Warhammer 40,000 started out as a tabletop game in 1987, but the universe the game inhabits hasn’t stayed put in the meantime. You can find video games, novels, and more to fill out the lore of the war-torn far future universe. The newest Humble Bundle packages together a bunch of first books in various series from the Black Library to help you get immersed in the sci-fi world.
You can spend as little as $1 to get a bundle of six books, or you can buy in at higher tiers to get as many as 26 books for $15. The total value of the books, if bought separately, rings in at $286, so you get a lot of bang for your buck. Don’t wait too long, though, as the bundle goes away on May 5.
The books come in the form of DRM-free ebooks you can download in PDF, ePub, or Mobi formats. You can view PDFs in a number of apps. ePub is one of the industry standards and is viewable in Apple’s iBooks app on iOS. Mobi is the format used by Kindle apps and devices. Basically, these books will probably wherever you like to read your ebooks will almost certainly work wherever you like to read ebooks.

For those of you who are excited for the latest streaming service to arrive–NBCUniversal’s Peacock–the wait is over, kind of. Today, Peacock launched for some people, but don’t expect to be able to watch all of the service’s original content right away.
While not everyone can access the new service, Xfinity customers will be able to use Peacock at no cost on the Flex 4K system through the cable/internet provider. This will be the premium ad-supported tier–listed below–and there will be a full rollout for all Comcast subscribers by April 30.
Peacock’s premium tier will have more than 15,000 hours of TV shows and movies to kick things off, from Parks and Recreation to Jurassic Park and more. There are a plethora of original programs coming as well. However, the majority of them are being delated until 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic, according to Variety.
“The majority of our original productions have been paused,” Matt Strauss, chairman of Peacock and NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises, told reporters on a call. “This will materially limit our original slate at launch and through 2020.”
Peacock has quite a few highly-anticipated original series headed to the service. This includes the MacGruber TV series, which will see Will Forte reprise his role as the MacGuyver parody. There is also a new Saved By The Bell and Battlestar Galactica shows on the way too. Aside from that, Peacock has plenty of other original series coming–many of which are comedies.
Below, you’ll find the tier descriptions and cost for Peacock, which ranges from free to $10 a month.
Peacock tiers and cost:
Free: 7,500 hours of ad-supported programming. Includes current seasons of TV shows, movies, TV classics, news and sports, Hispanic, streaming channels, and more.
$5 a month: 15,000 hours of ad-supported programming. Includes everything in previous tier, plus original series, 4K/UHD viewing, premium moves, full tent-pole series, and more.
$10 a month: Everything in previous tiers, without ads.
If you don’t have Comcast, Peacock will launch everywhere as a standalone app sometime in July.

After raising the prospect last month, Mark Ruffalo has again confirmed he may appear on Marvel’s She-Hulk, the upcoming Disney+ streaming series. However, the Hulk actor cautions that it’s not set in stone and his future as the mighty monster remains uncertain.
“There’s nothing completely at a place where it’s a done deal,” Ruffalo told Variety.
“There’s some talk of having Banner/Hulk show up in She-Hulk. If we come up with something good, that would be really interesting. Right now that’s about it. That’s all there is on the table.”
Ruffalo would love to headline a Hulk solo movie, something he previously admitted would be very difficult given Universal has the rights to any Hulk solo films, hence why Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner has only appeared as a supporting character in the Avengers films and Thor: Ragnarok.
Ruffalo’s idea for a Hulk solo film would explore Banner/Hulk’s life when he’s not alongside his fellow Avengers. “We’ve never really followed him into his life. He’s always kind of off on the side. He’s like the Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of the Avengers,” Ruffalo explained, likening Hulk to those notable supporting players in Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
“It’d be interesting to fill in all the blanks about what happened to him in between all these movies.”
What’s more, Ruffalo — who told Variety he grew up reading X-Men comics — has an even bigger, geekier idea for the green goliath’s screen future:
“Maybe Hulk and Wolverine could hook up.”
