iPhone 11 Pro Review

Meet Apple’s first ‘Pro-level’ smartphone, the iPhone 11 Pro (see it at Amazon). This is the first time Apple has put the “Pro” designation on its phones but what has it added to make this $999 phone worthy of such a title?

Well, quite a lot actually: its new triple-lens camera that includes an ultra-wide view, one of the brightest OLED displays available, and an included 18W fast charger, just to name a few. After years of lagging, the iPhone 11 Pro has not only caught up, but also leaped above and beyond, its Android phone rivals in a few areas.

Joker: Joaquin Phoenix on the DC Movie’s Makeup Design

You can watch Joaquin Phoenix’s comments on his Joker makeup in the video above or read what he had to tell us below.

Joaquin Phoenix wasn’t as involved in the development of his Joker’s clown makeup visage as you might think, but the actor did reveal his one big contribution to the character’s appearance during our recent interview in L.A.

Phoenix said director Todd Phillips sent him pictures where they had photoshopped the Joker makeup onto photos of Phoenix’s face from past films. This Joker’s clown face differs from past looks thanks to dashes of blue. The actor told Phillips the Joker look they had come up with was “amazing.”

“I thought

was brilliant to really base that look in reality, to base it off of a clown and this work that he does,” Phoenix said, calling it a “really interesting way” to approach the character’s look.

The Bradwell Conspiracy Hands-On Preview

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I sat down to play The Bradwell Conspiracy, given its publisher Bossa Studios is best known for goofy physics games like Surgeon Simulator and I Am Bread. But don’t let that history fool you – its next project is a clever and charming first-person puzzler that immediately had me comparing it to, yes, Portal.

Watch the video above for a look at new gameplay from The Bradwell Conspiracy.

The Bradwell Conspiracy (out later this year on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and even Apple Arcade) drops you into the middle of a disaster of unknown origin at a not-at-all-suspicious museum/research facility built right next to Stonehenge. You get a pair of AI-powered smart glasses, a new friend helping you from the other end of an intercom, and a device that lets you absorb matter and reuse it to make other objects. From there the goal is to find a way out, though doing so is easier said than done.

A Standalone The Last of Us Part 2 Multiplayer Game Is Actually A Great Idea

The Last of Us’ Factions multiplayer mode is one of the more underrated multiplayer experiences of the last decade. Though it did, and still does, have a dedicated player base, it never reached the heights of popularity games more dedicated to competitive play have. And with the announcement that The Last of Us Part 2 won’t see the mode returned, it seemed like the underappreciated mode was doomed to history. Thanks to Naughty Dog’s confirmation that multiplayer isn’t coming to The Last of Us Part 2, but the work on the game’s multiplayer mode will see the light of day in another way, there’s a chance for it to get its proper due. Most importantly, being separated from a The Last of Us campaign may be the best thing to happen to Factions.

COD: Modern Warfare Feels Different Enough To Be Fresh – Final Beta Impressions

The long-running FPS series Call of Duty returns to contemporary military themes with a reboot of Modern Warfare. But don’t get it wrong, it’s a new take separate from the 2007 game that propelled the franchise, and shooters as a whole, into a new era. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is going back to basics, but a new game comes with the expectations of still feeling new and different, even if it is a reboot of sorts. With the beta wrapped up, we gathered our thoughts about our experience and came away generally impressed, and for various reasons.

In the video above, Aaron, Ryan, and Michael talk about the aspects of the new Modern Warfare that they enjoyed and how those elements relate to the things they liked from previous Call of Duty games. They discuss Ground War, a large-scale mode that pitted two teams of 32 players against each other in the beta, and the polar opposite mode Gunfight, the fast-paced 2v2 mode that challenges you with random loadouts. Other modes discussed include Cyber Attack which puts a spin on the traditional Demolition mode by letting you revive teammates and shift the dynamic of matches. And both Realism and NVG matches force you to play just a bit differently by virtue of their rulesets.

Whether it’s the small changes to movement and weapon feedback or how you’re able to adapt your loadouts in effective ways depending on mode or map, Call of Duty focuses on strengthening its basics. And in our experience, all these small changes to the foundation make its several modes a joy to play.

We’ll see how the full game shakes out when it launches for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 25. In the meantime, you can check out all our coverage so far, including a deeper dive into the Ground War mode, the latest single-player campaign trailer, or a roundup of everything you need to know about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Another My Hero Academia Game Is On The Way

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.

Publisher Bandai Namco has you covered if you’re looking for more My Hero Academia content, as the team announced a new MHA game is headed to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. My Hero One’s Justice 2 is on the way, but no release date has been announced as of yet.

Gematsu reported the news, sharing a screenshot with additional information from the latest issue of Weekly Jump tweeted out by user Spytrue. My Hero One’s Justice 2 is said to be a follow-up to My Hero One’s Justice, which launched on PC and consoles late last year. Not much is known about My Hero One’s Justice 2; however, Gematsu claims it will add new characters–like Kai “Overhaul” Chisaki–and “significantly upgrade” various Quirk abilities. The Xbox One version will be “a digital-only release in Japan.”

In our My Hero One’s Justice review, we said, “It’s a shame My Hero One’s Justice’s Story mode doesn’t do a good job introducing the world of My Hero Academia, with several important narrative beats either missing or revealed through subtitles while you’re busy trying to fight. The offline modes against AI don’t do much for the game either. However, One’s Justice’s combat is both accessible and enjoyable. When two players face off–either online or off–the game captures the adrenaline-pumping feeling of My Hero Academia’s most notable fights. Pulling off moves from the manga/anime and outsmarting an opponent with devastating combos feels rewarding, and that’s enough to keep the player coming back to the game for more.”

In other MHA news, the anime is set to return this October for a fourth season. Funimation announced that My Hero Academia Season 4 will will air on its website and Hulu, with FunimationNow streaming a SimulDub. A second MHA film, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, is scheduled to release on December 20 in Japan.
