James Gunn Drops Another New The Suicide Squad Trailer

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn has revealed a new trailer for the upcoming August film. And while the first trailer was a laugh riot, the newest Suicide Squad trailer is a bit more serious.

According to Gunn, he didn’t want to give people the same thing over and over again, which you can see when you check out the trailer for yourself below. “That bugs me when they do that,” Gunn said in a tweet. “If we’re going to ask fans to watch TWO, let’s give them a reason to do so, focusing on different aspects of our film.”

The Suicide Squad will arrive in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6. Various promotional videos have been arriving online and on TV for the film, four months prior to the release. We can expect to see even more in the upcoming months leading to the film’s release.

The movie stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller–all of whom are reprising their roles from David Ayer’s 2016 Suicide Squad movie. New to the cast are are Idris Elba as Bloodsport, John Cena as Peacemaker, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Sean Gunn as Weasel, Sylvester Stallone as King Shark, Michael Rooker as Savant, and Peter Capaldi as Thinker. The film follows a group of supervillain convicts who are given the chance to take time off their sentences by completing various impossible tasks–or suicide missions.

One thing comic book fans have noticed is that King Shark looks quite a bit different in the upcoming movie, as he isn’t a hammerhead shark anymore. “I did tests with the hammerhead design, which I love & originally thought I’d use,” explained Gunn. “But having eyes on the sides far apart made it incredibly awkward shooting interactions with other people. You couldn’t really see him looking at the other person & the shots tended to be too wide.”

Uncharted Movie Delayed A Week

The upcoming Uncharted movie has been pushed back by Sony to February 18, 2022. Prior to this announcement, it was going to release on February 11.

The Columbia Pictures film–a subsidiary of Sony–will have a theatrical release in early 2022 in premium large formats and in IMAX. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland: Double Tap) featuring a screenplay by Art Marcum (Iron Man) & Matt Holloway (Iron Man) and Rafe Judkins (Agents of SHIELD).

The upcoming movie is based on the game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Tom Holland will star as Nathan Drake and will feature Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan, Sophia Ali as Chloe Frazer, and Antonio Banderas in an unrevealed role.

The Uncharted movie was originally going to release on July 16, 2021 before it was pushed to February 11, 2022 earlier this year.

Star Holland was putting in the work for this movie, which involved a lot of action sequences for him. “I was getting so beat,” he told Esquire. “I was battered and bruised, and I had tendinitis in my hamstring. I will never do a sword-fight scene ever again.”

The Uncharted movie has been in development hell since 2008, and a lot has happened since then. Check out GameSpot’s breakdown of everything that’s happened to the Uncharted movie the past 13 years.

E3 2021’s Digital Show Will Be Free, More Info Coming Soon

What E3 2021 will look like remains a mystery, but the first official details are beginning to come to light. The ESA announced on Thursday that E3 2021 will go ahead as a digital show, at least in part. And, in response to a leak that suggested it might charge for attendance or certain content, E3 2021’s digital show will be free for all attendees and not include any sort of paywall.

The wording of the ESA’s announcement doesn’t make it clear if E3 2021 will be an all-digital show or if it will have some physical presence as well. We won’t have to wait much longer to learn more about what’s in store, as the ESA said the first details will be announced “very soon.”

A spokesperson for the ESA told GameSpot, “We’ve been hard at work to deliver a free experience for everyone interested in E3 2021, and we’re excited to share further details soon.” Subsequently, a spokesperson added that “there will be no elements at E3 2021 that will be behind a paid-for pass or paywall,” denying what was outlined in leaked documents obtained by VGC.

This information comes after pitch documents for a new, all-digital E3 showcase leaked earlier this year and pointed to significant changes for the event as it shifted away from a physical show to a digital one in the wake of the pandemic. We still don’t know more about the nature and structure of E3 2021 as it relates to an online vs. physical setup.

There is also no official word yet on when E3 2021 could take place, or what fans can expect in terms of programming and content. E3 traditionally takes place in early-to-mid June.

Although E3 2021 will go ahead, it won’t be the only show in town this summer. Microsoft, and its new subsidiary Bethesda, are planning their own showcases outside of E3. It’s also expected that other publishers will do the same with their own standalone events at different points throughout the year.

E3 was once the biggest show in video games in terms of profile and prominence, though Gamescom is much larger when it comes to total attendance in pre-pandemic years. E3 has been on the outs for years now, as major publishers like PlayStation, EA, and others jumped ship to host their own events outside of E3 and away from the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The ESA itself, which organizes E3 every year, has faced increased scrutiny and criticism of late as well. Its former CEO, Michael Gallagher, was criticized for his ties to President Trump, while Variety reported that half of the group’s leadership either quit or were fired in 2019.