Given that Disney now has the rights to X-Men such a crossover isn’t unthinkable. It’s also quite appropriate given that Wolverine made his full debut back in the pages of The Incredible Hulk #181.
Spawn creator Todd McFarlane is developing a new action figure of his most famous creation, and fans are clearly very excited. The Kickstarter campaign for the figure has already earned well over a million dollars.
The campaign began in early April and almost immediately blew past its initial $100,000 pledge goal. As of publish, the campaign has earned over $1.4 million with more than three weeks remaining.
Why so much excitement over an action figure? For one thing, it’s been quite a while since McFarlane has released a new series of Spawn toys. Apart from the figure based on Spawn’s DLC appearance in Mortal Kombat 11, the company hasn’t released a new Spawn figure since 2008. McFarlane Toys has instead focused on other properties like The Walking Dead, Fortnite and its recently launched DC Multiverse line.
But even more significant is the fact that this figure is a remake of the very first Spawn toy released in 1995. Dubbed “Original Spawn Figure Remastered,” this figure is directly based on that old design but upgraded with a larger, more detailed sculpt and improved articulation. The Kickstarter features three different variants – a classic Spawn costume, a modern costume, and a grayscale Artist’s Proof edition. Each version costs $40 (or $80 with an added autograph), and fans can also purchase a bundle with all three versions for $160, an autograph and two additional head accessories.
McFarlane has been revealing new stretch goals for the campaign in recent days, adding more accessories like interchangeable hands and real metal chains to each version of the figure.
There’s never been a better time to set some time aside and do a deep-dive into the weird, wonderful world of Spider-Man movies. There are certainly plenty to pick from, and each incarnation has its own merits, from different Peter Parkers to different villains and different, uh, levels of quality we’ll say. But, of course, if you’re going to go through and rank all the different Spider-Mans (Spiders-Men?), you’ll need to come at them with fresh eyes. We recommend a nice, extensive re-watch marathon.
Fortunately, just about every Spider-Man movie is available for streaming on various services. The only real outlier is The Amazing Spider-Man, which you’ll have to pick up as a rental if you want to relive Andrew Garfield’s glory days all over again. Everything else, however, you can find with some fancy footwork and the right subscriptions to streaming platforms like Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime.
Here’s where you can find each Spider-Man movie to watch right now from the comfort and safety of your own home.
Spider-Man – Hulu, IMDb TV
Spider-Man 2 – FX Now, Direct TV, Starz
Spider-Man 3 – Netflix
The Amazing Spider-Man – Rent on iTunes, Vudu, Amazon Prime
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – FX Now, Hulu (with live TV)
Spider-Man Homecoming – FX Now, Hulu (with live TV)
Spider-Man Far From Home – Starz on Amazon Prime
Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse – Netflix

Listen, I know we just got our hands on the long-awaited reimagining to one of the most beloved games ever with Final Fantasy 7 Remake. But as the first wave of folks work their way to finishing this 40-hour(ish) journey through Midgar–which was just the opening portion of the original game–we naturally begin to wonder where FF7 Remake goes from here. You probably have questions, like how many parts will it be, or how long will we have to wait for the next entry?
For one, I would say relax and let the development team do their thing, because as a reminder, the next part in FF7 Remake is currently in development. In a Square Enix blog post back in November 2019, game director Tetsuya Nomura stated, “We’ve already begun working on the next one as well, but I’m confident that playing through this title will expand your expectations just like the world that extends beyond Midgar.”
Our own senior editor Edmond Tran had a conversation with producer Yoshinori Kitase just last month, and asked Kitase-san how he feels about the possibility of working on FF7 Remake for the rest of his career. He said he isn’t worried about the commitment, concluding, “I think it is a very important thing.” He also echoed Nomura-san’s assertion, saying that the team isn’t taking a break from the Remake project and that they’ll “get straight to it.” (You can read GameSpot’s full interview with Kitase-san for more.)
