Fall Guys Developer Teases Season 4 Details

It’s been a little while since Fall Guys has gotten any new content, but that’s set to change. Developer Mediatonic announced in a tweet that it will reveal a trailer with the release date of the game’s upcoming Season 4 on March 15. Additionally, Mediatonic said it will activate double Fame Points around that time, though we don’t know for how long.

Fall Guys has been in the news quite a bit recently, especially following the announcement that Fortnite developer Epic Games has bought Mediatonic, further expanding its family-friendly battle royale empire. Based on a cryptic tweet, it appears that Season 4 is going to take the egg-men of Fall Guys into the future, though what exactly that means remains to be seen.

Mediatonic also recently announced that Fall Guys is coming to Nintendo Switch this summer, as well as Xbox, the next phase of its stated goal to get Fall Guys onto every major platform. The most recent content update added a new level and more costumes to the game.

Halo’s Master Chief TV Show Actor Won’t Try To Replicate Steve Downes’ Voice, Apparently

Master Chief actor Pablo Schreiber has said he won’t do an impression on the Halo TV show, suggesting he won’t try to replicate Steve Downes’ iconic voice from the video game series.

Writing on Twitter, Schreiber said, “I don’t do impressions, I play characters.” He said the video games focus on Master Chief the super-soldier, but the TV show will provide more depth and insight on the man under the helmet, John.

“I don’t do impressions, I play characters. While everyone knows the Master Chief, this show is an opportunity for all of us to get to know John,” he said. “Thank you for your kind words. We are all working incredibly hard to bring something to the screen that everyone can get behind.”

In 2019, it was teased by Showtime boss Gary Levine that Master Chief’s helmet would come off in the Halo TV show. That’s a big deal because Master Chief keeps his helmet on during most of the Halo video games.

As Schreiber is alluding to in his tweet, it appears the Halo TV show will focus more on John as opposed to Master Chief, so it makes sense that he wouldn’t be wearing his helmet the whole time.

Halo’s transmedia boss Kiki Wolfkill is heading up the production of the Halo TV show for Microsoft, and she recently spoke about how the program will take risks and present something new to fans–and fans may not like it.

“It’s amazing to have these dedicated fanbases and communities. But it’s also hard because there are so many diverse perspectives. At some point, you can’t satisfy all the voices. You need to have your own voice,” she said.

The Halo TV show stars Orange is the New Black’s Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, with Californication’s Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey. Jen Taylor, who voices Cortana in the video games, will voice the character on the TV show as well.

The Halo TV show will premiere in 2022 on Paramount+.

As for the video game series, Halo Infinite launches this fall for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The multiplayer element will be completely free-to-play, while Game Pass subscribers can get the campaign at no extra cost.

Apex Legends’ New “Conquistador” Wattson Skin Renamed Following Complaints

Ahead of the start of Apex Legends Chaos Theory, Respawn has renamed the new Wattson legendary skin that will be added during the event. Previously announced as the rather problematic Charged Conquistador, the skin will thankfully now be called Chaos Conductor.

“Thank you to folks who reached out about it and kept us honest,” Respawn director of community and communications Ryan Rigney tweeted. “This was an oversight that shouldn’t have happened.”

Respawn’s decision seems inspired by folks pointing out how uncomfortable they were with Respawn naming one of Wattson’s skins after the conquistadors, a group of white colonizers who are well-known for conquering countries through murder and slavery, and killing thousands of people through the spread of diseases. It’s not a good label to give to any of Apex Legends’ characters.

“Definitely no ill intention, it’s one of those things that slip through the cracks,” Respawn design director Jason McCord tweeted. “We don’t have a lot of approval process around skins names, since we release so many.”

Prior to the reveal of its name, many fans hoped that Wattson's new skin was stylized around a fencer, which would fit the electric fence-creating legend and her love of puns and wordplay.

Chaos Theory begins March 9, launching alongside a Switch port for Apex Legends. The event introduces a major update, which transforms all four of the game’s defenders, including a new “selfish” passive for Wattson.

Sons Of Anarchy Creator Kurt Sutter Making This Beast, A Netflix Movie With Blumhouse

With his work on the Sons of Anarchy franchise complete, following his firing by FX in 2019, Kurt Sutter has set his sights on Netflix. The Sons of Anarchy creator and Mayans M.C. co-creator is teaming with Blumhouse for a movie that’s described as a drama but certainly sounds like a horror film.

