Seinfeld Is a LEGO Set Now

A fan-designed Seinfeld LEGO set has become a reality, and will be released on August 1.

Following the footsteps of 2019’s Friends Central Perk set, the Seinfeld set is designed to look like the TV set for Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment, including lighting and cameras surrounding a location familiar to any fans of the show (with added extras like a stage for Seinfeld’s stand-up, and a Festivus pole). You also get Minifigs of Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Cosmo Kramer, Elaine Benes and Newman.

Check out a gallery of images below:

Created by Seinfeld fan Brent Waller using the LEGO Ideas platform. “I loved Seinfeld in the 90s and recently re-watched them all,” he explained in a press release. “I thought it was a travesty that a LEGO Seinfeld set didn’t exist so I made an effort to resolve that and make the best rendition of Jerry’s Apartment and the gang that I could. The biggest challenge was trying to cram as much detail from the show into the kitchen, all the cupboards, items in the cupboard and on the bench-tops. But I am very proud of how it turned out.”

The set will be available to LEGO VIP members on July 21, and everyone else on August 1. It will sell for $79.99 USD / £69.99 (Australian pricing not available at time of writing).

F9 Beats Boss Baby 2 And Forever Purge To Stay Top Of Box Office Chart

F9, the latest movie in the Fast & furious series, held onto the top slot in the July 4 box office chart. Despite competition from two high profile new releases, F9 made $24 million in its second week of release, bringing its US total to $117 million. Worldwide, the movie has now made more than $500 million, by far the biggest gross of the pandemic era.

The animated sequel The Boss Baby: Family Business was the week’s highest new entry at No.2, making $17.3 million in its first three days. While this is below the $50 million opening gross of 2017’s The Boss Baby, it’s a solid result given the new movie also premiered simultaneously on NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock.

Another sequel, The Forever Purge, entered the chart at No.3 with a $12.8 million gross. This is the lowest opening of any movie in the Purge series to date, but as Box Office Mojo notes, the modest production costs of the horror franchise means that the films don’t need to be massive hits to be considered successful.

With the exception of the acclaimed black comedy Zola, which debuted at No.10, the rest of the box chart featured titles that have been released over the past few weeks. These include A Quiet Place: Part II at No.4, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard at No.5, and Cruella at No.6. Next week will potentially see a new No.1 movie, as Marvel’s Black Widow hits theaters. However, it will also be available as a Premium Access title on Disney+, and it will be interesting to see if Disney’s new release strategy affects the traditionally huge theatrical audience of a Marvel movie.

  2. The Boss Baby: Family Business $17.3 million
  3. The Forever Purge $12.7 million
  4. A Quiet Place Part II $4.2 million
  5. The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard $3.0 million
  6. Cruella $2.5 million
  7. Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway $2.2 million
  8. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It $1.2 million

Reports Suggest Grand Theft Auto 6 Could Release in 2024 or 2025

Multiple sources suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently aiming for a release in 2024 or 2025.

IGN reported that GTA 6 was in development last year, but it was in early development. Last week, industry insider Tom Henderson put a 2024 or 2025 release date on the project – a timeline which has subsequently been corroborated by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and VGC’s Andy Robinson.

Henderson added that the game would take place in a modern take on the series’ Miami-inspired Vice City, and that the game’s map will be altered over time in the same manner as live service games like Fortnite – details VGC also said it had heard. Of course, as with all rumours – particularly those out of early projects – these details should be taken with a grain of salt, and could change over time.

[ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/01/19/new-npc-tech-patented-by-rockstar-developers-could-be-for-gta-6-ign-news”]

If the game did arrive in 2024, that would create a potential 6 year gap in mainline Rockstar releases, following 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2 (although Red Dead Online was released in 2019). It remains to be seen if Rockstar will have any other new games to fill that gap, but we do know that GTA Online and GTA 5 will be coming as “expanded and enhanced” new-gen console versions on November 11 this year.

Rockstar has also been promising “surprises” related to the 20th anniversary of the release of GTA 3 – including some related to GTA Online. That anniversary arrives on October 22, but Rockstar hasn’t made clear what the anniversary content might be.

