Adam Sandler Won’t Wait 30 Minutes For IHOP In Viral TikTok Video

Just because you’re a popular and famous movie star doesn’t mean you get special treatment at IHOP. TikTok user and IHOP employee Dayanna Rodas told Adam Sandler that he’d have to wait 30 minutes for a table, and her subsequent TikTok about the encounter has now gone viral.

Rodad has no idea who she was talking to when Sandler arrived, masked, with his daughter in her IHOP branch. The star clearly had no intention of hanging around that long for pancakes, so left straightaway.

Rodad’s TikTok shows security footage of the brief encounter, which she captioned with “Not realizing its Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30min wait and him ofc leaving bc he’s not going to wait 30mins for IHOP.” She added “Pleaseee come back,” under the video.

Ever since Rodad posted the video, it has gone viral, with two million likes and over 15,000 comments. In a follow-up TikTok, Rodad looks astonished and states “I didn’t think it was going to go viral!” It’s unknown where Sandler and his daughter ended up eating.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Sandler’s production company Happy Madison is making a football movie titled Home Team. Kevin James is rumored to have been cast as New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, but it’s unknown if Sandler himself will appear.

Fortnite Players Have Figured Out How To Defeat The New Quest Boss With One Hit

The latest and last Spire Quest of Fortnite Season 6 is here, and in it, you will take on Raz, the thief and hopeful island disruptor. Allied with Jonesy, you can’t let Raz get away with his master plan, but the boss battle with him at The Spire has proven challenging for many players. Thankfully, some outside-the-box thinking has revealed how to defeat Raz with one hit.

How To Defeat Raz With One Hit

Raz is harder than the usual Tower Guardians not just because he has more health than they do, but because he’s also got a lethal energy beam ability that quickly depletes the health bars of anyone within his range. For that reason, it’s been recommended that you keep your distance when taking him on. That was before some innovative players took him on with nothing more than a height advantage and a harpoon gun.

By getting the height advantage, you’re more likely to sneak up on Raz, and from there all you need is to harpoon him once. The gun will yank Raz toward you, doing 75 damage instantly, which is really nothing in the grand scheme of things, but when Raz crashes back to earth, the fall damage will wipe him out.

Then all you need to do is collect the Spire Artifact he drops when defeated and you’ll have reached the end of the season-long Spire Quest arc. Raz can only be defeated once per round, so you’ll still need to be quick, as he’s been a very popular target since this week’s 16.30 update.

We suggest looking around the river for fishing barrels, some of which will inevitably contain a harpoon gun. Then build up to Raz as stealthily as you can, get the drop on him, and go fishing.

If you need to complete the rest of this week’s challenges, we’ve got a full rundown of the Spire Quest as well as the new Neymar Jr. challenges.

Netflix Adds “Play Something” Shuffle Feature For All Users

Starting today, Netflix has officially launched its new “Play Something” feature to all its users, adding a button across the streaming service’s user interface to automatically suggest new shows and movies. As a tweet from Netflix indicates, the button will be located in multiple spots throughout the app: “underneath your name, as a row on the homepage, or in the menu.”

“Play Something” will show viewers one of three selections: either a new series or film similar to ones you’ve watched before, an episode or film you’ve already watched long ago and may want to revisit, and an episode from a show you’ve started but haven’t finished (picking up exactly where you left off). Netflix also released a quick video announcing this new viewing option, featuring Will Arnett as a remote who is tired of having its buttons pushed–check it out below.

The big takeaway from the video above, Netflix seems to be hoping, is that the feature isn’t understood as a “random” button that disregards your established tastes and preferences on the streaming service. On the other hand, the feature seems just as likely to help you add to your likely daunting queue as it does help you catch up on it.

Netflix, for its part, is certainly doing its part to keep supplying more content to watch. As announced earlier this year, the streaming service has been releasing a new movie every week all year, and plans to spend $17 billion for all new content coming in 2021. The company also recently hit a staggering total of 208 million subscribers, and according to 39% of Americans in a recent poll, is thought to have the best original content of all the streaming services.

