcoming Marvel movies and shows here.

Hulu’s Helstrom Is Cancelled, An Era Of Marvel TV Ends

Marvel’s Hulu series Helstrom has been cancelled after one season. The supernatural-themed show premiered in October and ran for 10 episodes but will not be renewed for further seasons.

As reported by Variety, the cancellation of Helstrom marks the end for live-action Marvel shows appearing on networks and platforms other than Disney+. As with shows such as Agents of SHIELD, Cloak & Dagger, The Runaways, and the various Marvel Netflix shows, Helstrom was produced by Jeph Loeb as part of Marvel Television. These series have been gradually cancelled over the past couple of years, while Marvel Television itself closed down earlier this year.

The cancellation of Helstrom isn’t very surprising, and the other only reason it was released at all was because it was already in production when Marvel Television was phased out. The show starred Tom Austen and Sydney Lemon as supernatural powered siblings who are the children of a serial killer. It was first announced in May 2019, alongside a new version of Ghost Rider for Hulu. However, Ghost Rider was cancelled in September 2019 before it started shooting.

While we’re unlikely to see other live-action Marvel shows on other networks any time soon, there are plenty of series heading to Disney+ over the next few years. The first Disney+ MCU show is WandaVision, and that arrives next month. That will be followed by Falcon and The Winter Soldier in March, and Loki in May.

Beyond that, upcoming Marvel shows include Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and the crossover event Secret Invasion. Many of these were officially confirmed at Disney’s recent Investor Day–check out the full list of all upcoming Marvel movies and shows here.

EA Play On Xbox Game Pass PC Delayed At Last Minute

If you were hoping to access EA Play on PC with Xbox Game Pass to play through notable games like Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, we’ve got some bad news for you. Though the cross-service was previously announced to make its debut today, Microsoft and EA have delayed it until 2021.

EA Play rolled out for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers back on November 10 on Xbox consoles like the Series X. The service was supposed to become available on PC for PC or Ultimate Game Pass subscribers today, but unfortunately that’s no longer the case. EA Play previously came to Steam back in August.

EA Play is EA’s gaming subscription service. Like Xbox Game Pass, it allows you to access a library of games that changes periodically. However, there are two different tiers of service. The more-expensive EA Play Pro allows users to access the publisher’s newest games with no limits, and often ahead of the game’s actual release date. In contrast, EA Play gives users access to the publisher’s backlog of games, with only time-limited access to the newest games.

Like EA Play, Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service for both Xbox and PC players that offers an ever-shifting library of games for a monthly fee. Microsoft recently announced that the “engagement” with Xbox Game Pass–a nebulous measure–has more than doubled in November 2020 compared to November 2019. It also listed some of the most popular titles in Game Pass, including Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Rainbow Six Siege, Tetris Effect: Connected, and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. Unfortunately for PC subscribers, Fallen Order isn’t available until 2021.

MJF And Other AEW Wrestlers Reenact A Christmas Story

All Elite Wrestling’s Maxwell J. Friedman is better than you, and you know it. He’s a two-time Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale winner–and the only winner to boot–one of the most interesting personalities in wrestling, and now, an accomplished actor.

To promote TNT’s annual event where it play the movie A Christmas Story for 24-hours straight, AEW wrestlers recreated a famous moment where Ralphie asks Santa for a Red Rider B.B. Gun. See for yourself below.

Aside from MJF playing Ralphie, the clip also has Chris Jericho as Santa and SCU’s Frankie Kazarian as an elf. Currently, AEW’s weekly wrestling show, Dynamite, airs on TNT on Wednesdays at 8/7 C.

As for TNT’s annual 24-hour marathon of A Christmas Story, that will run December 24-25 on the network. AEW reenactments will air during the marathon, raising awareness for KultureCity, AEW’s nonprofit partner which creates accessibility in public places to those with sensory disabilities.

Additionally, AEW Dynamite will have a special holiday bash episode after the NBA game on TNT on December 23. Further details about this special have not been revealed.