Whatever it turns out to be, GTA 6 will be the first in the series’ history as 3D games not to include Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser or GTA’s unseen mastermind Leslie Benzies as part of the development team. Both executives have now seemingly set up new studios, with Houser’s Absurd Ventures in Games appearing last week, and Benzies’ Build a Rocket Boy hard at work on its deeply mysterious debut game, Everywhere.

Fortnite Week 5 Alien Artifact Locations

The Fortnite Week 5 Alien Artifacts are nearly here. They’re expected to appear in-game on Thursday, June 8, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. But these valuable canisters of Alien Aritfacts can be tricky to find as they’re tucked away in new places every week. If you’re wondering where to find the new Alien Artifacts this week, we’ll walk you through how to collect all five and continue customizing Kymera.

Week 5 Alien Artifacts

There are once again five different locations where you can reliably find Alien Artifacts this week. Each canister gives you another five Alien Artifacts, meaning you can add 20 to your inventory this week before you even have to think about Cosmic Chests, which appear randomly in Battle Royale modes played in teams of two or bigger.

You can find the Week 5 Alien Artifacts at the following locations:

  • At a small campsite northeast of Craggy Cliffs
  • Near the basketball court in Retail Row
  • On top of the clocktower in Misty Meadows
  • In the attic of the blue house in the southeast of Believer Beach
  • Above the gazebo in the middle of Pleasant Park
Fortnite Week 5 Alien Artifacts
Fortnite Week 5 Alien Artifacts

Kymera, the Tier 1 Battle Pass alien character, can be customized across a variety of features, including armor color, skin color, armor underglow, eye color, head shape, and more. Each category of Kymera’s features includes a tiered list of options ranging from two to 17 Alien Artifacts per item, including a full set of free options which act as the default Kymera style. To unlock the most expensive item in any category, you’ll need to first unlock all the others before it in the same category.

That’s why collecting all Fortnite Alien Artifacts each week is so important if you’re hoping to unlock the full range of features. Unlike past customizable Battle Pass cosmetics like Chapter 2 Season 2’s Maya or Chapter 2 Season 3’s ‘Brella, Kymera can be restyled whenever you feel like it. There’s no permanent locking-in of his look. You could even make multiple Kymera characters for different presets. It’s like amassing an alien army for your loadouts. But you have to get Alien Artifacts during the week in which they debut, as they’re replaced the following week with new ones.

That means you might still have time to find the Week 4 Alien Artifacts too, if you hurry. If you’re all set there, get a jump on the Week 5 challenges instead and be well on your way to preparing for the arrival of Superman in Fortnite.

Final Fantasy 14 Just Broke Its Steam Player Records, Without Releasing Anything New

Final Fantasy 14 has hit a new peak concurrent player count on Steam despite there being no new expansions or events to generate such a spike.

As reported by PC Gamer, the eight-year-old MMORPG managed to break its concurrent player count again this past weekend, peaking at 47,542 players in the last 24 hours, per SteamDB’s statistics. The latest peak in Final Fantasy 14’s player count marks a substantial increase on the game’s previous record of 41,200 players, which was set back in June 2020.

[ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/final-fantasy-xiv-endwalker-official-full-cinematic-trailer”]

Interestingly, Final Fantasy 14’s sudden influx of players doesn’t coincide with any new additions to the game. Many have speculated that the spike could be attributed to World of Warcraft streamers and players who may have shifted their attention to FFXIV after becoming dissatisfied with the prolonged wait for the WoW: Shadowlands Chains of Domination update.

While the Chains of Domination update has now finally launched, it seems like some players have been picking up other MMOs to fill the void while waiting for Shadowlands’ first big patch. Well-known WoW streamer Asmongold was reportedly amongst those who recently began streaming FFXIV for the very first time to his audience of two million followers.

[widget path=”global/article/imagegallery” parameters=”albumSlug=every-ign-final-fantasy-game-review&captions=true”]

Final Fantasy 14 was released to middling reviews, but starting with a near-total reboot called Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix completely turned around the MMORPG to become one of the most popular and critically acclaimed MMOs going. Shadowbringers then further solidified its status as one of the greatest Final Fantasy games ever made.