Samsung Launches Galaxy Book Pro And Pro 360, Super-Thin And Powerful Laptops

Samsung unveiled both the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptops during a press event on April 28, and the ultra-thin laptops combine PC power with smartphone portability. In the case of one of the Galaxy Book Pro 360 variants, you also get 5G connectivity for fast speeds wherever you’re using it.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360’s 5G feature is available on its 13-inch variant, though it’s curiously left out of the 15-inch model as well as both Galaxy Book Pro versions. Alongside this connectivity, the Pro 360 13 comes with up to 1TB of storage, a Thunderbolt 4 port for 8K monitor support, and a battery that can last about 16 hours with normal use. Its USB-C fast-charger also lets you get up to 8 hours of charge in just 30 minutes.

The Galaxy Book Pro series also supports WiFi 6E for quicker download times at your home office, and a new Pro Keyboard makes use of a scissor mechanism for about 1mm of travel distance–don’t worry if you’re concerned about this being as fragile as the Macbook Pro’s older ultra-thin system, as that used butterfly keys. Apple is switching back to scissor keys for its newer computers, resulting in slightly thicker keys.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360 models include a Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy Book Pro models include a standard AMOLED display, offering optimized and native colors for better gaming. Though it certainly doesn’t have the power of a high-end desktop PC, it’s certainly more powerful than what we’d expect out of a system this light and thin, and a sustainable production process allowed Samsung to use some of the same parts to make multiple screen sizes, cutting down on waste.

Both the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 are available to preorder today. The former starts at $1000 while the latter starts at $1,200.

GameStop’s Outgoing Executives Are Getting Massive Paydays

GameStop’s current CEO George Sherman is leaving the company and retaining 1 million shares that are worth more than $150 million, but he’s not the only departing executive headed out the door with a big payout. The Wall Street Journal reported that three other outgoing executives are set to leave the company with paydays in the tens of millions.

GameStop CFO James Bell, who resigned in February, holds shares worth more than $40 million. According to a report, Bell was forced out by new GameStop chairman Ryan Cohen.

GameStop’s chief customer officer Frank Hamlin, who also recently resigned, has an allotment of shares that are worth more than $30 million. And GameStop’s merchandising executive, Chris Homeister, holds 289,000 shares valued at more than $40 million. He is planning to resign from GameStop in the time ahead.

Bell, Hamlin, and Homeister might make even more money, as their employment agreements contain incentives based on GameStop’s overall performance.

These kind of stock rewards are often given to executives as a method of providing an incentive to steer a company to successful times. In the case of GameStop, the stock value is exceptionally and historically high thanks in part to the Reddit short-squeeze situation.

The value of the executives’ stock is related to GameStop’s share price, so it could go up or down when they decide to sell, if they do at all.

Looking ahead, Cohen–who is one of GameStop’s single largest investors–has assembled a new team around him made up of other executives from his pet food company Chewy, as well as people from Amazon.

GameStop just recently sold 3.5 million shares, generating $551 million, to help accelerate GameStop’s growth and digital transformation.

Bloomberg cited sources saying Cohen plans to push “rapidly” into e-commerce, taking some of his learnings from his pet food company Chewy and applying them to GameStop. He also plans to make GameStop’s customer service better and “aggressively” expand the products that GameStop offers. One major potential issue is that GameStop has a lot of physical stores, and the report said the plan is to close stores and transform the ones that do stay open into things like “training centers for aspiring esports gamers.”

Sports betting website Bookies.com has released odds on who will be the cover athlete for EA Sports’ Madden NFL 22, and the current favorite would be the first-ever Jeopardy host to land on the annual franchise’s cover.

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is a close second at 6/1, while Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald are tied for third at 15/2.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady appears on the list twice, both by himself at 17/2 odds and in a joint cover with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at 12/1. Ewan McGregor On Obi-Wan Series, Using Epic’s Tech, And The Luke Skywalker Rumors

Ewan McGregor has shared some new insight on the upcoming Obi-Wan series for Disney+, saying in a new interview that he is particularly impressed by the technology that the production company is using to create virtual sets.

As announced previously, Lucasfilm is working with Fortnite studio Epic Games and Star Wars effects company Industrial Light and Magic on new tech called StageCraft that uses Epic’s Unreal Engine to project scenes onto LED screens surrounding the physical set. He also touched on the Luke Skywalker rumors and being in a better place in his life.

This allows the producers to create seemingly any type of environment that actors can actually see instead of having to envision it in their mind with a green/blue screen.

McGregor told The Hollywood Reporter that he was working almost exclusively with bluescreens on Revenge of the Sith, and it was far from ideal, which is why he’s happy to film Obi-Wan in a new way.