According to a tweet from Netflix, This Beast is set in an “18th century English village besieged by a mysterious and elusive beast.” A longer description reads, “Dozens of innocents are slaughtered and the mayhem is driven to puritanical heights by religious fanaticism. The impossible task of killing the beast falls to a lowly trapper who promises he can stop the carnage. But for him this hunt is not a professional mission, it’s a deeply personal one. The idea was inspired by The Beast of Gรฉvaudan, a true story about a mysterious beast that terrorized a French village in the 1760s.”

The Beast of Gรฉvaudan story dates back to a French province in the 1700s. According to historical documents, over 100 people were reported to have been killed between 1764 and 1767, which many of the victims having been partially eaten. It’s believed the beast, itself, was wolves.

That certainly doesn’t sound like a run-of-the-mill drama. In a statement, Sutter said, “Bringing my disturbing, familial story sensibility into the Blumhouse world just seemed like something that had to happen. And This Beast is the perfect project for that marriage. And Netflix is the perfect venue for that bloody ceremony.”

The film will be written, directed, and produced by Sutter, who is making his feature directorial debut. Jason Blum, founder of Blumhouse, will also serve as producer, along with Paper Pictures’ Carla Hacken. Thus far, no other information–cast, release date, etc.–has been announced for This Beast.

Meanwhile, Season 3 of Mayans MC–the first without the former co-showrunner involved–will premiere on March 16 on FX.

More Unannounced Xbox Games Are Coming This Year, Says Microsoft

A Microsoft executive has said that there are more Xbox games coming this year that we don’t yet know about. In an interview with the Iron Lords podcast that focused on the Xbox Series X, Xbox’s director of program management Jason Ronald was asked what game he was most looking forward to in 2021. In response, he said the following: “Not all games that are releasing this year have been announced.”

While this certainly isn’t a surprise, given that there’s still a lot of 2021 left to go, it’s not clear if Ronald was referring to games made by Microsoft’s own Xbox Games Studios or any other studios that the console juggernaut owns, such as Halo developer 343 Industries. Ronald might also be referring to studios that Microsoft is in the process of buying, such as Bethesda.

Currently, Microsoft’s biggest release of the year is Halo Infinite, which is scheduled to come out in Fall 2021. The studio is also publishing Psychonauts 2, which doesn’t have a concrete release date, but is scheduled to come out in 2021, though it will also come to the PlayStation 4. However, in the above tweet, the GM of Xbox Games marketing recently said that there will be no announcements of major games like Elden Ring coming soon, so it’s not clear when we might get some more details on these upcoming games.

Halo TV Show Won’t Please Everyone, And That’s The Point, Producer Says

Halo’s transmedia boss Kiki Wolfkill has shared a few small updates on the long-in-development Halo TV show. Speaking to IGN, Wolfkill said the Halo franchise as an FPS is limited in terms of its storytelling opportunity since the main storyline focuses on one character: Master Chief. But with the TV show, there is an opportunity to widen the franchise and look at more characters and plot points. The steps that Microsoft is taking with the Halo TV show may not please everyone, Wolfkill also acknowledged in the interview.

“In a first-person shooter, there is only so much of a character journey because of that wanting to maintain some of that character for people to pour into him or her,” she said. “So TV gives us a long form ability to really focus on character and story in a way that’s harder to relay in a first-person game.”

Wolfkill alluded to this previously, saying the Halo TV show will be similar to Game of Thrones in terms of the “scope and scale and complexity of relationships.”

“A lot of the background of Halo is this sort of political drama. It’s something that [is touched on] really lightly in the games and you see more of in some of the other mediums,” she said. “Some of that [Game of Thrones-style] complexity is interesting.”

Unlike Game of Thrones, however, the Halo TV show will not feature incest. “No incest planned at all for this show, I’ll say that. If you’re looking for that, you won’t find it here,” Wolfkill said.

Going back to the IGN interview, Wolfkill said it has been a “very long journey” to making the Halo TV show. The show has been in various stages of production for years, and it faced a setback recently when production was paused due to the pandemic. Filming has restarted in Budapest under certain health and safety protocols, Wolfkill said.

