Medal Of Honor: Above And Beyond Is Out Now, Check Out The Launch Trailer

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, which is due to release on December 11, has received a final trailer ahead of release. The trailer below shows off the game’s narrative focus in its campaign, and gives some insight into what multiplayer will look like, too. You’ll be able to fire bazookas, cut down rope bridges, and experience everything in virtual reality. The game comes from Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment.

The trailer also shows how the game will integrate real-life interviews with veterans to give players a sense of the real conflicts and people that inspired the game.

This trailer was teased ahead of the ceremony, and welcomes back the Medal of Honor series after a long absence. The most recent game before this one was 2012’s Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

If you want to play the new Medal of Honor, make sure you clear some space–the storage requirements are intimidatingly huge.

New Mass Effect Debuts At Game Awards

The Game Awards 2020 ended with one more announcement just before the final award, and it was a big one. The show finished with a teaser trailer for the next Mass Effect.

The teaser was vague, consisting mostly of overviews of planets and galaxies against radio chatter that’s tough to make out, but definitely includes some key Mass Effect tidbits, including the sound of a Reaper attack ship. It sounds as if it’s going through the history of human space travel, including real-life history. We had only one detailed view of a person, a being on a seemingly isolated area of a planet. It ended with the promise that “Mass Effect Will Continue,” though it did not give a title or release details.

Fans have speculated that the person picking up the N7 armor fragment in the trailer is none other than Liara T’Soni, one of the original Mass Effect party members and a popular character in her own right. She’s accompanied by a few characters in the background, who are hard to make out but appear to be a Salarian, a Krogan, and a Drell.

A close listen to the audio might hide more hints. The chatter seems to go through Mass Effect historical events, like the First Contact War and humanity joining the Citadel. There are also snatches that could be from Mass Effect games themselves–it’s possible to pick up what sounds like Shepard, voiced by Mark Meer, calling out over the radio during the Battle of the Citadel at the end of Mass Effect. After that, a voice says, “Is anyone receiving this? I’ve lost contact.” Though distorted, it sounds a lot like Liara. There’s more dialogue, which suggests more hints, but it’s tough to make out beyond that, unfortunately.

In a set of follow-up tweets, BioWare project director Michael Gamble said he’s excited to start showing fans their vision for the next Mass Effect. He also suggested the trailer has plenty of secrets to unpack for the devoted fan community that will likely spend the next days scouring it.

On that note, fans are already speculating that the game treats Mass Effect 3’s “destruction” ending as canon. We won’t share further details for fear of spoilers.

This is one of two Mass Effect projects currently in development. The other, a remastered version of the original trilogy, is coming next spring. That was announced on November 7, aka N7 Day.

Skyrim, Among Us, Yakuza, And More Coming To Xbox Game Pass

The ever-evolving library of games available to Xbox Game Pass continues to get new games, and the next batch was announced during The Game Awards 2020.

The list is headlined by Bethesda’s enduringly popular RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which is heading to the catalog on December 15. Meanwhile, Among Us will come to Game Pass “soon” on PC, where it’s normally a paid title (unlike the free-to-play mobile version). A new Among Us map was revealed at The Game Awards, too.

Also coming to Game Pass in the near future is the entire mainline Kiryu Yakuza saga. The Yakuza Remastered Collection (containing Yakuza 3, 4, and 5) will be available on Game Pass beginning January 28, 2021. After that, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will release on Game Pass on March 25, 2021. All of the Yakuza games will also make their debut on PC alongside Xbox.

Other new games coming to Game Pass include Neoverse, Killer Queen Black, The Medium, and Cyber Shadow. All of these will be available on Xbox, while everything but Neoverse and Skyrim will be available on PC.

Just this week, Xbox Game Pass added several new games, including Call of the Sea. Other December additions have consisted of Control, Haven, and, on PC, Doom Eternal. Meanwhile, Microsoft has confirmed plans for xCloud streaming, available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, to be available on iOS devices and Windows 10 PCs next spring.