“After three or four months of that, it just gets really tedious–especially when the scenes are … I don’t want to be rude, but it’s not Shakespeare,” he said of the earlier Star Wars films from George Lucas. “There’s not something to dig into in the dialogue that can satisfy you when there’s no environment there. It was quite hard to do.”

For the Obi-Wan series, McGregor is excited to get to work using the new StageCraft technology. “They project [the virtual backgrounds] onto this massive LED screen. So if you’re in a desert, you’re standing in the middle of a desert. If you’re in the snow, you’re surrounded by snow,” he said. “And if you’re in a cockpit of a starfighter, you’re in space. It’s going to feel so much more real.”

Production on Obi-Wan hasn’t started yet, but McGregor has done some screen tests with director Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul, American Gods) and “other people.” McGregor said Chow is a “really good director.” As for who else he’s done screen tests with, could one of them be a young Luke Skywalker?

“That’s very possible,” he said. “I don’t know.”

Overall, McGregor said he’s really excited to get started on Obi-Wan. “Maybe more so than the first ones, because I’m older–I just turned 50– and I’m just in a much better place,” he said.

The Obi-Wan series is one of 10 new Star Wars shows coming to Disney+. It was recently announced that Maya Erskine (Plus One, Pen15) had joined the cast. Additionally, Hayden Christensen is back as Anakin Skywalker.

Pixar’s Luca New Trailer Promises A Small Town Sea Monster Adventure

The new trailer for Luca has been released. The latest Pixar movie hits Disney+ on June 18.

The film focuses on Luca and Alberto, a pair of young sea monsters who live in the ocean near a small Italian town. Despite being warned by Luca’s mom not to go near the surface, the pair decide to experience life amongst people–and luckily, the pair transform into human form when they are dry. But keeping their true identities a secret proves tricky when even the slightest drop of water starts to change them back. It looks like a warm and funny fantasy comedy–check the trailer out below:

Luca stars Jacob Tremblay (Room, The Predator) as Luca and Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam, It) as Alberto, plus Maya Rudolph and Jim Gaffigan as Luca’s parents. It’s directed by Enrico Casarosa. Check out the previous Luca trailer for more.

The film was originally set for a theatrical release, but in March, it was announced that it will be released straight onto Disney+. As with Pixar’s Soul, which hit the platform in December, Luca will be available to subscribers at no extra cost.

The 101 Dalmatians prequel Cruella and Marvel movie Black Widow are also heading to straight Disney+, in May and July respectively. However, unlike Luca, these will be Premier Access titles, costing extra to watch. Previous Premier Access titles such as Mulan and Raya and the Last Dragon both cost an additional $30 on top of the regular Disney+ subscription.

New Pokemon Snap Review Roundup

Pokemon fans clamoring for a sequel to Nintendo 64 classic Pokemon Snap are finally getting their wish granted this week, with the release of the creatively-titled New Pokemon Snap on Nintendo Switch. A far cry from the usual collecting and battling focus of an ordinary Pokemon game, Snap is all about nature photography and capturing that perfect photo.

Like the original Pokemon Snap, you’ll explore territory using an enclosed vehicle, allowing you to photograph Pokemon in their natural habitats. The sequel adds new equipment to draw out various behaviors from the creatures, and a day/night mechanic to let you observer different Pokemon based on the time of day, but otherwise it’s very similar to the game fans remember.

“Snap has always been about the joy of discovery and uncovering the secrets of the Pokemon world without interfering with it,” Jenae Sitzes wrote in GameSpot’s New Pokemon Snap review. “Its long-lasting charm has stemmed in part from emulating one of the greatest joys of photography: witnessing and capturing moments it felt like you weren’t supposed to see, like a group of Charmander performing a synchronized dance inside a volcano. 20 years later, that same charm and mystique is present in New Pokemon Snap on Nintendo Switch.”

To give you a broader range of critical reviews, we’ve compiled reviews from around the industry. For even more impressions, check out GameSpot sister site Metacritic.