Player numbers may continue to rise over the coming months, with the next expansion for Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker set for release on November 23, 2021. Players who pre-order the expansion will be able to play four days earlier on November 19, 2021 — and they’ll have plenty to explore, with a whole new storyline and two new classes amongst the new additions.

Fortnite Season 7 Week 5 Challenges

Don’t look now but the Fortnite Season 7 Week 5 challenges are coming up fast. The Legendary Quests will go live on Wednesday, June 7, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET, while the Epic Quests will follow exactly 24 hours later. As usual, the list has been datamined and leaked ahead of its official unveiling by Epic. If you’re wondering what you’ll need to do for the Fortnite Week 5 challenges, here’s your full preview.

Week 5 Legendary Quests

  • Get Slone’s orders from a Payphone (1) – 15,000 XP
  • Interact with a CB Radio (1) – 45,000 XP
  • Place Welcome Gifts in Holly Hatchery (2) – 30,000 XP
  • Deploy Alien Nanites (1) – 30,000 XP
  • Dance near Zyg and Choppy (1) – 30,000 XP
  • Get infected by an Alien Parasite and talk to Sunny (1) – 30,000 XP

Week 5 Epic Quests

  • Destroy computer equipment at satellite stations or Corny Complex (3) – 30,000 XP
  • Damage IO Guards (250) – 30,000 XP
  • Eliminate Trespassers (2) – 30,000 XP
  • Deal damage with IO or Alien weapons (500) – 30,000 XP
  • Loot supply drops (2) – 30,000 XP
  • Damage a Saucer with a pilot inside (800) – 30,000 XP
  • Open an IO chest at a satellite station or Corny Complex (1) – 30,000 XP

As has been the case all season, this week’s Legendary Quests ae centered around story, and once more that begins with you taking orders from Slone at any payphone in the game. You can find payphones most reliably at bus stops in or near named locations. Their ringing is quite loud, you won’t miss it.

Some of this week’s quests, like interact with a CB radio, place welcome gifts in Holly Hatchery, and dance near Zyg and Choppy, aren’t available yet because they relate to map changes that will come with the Wednesday challenges. But these tend to leak a bit early too, so we’ll continue monitoring them for solutions. Alien nanites aren’t on the map yet either, though it’s apparent from a previous challenge that they will allow for low-gravity movement somehow.

To get infected by an alien parasite, you’ll want to let one latch onto your head. The best place to do this is likely Holly Hatchery (formerly Holly Hedges) because that spot is now a breeding ground for the flying aliens. Once infected, head to Sunny and talk to her at Believer Beach to complete this challenge.

You'll once again be infiltrating the pro-alien movement with Fortnite Week 5 challenges.
You’ll once again be infiltrating the pro-alien movement with Fortnite Week 5 challenges.

As for the Epic Quests, they are once again an assortment of tasks more familiar to seasoned players. You can complete several of them at any of the satellite stations or at Corny Complex, including destroy computer equipment, damage IO guards, deal damage with IO or alien weapons, and open an IO chest.

Alternatively, if you head to any invaded location on the map (with its name written in purple), you’ll find alien AI enemies known as “trespassers.” You can eliminate two of them and use their dropped Kymera Ray Guns for the alien weapon damage, as well as complete the challenge that requires you to deal damage to a Saucer (or UFO) with a pilot inside. The last challenge of the week, to loot supply drops, is best done in Team Rumble where supply drops come fast and furious in the latter portion of any round.

Once you’ve completed all Fortnite Week 5 challenges, you’ll have leveled up at least a few times and be well on your way to completing the Season 7 Battle Pass–or maybe you’re hoarding your Battle Stars for Superman. Don’t miss the Week 5 Alien Artifacts while you’re here.

Bruce Lee’s Daughter Hits Back At Tarantino’s Criticisms Of Her Father

Following Quentin Tarantino’s comments regarding criticism of Bruce Lee’s depiction in Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee has spoken up and said that she is “really f****** tired of white men in Hollywood trying to tell me who Bruce Lee was.”