“We’re making progress. It feels good. We got a bunch of shooting done this winter in this post-COVID protocol world,” she said.

Wolfkill also spoke about the challenge of making the Halo TV show as it relates to expanding the universe beyond what Halo players might expect or feel comfortable with.

“It’s such an interesting needle to thread with beloved characters. How do you give a different perspective on them, how do you make their journey meaningful in a different way while respecting their past journey and the things that people love about the journeys they’ve been on already,” she said. “It’s a constant challenge; sometimes a struggle. There’s different burdens that will go onto the TV show than the game carries. So if we can navigate where we have a little bit of freedom to try and explore some different ideas or express a character differently, we try and take those.”

Wolfkill said she’s happy that Halo has such a strong fanbase and community, but this also presents a challenge.

“It’s amazing to have these dedicated fanbases and communities. But it’s also hard because there are so many diverse perspectives. At some point, you can’t satisfy all the voices. You need to have your own voice,” she said.

The overarching goal for the Halo TV show is for it to tell a story that fans enjoy and that doesn’t invalidate their feelings about the video game, Wolfkill said. “The hope is you can play the game and you can have this sense of who this character is, and you can love that, and then you can stop and put that aside and enjoy this other experience and get taken on a different journey,” she said. “And see that character in a different way without feeling like it’s impeding on the character you already have in your heart around the game.”

Zack Snyder’s Justice League: All The Teasers And Trailers Released For The Movie

Since at least 2017, so much has been theorized, predicted, and argued about among critics and fans alike about what could have been with Zack Snyder’s fabled director’s cut of Justice League that it can be easy to forget there’s a fair amount we actually already know about the upcoming DC film. As its likelihood has progressed from a remote possibility to a sure thing to now an around-the-corner four-hour epic that will arrive in theaters on HBO Max on March 18, both the streaming service and director have released a treasure trove of promo videos, teasers, and clips that will give viewers a pretty good idea of what to expect–here, we’ve scooped up everything that’s been floating around so far.

What follows is a series of clips of varying length, working backwards chronologically from some short character trailers that have been released daily and will likely continue in the coming days. The most recent video is a Wonder Woman trailer, which, it should be pointed out, has been published on International Women’s Day, March 8. These clips do more than showcase costumes–in under a minute, each teaser strongly demonstrates how the character in the spotlight brings something different to the proverbial table when forming and protecting an alliance among superheroes. Check them all out below, followed by some more traditional trailers and the movie’s title opening.

After March 18, when Justice League is out in the wild, pretty much all questions will be answered–except for the fate of the promised multiple theatrical and home releases planned for the DC movie–including a black and white IMAX version. Snyder recently revealed that his version of Justice League will end on a cliffhanger, and given the extended ramp-up to the film, it would be reasonable to expect some other surprises and wrinkles in what might be next from Snyder with all this.

Pokemon Go Tornadus Guide: Shiny Tornadus, Weaknesses, Counters, And More Tips

Tornadus is back in Pokemon Go for a limited time. The Legendary Cyclone Pokemon has returned to five-star Raids as part of the game’s Season of Legends. Not only does this give you another chance to catch the Legendary if you’ve previously missed it, but this time around you’ll also be able to encounter its Shiny form. If you need some assistance, we’ve rounded up some tips to help you beat and catch Tornadus below.

Tornadus Raid Schedule

Incarnate Forme Tornadus is appearing in five-star Raid Battles again until 8 AM local time on March 11, giving you only a couple of days to catch it. Before you can participate in a Tornadus Raid, you’ll need to have either a Raid Pass (to join the battle in-person) or a Remote Raid Pass (to join the battle remotely). Both are available to purchase, but you can also get one Remote Raid Pass as part of Niantic’s free weekly item bundles, which are available in Pokemon Go’s in-game shop every Monday in March.

Tornadus
Tornadus

Following Tornadus’s departure on March 11, Incarnate Forme Thundurus will return to Raids until March 16. After that, Niantic will bring all three Forces of Nature back to the game in their Therian Formes–the first time these variants will be available in Pokemon Go. Therian Forme Tornadus will appear starting March 30.