Of course, it’s ambitious to break out what was already a deep RPG into much more expansive chapters with brand-new story elements, but the team hasn’t said anything about a definitive roadmap other than the fact that the project is huge. In an interview with Famitsu, as translated by DualShockers, Kitase-san said, “Its story is far from over. With this first game, we showed how there is great potential for the future, and we included many hints regarding what’s coming next.” Now that the first part is out, it seems that keeping fans in the loop is something that Square Enix wants to do as well. “I’m looking forward to seeing the fans’ theories on social media regarding what could happen now. We will keep in touch with everyone so we can all make this project grow together,” Kitase-san affirmed.
You’ll be seeing a lot more of Sephiroth in the future.
While there’s currently no word on when Square Enix plans to launch the next part to the Remake project (and the team itself may not know either), it’s important to keep in mind that the groundwork has been laid with FF7 Remake finally released. In a story about Nomura confirming the development of the second part, IGN wrote, “A Square Enix representative did clarify though that the development team is planning the volume of content for the second part of the series, and that the team anticipates that the development of the second game will be more efficient.”
So with that said, you shouldn’t expect another five-year gap between the start of development and launch, especially with the foundation that’s been set when it comes to the combat mechanics, the general flow between gameplay systems, and Square Enix’s commitment to using Unreal Engine 4. For context, FF7 Remake went into development and full production in 2015 and was officially revealed at E3 2015. It was then decided in 2017 that FF7 Remake would be a multi-part series and a project developed primarily by an internal team rather than through external partners. According to a translation by Gematsu, project lead Naoki Hamaguchi at the time said, “We want to control everything, including quality, on a stable schedule.”
“We’ve already begun working on the next one as well, but I’m confident that playing through this title will expand your expectations just like the world that extends beyond Midgar.” – Game director Tetsuya Nomura in November 2019
Square Enix as a whole is no stranger to making numbered Final Fantasy entries into multi-part sagas either. Through different development teams, we’ve seen FFXIII to FFXIII-2 to Lightning Returns, the various episodes of FFXV, and the critically-acclaimed expansions of FFXIV that have encapsulated a decade’s worth of interconnected storytelling. No doubt that the stakes and expectations are higher with what comes next in FF7 Remake, though.
For now, we can at least enjoy what we have at the moment. Whether you’re a newcomer or long-time fan, our Final Fantasy 7 Remake review makes a clear and strong statement that it’s an essential game regardless. It takes what was about a six-hour portion of the original and expands on it in meaningful ways for what’s now a modernized adventure of around 40 hours. Who knows what’s in store for its future parts, but we’ll keep our ear to the ground to have covered for everything FF7 Remake.

In a statement issued to GameSpot and many others, Sega/Atlus said, “That listing is an error and we’re looking into having it taken down and how it happened.” As for the first-party games on Amazon France, Sony also told IGN, “The listings are not accurate. We have made no announcements to bring these games to PC.” So, that’s that on that, those games will remain PS4 exclusives.
Sega and Atlus have ported some games to PC in the past, namely the original version of Catherine which hit Steam in early 2019 (eight years after its initial release). Sega, specifically, has been rolling out the Yakuza franchise for PC in recent years with Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2. However, Persona still seems to be the tough case for porting–the core Persona games remain on PlayStation systems while Shin Megami Tensei games and some Persona spinoffs can be found on Nintendo systems.
In 2015, Amazon France listed a PC version of Bloodborne, which of course didn’t happen (or hasn’t happened yet). But to complicate things, Amazon France did show a PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn before the port was confirmed to be in the works last month.
As for P5R itself, well, it’s an incredible game that we’d recommend regardless. In my Persona 5 Royal review, I concluded that it “asserts itself as an unforgettable and empowering RPG that should be recognized as one of the best games of our time.”
