For the qualifier, top players from the first day will compete against each other in a single-elimination bracket the following day, whittling it down from 64 of the best players.

After that round, which will award in-game Stubs based on performance, the Grand Final round will offer up $25,000 in cash, with the top four competitors playing live on the Sony San Diego Twitch channel. Whoever wins gets $15,000, a ball used in the Home Run Derby, $1,000 to spend on the MLB online shop, and over 1 million Stubs. You might even get a few good players with those Stubs!
Because MLB The Show 21 is available on Xbox systems as well as PlayStation this year, it means a whole lot more people are going to be eligible. The game is also free on Xbox Game Pass, and has become something of an obsession for me over the last few months. For anyone planning to compete, consider the low-and-inside sinker when you get into a 2-0 count and watch batter after batter ground into an inning-ending double play. Unless you’re facing me, in which case I’d suggest a changeup right down the middle.

Though rumored to have been destroyed, an eBay seller has reportedly uncovered an incredibly rare Nintendo eReader card from E3 2002 and threw it up for auction, where it’s currently bidding for thousands of dollars.
The card in question is a first-place Kirby eReader card from Nintendo’s E3 2002 show floor. At the time, attendees were given a promo pack containing these potentially prize-winning cards emblazoned with iconic Nintendo characters. They came in three variants–first, second, and third place–with only 10 first-place cards being printed. The seller–andersoncentraal, who has 100% feedback on eBay–posted pictures of the first-place card.
It’s worth noting that the card hasn’t been independently verified. However, andersoncentraal did upload a video allegedly showing the card as a winner.
According to the listing, the card hasn’t been redeemed or graded. However, it’s apparently good for a Limited Edition Gold GameBoy Advance Pokemon/NYC Store Limited Edition handheld. It’s unclear how anyone would redeem the prize, though the card is currently selling for $8,100 USD.
It’s rumored that these eReaders cards have been destroyed. Attendees typically walked over to a scanner at the Nintendo booth to find out whether they won. If the card was a winner, they’d hand the card over to Nintendo to receive their prize, and Nintendo would then presumably destroy the cards.
Though if people forget to turn them in, Nintendo couldn’t destroy them. And there just so happens to be a pack of eReader cards on eBay for $4,400. It’s possible a first- or second-place card could be in there.
A new week means Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone are getting new playlists, store bundles, and more. Perhaps the highlights of this week are the paintball effects coming to multiplayer, and Warzone is getting several major tournaments to spectate.
Black Ops Cold War New Playlists
Starting this week, Paintball Moshpit will arrive in multiplayer, offering a mix of 6v6 respawn modes with paintball impact visuals and sound effects on the new Rush map. Throwback Moshpit returns with Cold War’s collection of Black Ops series 6v6 classics: Nuketown ’84, Raid, Express, Standoff, Hijacked, and now with the addition of Rush.
Double XP And Free Access Weekend
A double XP weekend kicks off on Friday, July 23 for Black Ops Cold War, and the event ends on Monday, July 26. This is only for Cold War’s multiplayer and Zombies, as Warzone isn’t included this time around.
And a Free Access week will run from Thursday, July 22 through Thursday, July 29, allowing players to download Black Ops Cold War for free access to multiplayer and Zombies content, including NukeJacked 24/7, Paintball Moshpit, Throwback Moshpit, Team Deathmatch, party games, and even the new Mauer der Toten Zombies map.
New Store Bundles For Black Ops Cold War And Warzone
If you’re looking for some flashy new cosmetics, this week will add the Biker Babes Reactive bundle, an eight-item bundle with an Ultra rarity tactical rifle blueprint, two Legendary rarity blueprints, a weapon charm, reticle, emblem, and two calling cards.
Next, the Special Ops Pro Pack is a Portnova operator bundle that features what appears to be an all black-and-chrome operator skin. Also included are two Legendary rarity assault rifle weapon blueprints, a calling card, and an emblem. This bundle also includes 2,400 COD Points back with purchase.

