The Walking Dead: Negan And Daryl Have A Tense Standoff In New Clip

While war with the Whisperers continues to rage on in Season 10 of The Walking Dead, it’s not the only animosity on display in the series. In an exclusive clip from Sunday’s episode, titled “Silence the Whisperers,” it’s Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) taking the brunt of the aggression from the Alexandrians–specifically Daryl (Norman Reedus).

A description of the episode reads, “Still paranoid Alexandrians get riled up over the Whisperers and take their fear out on Negan. Back at Hilltop, the group deals with an unexpected safety issue.” What a difference a couple of seasons and some massive time jumps make in reshaping the show. While once upon a time, Negan was the man to be feared after he brutally killed Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), he’s seemingly the victim of his fellow Alexandrians these days.

In the clip above, Negan’s close relationship with Lydia (Cassady McClincy) is shown and it’s something Daryl is not happy about. It’s not hard to blame him, though, given his personal history with Negan’s old friend–the barbed wire back named Lucille that he used to smash in the heads of Daryl’s fellow survivors.

“She’s just trying to fit in,” Negan said in the clip, explaining his talk with Lydia. Quickly, Daryl fired back, “Yeah, well, that ain’t ever gonna happen if she hangs out with you, now it is?” Then, without a second thought, he stormed away.

Clearly tensions are high in Alexandria where Negan’s presence is concerned. It’s enough to make you wonder whether he’ll ever earn the trust of those he lives with–or even if he even deserves to.

The next episode of The Walking Dead airs Sunday, October 27 at 9 PT ET on AMC.

Avengers: Endgame Almost Had Hulk and Banner Talk to Each Other

The writers of Avengers: Endgame almost included a scene where Hulk and Bruce Banner talked to each other.

Co-writer Christopher Markus told Cinema Blend that the scene would’ve taken place after Hulk snaps his fingers wearing the Infinity Gauntlet and brings everybody back. In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos sees a young Gamora after he snaps his fingers. So, the writers imagined what Bruce Banner would’ve seen.

“We did actually write a version, and this existed before The Ancient One scene was slowly beaten out, but there was a version where it was Banner talking to The Hulk… and we never shot it, but it was kind of a cool thing to get them both on screen together interacting,” Markus said.

Netflix’s Daybreak: Season 1 Review

This is a mostly spoiler-free review for all 10 episodes of Netflix’s Daybreak, which premiered Thursday, October 24.

Daybreak, as a rambunctious comedy-horror series, doesn’t always hit the mark, but at its best, you’ll find a generous swirl of Buffy, Scott Pilgrim, Zombieland, and other bouncily clever genre super-colliders.

Daybreak is also the latest in a line of notable Netflix offerings involving “teens doing whatever the f*** they want.” Whether it’s outcasts on the run in The End of the F***ing World or youths trying to govern themselves in The Society, the streaming service seems to love asking, “But what if there were no adults?” This show, loosely based on the comic series by Brian Ralph, takes the concept a few steps further by turning high school into Mad Max… with zombies. All while (mostly successfully) mashing things up with iconic movie touchstones like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Goodfellas, kung-fu films, three-camera sitcoms, and more.

Pirates of the Caribbean Reboot in the Works at Disney (Again)

Pirates of the Caribbean is reportedly being rebooted at Disney with the creator of Chernobyl teaming up with a writer on the first four films to work out a story.

Deadline reports that Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, Scary Movie 3) and Ted Elliott (Aladdin, National Treasure: Book of Secrets) are working together to crank out a story that will reboot the blockbuster series. Jerry Bruckheimer is likely to return as a producer, but it’s unknown if Johnny Depp will be back on board.

If this story sounds familiar, it’s because it was reported about a year ago that Disney hired Deadpool and Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to write a Pirates reboot. However, they left the project earlier this year.

The Outer Worlds: Here’s How Long It Takes To Beat

Today is launch day for The Outer Worlds, and as countless gamers start their journey into Obsidian’s latest RPG, many of them are wondering how long it will last them. A few of us here at IGN have already burned through it, so here are our answers to that question.

Dan Stapleton, Reviewer

The clock on my save file read about 30 hours when I wrapped up the final mission, though it’s important to remember that this number doesn’t reflect the amount of time you spend between the most recent autosave and when you die. And though I sailed through the first half without many deaths, I then turned the difficulty up from Normal to Hard and found myself biting the dust fairly regularly if I didn’t take my time when planning out a fight in advance. (In the interest of finishing in time for the review I ended up turning it back down to Normal for the final mission, which is not super easy!)