Team Ninja Explains Why Ninja Gaiden Black And Ninja Gaiden 2 Couldn’t Be Remastered

Developer Team Ninja, after announcing the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection in a February 2021 Nintendo Direct presentation, has clarified why two particular entries in the franchise couldn’t be remastered. It all boils down to the inability to “salvage the varying assortment of data” the studio left behind.

When asked in a GameSpot interview whether Team Ninja had considered updating Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden Black, producer Fumihiko Yasuda said the studio couldn’t recover both games’ data. Sigma and Sigma 2 were chosen for the Master Collection because Team Ninja had collected and organized their source codes.

“We did consider it, but we were unable to salvage the varying assortment of data we had left from Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2,” Yasuda said. “However, when we worked on Sigma and Sigma 2, we went and collected as much of that data as possible and organized it. And since we could fully utilize this data, Sigma and Sigma 2 became clear choices for [the Master Collection].”

Yasuda went on to say that all three games in the Master Collection–Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge–“represent the latest installments of the numbered series and they are also the most polished versions featuring many additional modes and costumes.”

The Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, launching on June 10 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, pushes the games to 4K and 60fps. The package also bundles all available DLC across the three titles.

Best Buy Is Running An April Fools’ Day Sale On Deadpool Movies

Best Buy is celebrating April Fools’ Day by having its own silly sale, which we’ll call April Pools’ Day. The entertainment retailer is offering up deep discounts on the various Deadpool movies. Sure, there are technically only two Deadpool movies, but there are various releases of both of them.

Aside from the home releases of the theatrical cuts of the 2016 film and its 2018 sequel, there are two other notable versions of Deadpool 2. First is Once Upon a Deadpool, the PG-13 version of the movie. Because Deadpool 2 is a rated R movie due to violence and language, this version is cleaned up a little bit. However, it features Deadpool reading the story of the film to Fred Savage to add a little bit more time to the movie. Yes, it’s the exact same framing device as The Princess Bride–because that was on purpose.

Finally, there’s the extended cut of the movie or The Super Duper Cut. Obviously, this is a longer version of the movie adding 15 more minutes of jokes and violence you didn’t get to see in the theatrical cut. While this version of the movie may not add a lot to the plot or story, it’s definitely a must-have for fans of the franchise.

Below, you’ll find all six deals for Deadpool, so you can collect every version of the movie that’s been released so far. However, some deals have already started to sell out.

As for the future of the Deadpool franchise, now that the Merc with a Mouth is part of the Disney family, Ryan Reynolds confirmed that they are working on Deadpool 3 back in January, and yes, it will be rated R. One of the original plots–before Disney bought Fox–Reynolds revealed that “Deadpool 3 was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real.” Obviously, that’s not going to happen now though.

Pokemon Go April 2021 Community Day: Shiny Snivy, Community Day Move, And More

April has officially begun, which means Pokemon Go‘s April Community Day is just around the corner. This month’s event takes place on Sunday, April 11, and it features the Grass-type Pokemon Snivy. To help you prepare for the event, here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon Go’s April Community Day.

April 2021 Featured Pokemon: Snivy

The featured Pokemon for April’s Community Day is Snivy, the Grass-type starter from Pokemon Black and White. All throughout the event, Snivy will appear in the wild more frequently than usual, making this a good opportunity to catch as many as you can and stock up on Snivy Candy, which you’ll need to evolve the Pokemon.

The increased Snivy spawns also means you’ll have more chances to catch a Shiny Snivy. While Shiny variants will still be rare, you should be able to find a few with a little persistence. You’ll increase your chances of encountering a Shiny Snivy by using an Incense during the event.

April’s Community Day Move: Frenzy Plant

If you can evolve Servine–Snivy’s evolved form–into Serperior during the event or up to two hours afterward, the Pokemon will know Frenzy Plant. This powerful Grass-type Charged Attack can only be learned during Community Days, so you’ll need to evolve Servine within the designated time frame to get the move.

April’s Community Day Hours

April’s Community Day will once again run for six hours, from 11 AM to 5 PM local time. This means you’ll have until 7 PM local time to evolve Servine into a Serperior that knows Frenzy Plant.

Community Day Special Research

In addition to increased Snivy spawns, there will be an event-exclusive Special Research story focused on Snivy during this month’s Community Day. The Special Research story is called Snivy in the Sunshine, and you’ll need to purchase a virtual ticket to access it. This ticket costs $1 USD and will be sold in Pokemon Go’s in-game shop ahead of the event.

Other Community Day Bonuses

A few other bonuses will be active during April’s Community Day. First, you’ll earn triple the normal amount of Stardust each time you capture a Pokemon during the event. On top of that, any Incense that you use will remain active for three hours rather than the standard 60 minutes. Finally, a special Community Day item bundle will be on sale in Pokemon Go’s in-game shop. The bundle costs 1,280 PokeCoins and includes the following:

  • 50 Ultra Balls
  • 4 Star Pieces
  • 4 Mossy Lure Modules
  • 1 Elite Charged TM