Warzone
Activision’s blog post only revealed Warzone tournament details for this week. There are five major tournaments scheduled this week that include big-name streamers and organizations in the Call of Duty community. You can find the full breakdown of those here.
Actor Bill Skarsgard has confirmed the rumors that he’s in John Wick 4, speaking in a recent interview about how he came to be attached to the movie and why his character may not be what you expect. Talking to Collider, Skarsgard said director Chad Stahelski reached out to him directly for the role. It was as simple as that.
As for the character he plays in John Wick 4, Skarsgard wouldn’t give much away, but he teased it was a “fun” role and that it represents “something that I haven’t really done before.”
Skarsgard confirmed that his role in John Wick 4 didn’t involve any fight training, so it appears he won’t be playing someone in a fight sequence. He teased that he joined John Wick 4 in part because the role was an opportunity to do “something different.”
This was an intentional choice from Skarsgard to branch out into new territory to avoid being typecast. He is perhaps best known for playing Pennywise the clown in It. Skarsgard said the horror genre is “something that I’ve done a lot of,” and now he wants to do more comedy and action.
“I think that’s the key to longevity in this business and having a fun career where you can go like, ‘I can do a lot of different things,’ so you don’t end up limited into this box, which happens all the time,” he explained.
Skarsgard is one of a handful of new cast members joining the next John Wick 4. Other newcomers include Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Marko Zaror, Rina Sawayama, and Shamier Anderson. Returning cast members include Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, and Lance Reddick. John Wick 4 opens in theaters in May 2022.
The sequel to Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of The Realms just dropped its final trailer, showing off more blood and war that fans have come to expect from the almost 30-year-old franchise. In the trailer, you can see everybody from Scorpion to Cyrax, and even Shinnok, who made his debut all the way back in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero.
In Battle of The Realms, we have Lord Raiden finally wanting to put an end to the bloodshed of the tournaments once and for all. This leaves the thunder god only one option–one last Mortal Kombat tournament for the future of all the realms. The cast of characters includes fan-favorite fighters Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and a few new faces that make their animated debut.

We all love a good psychological horror movie. There’s nothing quite like being simultaneously terrified and made to really think hard about what you’re watching–and there are plenty of good ones to go around that gain critical acclaim, cult appreciation, or sometimes both. But for every fantastic psychological horror movie to hit screens big or small, there seems to be an equal amount that are just–well. Sometimes just saying they’re “bad” isn’t enough.
From totally unnecessary sequels and reboots that miss the point of their fantastic predecessors to monster movies that conflate cool horror villain origin stories with real-world mental illnesses, bad psychological horror movies often fail on more than one level, and leave you wishing you’d saved yourself the time and read the wikipedia plot summary instead.
Still, sometimes it’s best to come at these situations as well prepared as possible–so we’ve curated a list of 13 psychological horror movies you’ll probably want to avoid. And if you don’t want to take our word for it, give them a watch and let us know what you think in the comments below.
Since launch, it’s been challenging to find one of Nvidia’s RTX 30 series graphics cards. Worse yet, chances are that if you do manage to find one, its price has been grossly inflated, in part due to the ongoing microprocessor shortage. On Tuesday, July 20, Best Buy stores nationwide will be selling new RTX 30 series stock as MSRP, with a system to try and limit scalpers as much as possible. Customers at one of the participating stores will be handed a ticket by a Best Buy employee, guaranteeing your chances to purchase a GPU when doors open at 8 AM. As expected, it seems some eager PC gamers have already started camping out to better their chances.

Best Buy doesn’t say which RTX 30 series cards will be on sale, nor does it list manufacturers, never mind how much stock each store will have on offer. That does make this a gamble, and one that might lead to more disappointment if you don’t manage to secure a ticket. But it’s been months since these GPUs hit the market at MSRP at launch, so this is one of those rare chances to take advantage.

