The Outer Worlds Has No Colourblind Mode Because It Doesn’t Need One

The Outer Worlds, unlike many games, does not feature any colourblind options in its settings menu. This is not an oversight, however; the game has been designed to be colourblind friendly by default.

Discussing The Outer Worlds on Twitter, Obsidian studio design director, Josh Sawyer, explained that the entire game has been designed to not rely on colour for information. Rather than important colours, the UI uses icons or other indicators to convey vital information.

Stranger Things Season 4 Reportedly Adding Four New Characters

SPOILERS AHEAD for Stranger Things Season 3

Stranger Things 4 is reportedly looking to cast four new roles for the upcoming season.

Sources recently confirmed to TVLine that series creators the Duffer Brothers are searching for four male actors to fulfill the recurring roles – three of which are said to be teenagers and one of which is apparently an adult character.

The outlet describes the three adolescent characters as a “metalhead,” an “entitled jock,” and a doppelgänger of “stoner” Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, while the adult member of the group is said to possess characteristics that indicate he will factor into a storyline that takes place outside of Hawkins, Indiana.

Batman: The Definitive History of the Dark Knight in Comics, Film, and Beyond — $50 ($75)

The oversized, illustrated hardcover just released on October 29. Amazon has it discounted to $60.92, but if you clip the coupon on the product page, an additional $10.92 is slashed from the price.

The book chronicles “every incarnation of The Caped Crusader across comics, TV, animation, movies, video games and beyond” and features perspectives from some of the most influential people who have worked on Batman media. The list of contributors includes: Grant Morrison, Joel Schumacher, Frank Miller, Christopher Nolan, Julie Newmar, Tim Burton, Mark Hamill, Frank Miller, and more. Kevin Conroy, who lended his voice to Batman: The Animated Series, wrote the introduction, and former Batman actor Michael Keaton penned the foreword.

Co-authored by Andrew Farago and Gina McIntyre, the history of Batman is in good hands here. Farago has written similar books about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Peanuts, while McIntyre is known for her writing on Star Wars and Stranger Things.

As a book that covers all things Batman, readers will also find new material from DC and Warner Bros. such as film production photos and animated cels. Perhaps the coolest aspect of this book is the 40-page film treatment written by the late Batman co-creator Bob Kane.

DC Universe vs. HBO Max

Now that we know everything that’s coming to HBO Max, many DC Comics fans have one question: What does this mean for DC Universe? The service launched last September on Batman Day and has since debuted multiple original series while also hosting thousands of comics and a small curated library of classic DC movies and TV shows. But ever since HBO Max was announced, fans have been wondering what will happen to the niche DC streamer since both fall under the auspices of parent company WarnerMedia. And a promotional video teasing that the DC Universe original series Doom Patrol would be joining the massive new Warner Bros. service for its sophomore season only raised more questions.

Red Dead 2 on PC Looks Better Than Ever

When Rockstar revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be launching on PC this November, a year after its initial launch on consoles, we all wondered if the update between versions would be as massive an overhaul as it was when GTA 5 made the platform leap in 2015. The answer is, perhaps unsurprisingly, no – but that doesn’t mean that this is the exact same version that we experienced on PS4 and Xbox One last year.

I recently got a chance to spend an hour or so with Arthur and Dutch and the rest of the Van der Linde gang’s first PC outing. While I may not have been as flabbergasted as I was when we originally saw Red Dead 2 for the very first time, it was nonetheless impressive to see how the PC update has made some subtle – but very important – tweaks to the already-gorgeous world of New Hanover, Lemoyne and the rest of the West.