Ruined King: A League Of Legends Story Has Been Delayed, But A New Trailer Has Debuted

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, which was expected in early 2021, has been delayed. The game will still debut in 2021, but later in the year than expected, publisher Riot Forge has announced. On the plus side, we got a new look at Ruined King with a trailer at The Game Awards 2020.

The game, a single-player roleplaying title, will feature many League of Legends characters and lore. In an announcement on Twitter, the publisher said that the game needs to be delayed for the same reason many games have been delayed lately–2020 has been hard.

“This year has presented a number of challenges for all of us that have been outside our control,” the announcement reads. Because of this, the game will not meet its “early 2021” release goal, and will arrive later next year.

“We’re excited for you to experience the fantastic adventure (developer) Airship Syndicate has created with Ruined King, and we want to ensure we support their vision and give you an awesome game,” it continues.

To tide us over, a new trailer was released during The Game Awards 2020. You can watch it below.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is coming to PC and consoles, including Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One.

Just Cause Mobile Announced, And It’ll Include Multiplayer Carnage

Square Enix has announced and debuted a trailer for Just Cause Mobile during The Game Awards 2020, and it’s a free-to-play spin-off that will bring multiplayer to the series for the first time. Players will be able to team up with friends in co-op or fight against them in competitive modes.

The game, which is coming to both iOS and Android, won’t have you playing as series stalwart Rico. Instead, the campaign casts you as a member of the Firebrand program, taking down the Darkwater corporation across multiple open-world environments. Expect a lot of explosions and grappling hooks.

The competitive multiplayer mode is called “Triple Threat,” and it sets three teams of 10 players against each other. It’s a capture-the-base-style multiplayer experience where you’ll need to secure bases across a map while taking out enemies. There will be a clan system for players who want to team up long-term, and you’ll be able to pilot numerous vehicles in this mode, too.

While Just Cause games on PC have received unofficial multiplayer mods in the past, this is the first time a Just Cause game has had a multiplayer mode designed by the games’ developer.

There are also four-player co-op missions, which will pit you against waves of enemies in Just Cause Mobile’s take on a horde mode. Finally, there’s Challenge Mode, which features Destruction, Wingsuit, and Race challenges for players to complete and earn high scores in.

If you haven’t played a Just Cause game before and would like to give the latest one a shot, the PS4 version of Just Cause 4 is currently free on PlayStation Plus.

Marvel Studios Boss Offers Updates On Disney+ Streaming Shows She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Hawkeye

It’s been a massive day for MCU news, thanks to Disney’s Investor Day live stream. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige took the virtual stage to offer updates and first looks at all sorts of upcoming projects, including the upcoming Black Panther 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Thor: Love And Thunder. But the big screen wasn’t the only topic discussed.

Feige also took the time to offer updates on upcoming Disney+ streaming TV shows. First came trailers for shows like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, both of which will be arriving on the platform in 2021, but then things began looking a bit more forward with updates about the currently in production and development projects like She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Hawkeye.

First up, with She-Hulk, Feige was able to officially confirm that Tatiana Maslany had been cast as the titular character, Jennifer Walters. He also added that Tim Roth will be returning as Abomination and Mark Ruffalo will be playing Bruce Banner, who in the comics is Jen’s cousin. Feige went on to tease that fans should expect all kinds of cameos, given that Walters is a lawyer who specializes in cases that involve superheroes.

For Moon Knight, Feige was able to tease less, and did not confirm any casting. He did, however, offer a little bit of context for the MCU’s version of the character. “Moon Knight is an action adventure, Indiana Jones-type story, directed by Mohammed Diab.” He said.

“The character Moon Knight is a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder and these multiple identities that live inside him are very distinct characters in the series. The backdrop of our story is incredible Egyptian iconography. Egyptology is something the world’s always been fascinated by, and we’re going to tap into the fun and bold way.”

Finally, for Hawkeye, Feige was able to confirm that Hailee Steinfeld will indeed be playing Kate Bishop. The show will also feature Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. The show is set to debut in late 2021.

Neither She-Hulk nor Moon Knight have slated premiere dates yet. Hawkeye is scheduled for 2021.