With rumors swirling of a new multiplayer game coming from Ubisoft, codenamed “Battlecat” in early leaks, we finally have the first details of Ubisoft’s next free-to-play multiplayer shooter–Tom Clancy’s XDefiant. Developed by Ubisoft San Francisco, XDefiant is a 6v6 team-focused shooter that’s more in the vein of Overwatch and Call of Duty than the tactical cover-based shootouts from recent Tom Clancy games. While Ubisoft’s slate of games based on that franchise has stuck mostly close to military-realism and gritty storylines, XDefiant is described by Ubisoft as a fast-paced, “punk rock” take on a Tom Clancy game.
Ubisoft has released an announcement video that provides a general overview of Tom Clancy’s XDefiant, which leans heavily into quick, over-the-top skirmishes with other players. In an unusual twist for a Tom Clancy game, it’s also something of a mash-up of Ubisoft’s slate of military action games, incorporating gadgets and other elements from franchises like Splinter Cell, The Division, and Ghost Recon. This shooter will be a new live-service game for Ubisoft, which will see updates and new content over time. The developers have also hinted that XDefiant could go “beyond” the Tom Clancy universe, perhaps even adding factions from other Ubisoft franchises.

The announcement video showcased the different available factions in their element, and they definitely use some familiar tricks and tools that players have seen from other titles. To be clear, you’re not playing as established characters from previous Tom Clancy games, but rather fresh operatives who will move up the ranks. With the four playable factions–focusing on the Echelon, Cleaners, Outcasts, and Wolves–you’ll be able to pick a side and expand your character’s abilities and arsenal, which also include team-specific ultimates to let loose during fights. The operatives of the Echelon faction uses the same tactics and skills that the super-spy Sam Fisher had in the Splinter Cell series. The Cleaners and Outcasts also carry over many of the familiar gadgets and skills they used as antagonists in The Division. Finally, the Wolves from Ghost Recon: Breakpoint also make an appearance, and they’re bringing with them their advanced crowd-control weaponry.

Echelon: Support-type, use of stealth camo and alternate vision modes.

The developers stated that Tom Clancy’s XDefiant will also focus heavily on customization, allowing you to deck out weapons and cosmetics as you see fit. PPlayers will be able to get their hands on the game sooner than you might expect: The first playable beta test for the game will go live on August 5, which will be for players who sign up on the official website. Essentially, Tom Clancy’s XDefiant is all star game filled with the greatest hits of the Ubisoft X Tom Clancy game universe. It’s not quite a Super Smash Bros. take on Tom Clancy, but it still looks like an interesting and totally ridiculous spin-off–which is always welcome. Actor Daniel Radcliffe has jokingly (??) spoken about joining the Fast & Furious franchise, or one like it, in the future–but not in a driving role. Speaking on Conan O’Brien’s podcast, Radcliffe said he would love to be in a big action movie like Fast & Furious, but he doesn’t want to drive a car. Instead, he’d prefer to play the role of the “admin guy” who hangs back and supports the main squad with whatever mundane things they need to get the job done.
“I would love to be in a movie like that but in the instance of [Fast & Furious], if I could have a non-driving part, that would be great,” he said. “Driving on camera is maybe the part of my job that I hate the most. I barely drive in real life. I have a license. But I really am not good at it and don’t really do it. So trying to hit a mark, in a car, is my most hated part of it. I could do some of the admin. I’m sure they must need a lot of that. There must be an administration guy there. Someone has to look after these guys.”
O’Brien brought up a fictional scenario where the main cast of Fast & Furious are trying to solve an embezzlement case and, inexplicably, they do so by assembling seven cars to track down the bad guys. O’Brien joked that any problem in the Fast & Furious series can seemingly be solved by getting people together in seven cars to save the day.
In this scenario, Radcliffe offered that his admin guy character could be well-suited to be the voice of reason. “That’s when my guy would come in–the admin guy–when they have that embezzlement case, they’d be planning for seven cars, and I’d be going, ‘Guys, this is all unnecessary. This is exactly what I do,'” he said. “Hey, if the producers of the franchise are interested I could get into it.”
This came up after O’Brien asked Radcliffe if he had any “big swing” ambitions to flex a different part of his Hollywood muscle, with the host suggesting people might like to see Radcliffe take on a totally different role than he’s known for like a disaster movie or a big action flick. He said he would consider doing a disaster movie if the script was good enough. But Radcliffe is more interested in turning his attention to writing and directing, which he hopes to do soon.
“In terms of an actual thing I would consider a big swing that I know I do want to do, I want to write and direct. That feels way riskier because there is no evidence that I’ll be good in that, other than just the feeling of, ‘I’ve been here a while, I feel like I should be.’
