Fortnite Season 5 Introduces Golf, Basketball, and (Possibly) Volleyball

Just as everyone expected, Fortnite now has a golf simulator. OK, few (if any) fans expected new sports to play inside Fortnite, but that’s exactly what they’re doing now that Season 5 has begun.

Fortnite streamers and leakers DieBuddies posted a promotional image hinting at in-game golf early this morning before later posting that it was possible to play basketball, volleyball, and golf.

The trio of sports games are made possible through what Epic has dubbed “toys,” which Polygon reports are unlocked by purchasing this season’s Battle Pass and performing an emote that generates a basketball, golf ball, or volleyball (which looks more like a beach ball but is being called a volleyball by most players).

Nintendo Switch Isn’t the ‘Ideal’ Platform for Yakuza Games, Says Dev

Yakuza series producer, Daisuke Sato, says the Nintendo Switch is not the “ideal” platform to develop Yakuza games on.

Sato has said that while he might consider releasing the Yakuza games for the Xbox One, the Switch isn’t looking likely, and it’s partially down to the console’s user base.

In an interview with gameblog.fr (per Gematsu‘s translation), Sato said that he’s not convinced Nintendo’s console is the right platform on which to develop Yakuza, because “maybe people don’t expect this kind of game on Switch.”

Netflix’s The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter Review

Billed as a dramedy, director Jody Hill’s The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter follows the exploits of a “famous” hunter named Buck Ferguson (Josh Brolin), his faithful cameraman Don (Danny McBride), and his son Jaden (Montana Jordan). For years, Buck was known for his cheesy – yet, apparently lucrative – hunting videos. He and Don would go galivanting across the US in search of Whitetail Deer, often leaving their families and significant others alone for months at a time. Because of this (and his recent divorce), Buck hasn’t had the time to develop a great relationship with Jaden. All hope isn’t lost though. Thanks to his filming schedule coinciding with a purposed father and son hunting trip, Buck will finally be able to spend some quality time with his son.

Octopath Traveler Review

After the credits rolled on Octopath Traveler, I took a 15-minute break before I sat back down, grabbed my controller, and went back to my save file to play more. This, in spite of the fact I’d played 53 hours on my journey to complete the path of Therion, the thief whose story I’d chosen at the beginning. The more I played, the more I loved it.

Going in, I’d expected little more than a charming but run-of-the-mill homage to the 16-bit RPGs I grew up playing. Instead, Octopath Traveler treated me to a stunning tilt-shifted art style and a deep battle system that made every encounter an exercise in thoughtful strategizing.

At first blush, Octopath Traveler is a sprite-based game that looks like it’d be at home in a Super NES Final Fantasy. But there’s more to it than that: Character are 2D, but they move and explore in a 3D world painted with 16-bit textures, with the exception of realistic sand, snow, and water. That lends it a delightful old-school charm while giving it a modern flavor.