How To Catch Shiny Tornadus

As previously mentioned, you’ll have a chance to encounter Shiny Tornadus during its current stint as a Raid boss. However, your odds of finding one are fairly small, and there’s no way to tell if Tornadus is Shiny until you’ve beaten it in battle and made it to the catching phase. If you’re looking to catch a Shiny version, your best chance is to participate in as many Tornadus Raids as you can before the Legendary leaves the game again.

Tornadus Weaknesses And Counters

Unlike the other two Forces of Nature, Tornadus is a pure Flying-type Pokemon, which makes it vulnerable only to Ice, Rock, and Electric types. Any Pokemon of those types will be especially helpful when you’re battling the Legendary, but you can see some solid recommendations for each below:

  • Ice: Lapras, Mamoswine, Glaceon, Weavile, Kyurem, Galarian Darmanitan
  • Rock: Golem / Alolan Golem, Tyranitar, Rhyperior, Rampardos, Omastar, Regirock
  • Electric: Zapdos, Mega Ampharos, Raikou, Electivire, Luxray, Zekrom

Types To Avoid

Flying Pokemon have an advantage over Fighting, Bug, and Grass Pokemon, so you’ll want to avoid using monsters of those types when battling Tornadus. The Legendary may also have a Dark- or Grass-type attack at its disposal, which is something to keep in mind if you bring along Rock, Ground, or Psychic Pokemon.

WWE Network Sunsetting In April, After Move To Peacock

Peacock is sharing more details about how it will integrate WWE’s content later this month when the WWE Network officially becomes part of the NBCUniversal streaming service. As announced back in January, and confirmed in a recent release with the exact timeline, Peacock will begin rolling out WWE Network content on March 18. The streaming service has also launched a landing page for the WWE Network.

While the landing page is as of this writing largely an FAQ about what will be available and when, the accompanying release indicates after launch it (and its counterpart on supported devices) will function as a portal “where fans can browse and access every PPV event in the last calendar year” and a wide variety of programming that includes “current or most recent season episodes of WWE original series Steve Austinโ€™s The Broken Skull Sessions” plus “groundbreaking documentaries, including Undertaker: The Last Ride, WWE 24, and WWE Untold.”

If you’re a fan and haven’t yet made the switch, there are two crucial things to note. The first is that the WWE will sunset the existing standalone WWE Network app in the United States on April 4. The other is the March 18 rollout of WWE Network on Peacock means there’s a short runway to get in and set up before Fastlane–the first WWE pay-per-view event on the service–is available to stream on March 21.

The release also indicates that Peacock will “continually add WWE Network content to the library, making the entire WWE Network archive–including every WWE, WCW, and ECW PPV event in history–available to stream on demand before SummerSlam.”

Wonder Woman Gets Snyder Cut Justice League Video For International Women’s Day

Director Zack Snyder is continuing to release teaser videos for his upcoming cut of Justice League, so far maintaining the pace of one new quick look at a different superhero per day. On the heels of last week’s videos of Batman and Superman, Snyder has recently tweeted videos of Aquaman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman–each clocking in at just under a minute. Wonder Woman’s trailer, it should be pointed out, has been published on International Women’s Day, March 8. The four-hour epic will arrive in theaters on HBO Max on March 18.

With a total of five of these videos now out, a clear recurring theme in each of them are the hardships, opportunities, and complications each hero faces in forming and protecting an alliance among superheroes. Where Superman’s more showcased his infamous black suit and Batman’s hinted at his desire to bring more unity to the land, these three newcomers hit much harder on each hero’s desire to overcome their fears about a world being worse off without them stepping up. Check them out below.

Given the expansive roster of characters in Snyder’s cut of Justice League, it would be safe to assume we will likely be seeing more of these in the run up to March 18. Similarly, fans would likely be best advised to pace themselves when it comes to expectations of what the four-hour epic will all entail–Snyder recently revealed that his version of Justice League will end on a cliffhanger. Snyder has said he’s made peace with the fact that the film’s loose threads will likely never be properly addressed, but he’s also said there are multiple theatrical and home releases planned for the DC movie–including a black and white IMAX version.

IGN Fan Fest also recently revealed a lot about the new movie. We saw the intro to the HBO Max Snyder Cut of Justice League and the director explained why Joker is in the movie.