  • Game: New Pokemon Snap
  • Platforms: Nintendo Switch
  • Developer: Nintendo / Bandai Namco
  • Release Date: April 30
  • Price: $60 / £60

GameSpot — 8/10

“Though there’s sometimes a disparity between photos that make it into your Photodex and the ones you like the most, the core motivation of catching a Pokemon doing something particularly cool remains the driving force and the satisfying draw of New Pokemon Snap. 20 years later, taking photos of Pokemon in the wild remains as fun and exhilarating as it always was, and though it’s been a long time coming, New Pokemon Snap was worth the wait.” — Jenae Sitzes [Full Review]

EGM Now — 5/5

“New Pokémon Snap might be one of the most thoroughly pleasant games that’s come out for the Switch, if not ever. While the core gameplay is the same as it was in 1999, everything about the 2021 game is better. The environments are visual delights, the Pokémon are lovingly recreated, and the progression and pacing are just right. If the hobby of gaming has started to feel like a second or third job, then New Pokémon Snap might just be the vacation you need.” — Michael Goroff [Full Review]

ScreenRant — 4.5/5

“New Pokémon Snap is a stunning experience that, at its best, feels like Pokémon for the first time. It’s a little awkward to start, and the number of Pokémon on screen at one time can feel overwhelming, but it quickly becomes a relaxing and enjoyable trip through a newly discovered region. Despite not having the intense battle sequences of mainline entries in the series, New Pokémon Snap is just as exciting and challenging as a traditional creature battler. New Pokémon Snap is a game that Pokémon fans will fall in love with, while anyone put off by the battling aspect of the franchise will find a game that extolls the aesthetic virtues of the series in a much calmer, often engaging manner.” — Zackerie Fairfax [Full Review]

Game Informer — 8.5/10

“New Pokémon Snap delivers all the thrills of the original game, but that throwback spirit isn’t the only part of the experience that will give you a feeling of déjà vu.” — Brian Shea [Full Review]

VG247 — 4/5

“Even with the grind, I do adore this game, though. It’s a video game safari that manages to evoke the sense of wonder of the real thing. It’s a worthy successor to the beloved original; a comforting, gorgeous, lovely little thing that soars when it just basks in its core conceit and lets you at its content.” — Alex Donaldson [Full Review]

The Gamer — 4/5

“New Pokemon Snap has issues when it comes to tedium between courses, arbitrary solutions, and boring, barely functional extra mechanics, but the courses and Pokemon are legitimately incredible. The Photodex is a marvel, multiplayer creates healthy competition for replayability , and just being able to inhabit Lental is a spectacle in and of itself. I’m not sure I’d recommend it to someone who can’t tell Bagon from Beldum, but if you’re a born and bred Pokemon fan, New Pokemon Snap could be your sleeper hit of the year.” — Cian Maher [Full Review]

The Guardian — 3/5

“It is still enjoyable, because the Pokémon themselves are so interesting to look at; it’s just not wildly exciting. It’s a laid-back game and one that offers many hours of gentle photographic research to anyone drawn to Pokémon’s weird world – whether you’re a veteran of 90s Pokémania, or a nine-year-old newly captured by its charm.” — Keza MacDonald [Full Review]

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann On Why The Last Of Us Movie Didn’t Happen

Before HBO announced its The Last of Us TV show, Sony’s movie studio division was working on a film adaptation of the game. It never happened, and now writer-director of the games, Neil Druckmann, has shared some thoughts about why that might be.

He said on the Script Apart podcast that The Last of Us movie was envisioned with having a lot of big set pieces, but this didn’t match up with what made sense.

“When I worked on the movie version, a lot of the thinking and notes were like, ‘How do we make it bigger? How do we make the set pieces bigger?’ It didn’t work for The Last of Us and I think that’s ultimately why the movie wasn’t made,” Druckmann said, as relayed by IGN.

He went on to say that for The Last of Us the game, the team approached it like it was an indie film that felt “small and intimate.” This spirit is being carried forward on the upcoming The Last of Us TV show for HBO, Druckmann said.

“With the show we get to lean into that even more because we don’t have to have as many action sequences as we do in the game,” he said.

For The Last of Us the game, the action sequences were purposefully designed in part to teach players how to perform combat. But this doesn’t apply to the TV show.

“You can throw all that out [for the TV show], because now we’re in a different medium. Let’s play to the strengths of this medium,” he said.

Druckmann is writing on HBO’s The Last of Us TV show with Chernobyl’s Craig Mazin. Pedro Pascal plays Joel and Bella Ramsey is set to portray Ellie in the upcoming series, which is reportedly set to start filming soon in Canada.

In the same podcast episode, Druckmann spoke about Naughty Dog’s ideas for The Last of Us Part III, but he said he’s not sure if the studio will make the game.

In other news, it’s been reported that Naughty Dog is currently working on a The Last of Us remake for PlayStation 5.