Tarantino was a guest of The Joe Rogan Experience as part of a media tour for his novelization of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and said that, while he understands Shannon having a problem with her father’s portrayal in the film, everyone else can go “suck a d***.”

[ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/2016/10/14/igns-top-10-bruce-lee-fight-scenes”]

“I can understand his daughter having a problem with it, it’s her f****** father, I get that,” Tarantino said. “But anybody else [can] go suck a d***. If you look at it, it’s obvious Cliff tricked him, that’s how he was able to [beat him,] it’s explained a bit more in the book.”

The Hollywood Reporter reached out to Shannon for a comment on Tarantino’s words, and she responded to the request by writing a guest column that dives deep into her thoughts on “the director’s characterization of the scene and other comments on the actual Bruce Lee.”

“Why does Quentin Tarantino speak like he knew Bruce Lee and hated him? It seems weird given he never met Bruce Lee, right? Not to mention that Mr. Tarantino happily dressed the Bride in a knock-off of my father’s yellow jumpsuit and the Crazy 88s in Kato-style masks and outfits for Kill Bill, which many saw as a love letter to Bruce Lee,” Shannon began. “But love letters usually address the recipient by name, and from what I could observe at the time, Mr. Tarantino tried, interestingly, to avoid saying the name Bruce Lee as much as possible back then.”

Shannon continued by saying that she is so used to others seeing “one facet of my father and blowing that up into a caricature.” Usually, in her experience, there is a “nugget of love” for her father in that caricature, but that is not the case with “Mr. Tarantino.”

[ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/07/26/once-upon-a-time-in-hollywood-review”]

“As you already know, the portrayal of Bruce Lee in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood by Mr. Tarantino, in my opinion, was inaccurate and unnecessary to say the least,” Shannon wrote. “(Please let’s not blame actor Mike Moh. He did what he could with what he was given.) And while I am grateful that Mr. Tarantino has so generously acknowledged to Joe Rogan that I may have my feelings about his portrayal of my father, I am also grateful for the opportunity to express this: I’m really f****** tired of white men in Hollywood trying to tell me who Bruce Lee was.”

Shannon said she is so tired of hearing “from white men in Hollywood that he was arrogant and an a****** when they have no idea and cannot fathom what it might have taken to get work in 1960s and ’70s Hollywood as a Chinese man with (God forbid) an accent.”

She is also tired of white men in Hollywood mistaking his “confidence, passion and skill for hubris,” finding it hard to believe that “Bruce Lee might have really been good at what he did,” that he “wasn’t really a martial artist and just did it for the movies,” “footnoting the impact he had on the action film genre and fight choreography,” and much more.

Shannon went on to clarify that this obviously doesn’t apply to “all white men in Hollywood” as she has worked with “some really wonderful collaborators and partners,” but there have been enough examples of those who have tried to “mansplain” Bruce Lee to her so it suits their narrative.

[ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/09/bruce-lee-30-for-30-be-water-official-trailer”]

While Shannon understands what Tarantino was going for in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and, while she agrees that Cliff Booth could have “beat the crap out of Bruce Lee,” she just believes that he could “have done it so much better.”

“…The scene he created was just an uninteresting tear-down of Bruce Lee when it didn’t need to be. It was white Hollywood treating Bruce Lee as, well, white Hollywood treated him — as a dispensable stereotype,” Shannon wrote.

“In closing, at a time when Asian Americans are being physically attacked, told to “go home” because they are seen as not American, and demonized for something that has nothing to do with them, I feel moved to suggest that Mr. Tarantino’s continued attacks, mischaracterizations and misrepresentations of a trailblazing and innovative member of our Asian American community, right now, are not welcome.

“Mr. Tarantino, you don’t have to like Bruce Lee. I really don’t care if you like him or not. You made your movie and now, clearly, you’re promoting a book. But in the interest of respecting other cultures and experiences you may not understand, I would encourage you to take a pass on commenting further about Bruce Lee and reconsider the impact of your words in a world that doesn’t need more conflict and fewer cultural heroes.

[ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/2013/10/29/bruce-lee-action-hero-hall-of-fame-award-presentation”]

“Under the sky, under the heavens, we are one family, Mr. Tarantino, and I think it’s time for both of us to walk on.”
