Pokemon Sword & Shield 24-Hour Livestream: Start Time And Watch It Here

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.

Fans will be getting another look at Pokemon Sword and Shield very soon. The Pokemon Company is broadcasting a 24-hour livestream related to the games starting tomorrow, October 4. Unlike a typical stream, however, this will be an animal cam-style broadcast from Glimwood Tangle, a mysterious forest area in the Galar region.

We don’t know exactly what we’ll see during this week’s Pokemon Sword and Shield livestream, although The Pokemon Company teases that viewers “may notice things that surprise you.” If you’re interested in tuning in, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about tomorrow’s livestream, including where you can watch it, below.

Start Times

  • 6 AM PT
  • 9 AM ET
  • 2 PM BST

How To Watch

The livestream will be broadcast on the official Pokemon YouTube and Twitch channels. We’ve also embedded the stream above, so you can bookmark this page and tune in right here once the stream begins.

What To Expect

As previously mentioned, this week’s stream won’t be presented like a traditional one; rather, it will showcase 24 hours of “live” footage from an in-game location. According to The Pokemon Company, this stream is part of research being conducted by Sonia, Professor Magnolia’s granddaughter and assistant. The company shared the following message from Sonia regarding the stream:

“My name’s Sonia, and I’m a Pokemon researcher. Here in Galar, I’m always helping out with research for my gran–Professor Magnolia, that is! I’m sending this message because I could really use your help with some research I’m doing. Next week, a camera will be set up in a strange forest here in Galar known as Glimwood Tangle, and the camera will begin broadcasting live footage. The broadcast will last for 24 hours! If you could take a gander when you have time, that’d be just great. Thanks in advance!”

The Pokemon Company has been tight-lipped about what we can expect to see during the stream, but since it is being broadcast “live” from Glimwood Tangle, we’ll likely get to observe some Pokemon in their natural habitat, presumably including some new Gen 8 monsters.

The Pokemon Company has been steadily revealing new Pokemon ever since Sword and Shield were officially unveiled earlier this year, so it seems like a safe bet we’ll see at least one new monster during this week’s stream. In the meantime, you can check out all the new Gen 8 Pokemon revealed so far in our gallery.

Does Joker Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Joker may technically be a comic book movie, but it’s not exactly what moviegoers have come to expect from DC and Marvel movies that have come before it. Joker even stands out in the history of Batman movies, from the campy 1990s films to the more gritty Nolan trilogy.

But it’s not just Joker’s unrelenting darkness and focus on the villain that make it stand out from other comic book movies. There’s also the fact that it doesn’t have a post-credits scene.

That’s right–unlike almost every other comic book movie that’s come out in the past decade-plus, there is no reason to stick around after Joker’s credits begin rolling (unless you just want to sit there and appreciate all the people who worked on this well-made but controversial film, which is totally valid).

We’ll have a more in-depth examination of Joker’s ending up soon, but for now, simply know that the movie has no stinger, mid- or post-credits scene, or any other surprise at the end. Once it’s over, it’s over. There’s no sequel tease–which isn’t to say a sequel can’t possibly happen–and what you see in Joker is what you get.

In our Joker review, we said the movie “wears its influences on its maroon sleeves, but it also carves its own gashes through the blood-soaked landscape of contemporary comic book movies, offering something that, despite teetering on the shoulders of 80 years of history, is wonderfully fresh, dangerously exciting, undeniably entertaining, and rock-solid in its artistry.”

We’ve also dug down into why Joker is so controversial–feel free to weigh in with your own take in the comments.

Destiny 2: Dead Ghost Location Guide For Shadowkeep

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.

As you progress through Destiny 2‘s new Shadowkeep expansion, you’ll eventually happen upon a new item called a Lost Ghost Trace. It’ll tell you to speak with Eris Morn on the moon, and doing so will open up a new series of treasure hunts, of sorts, as you search for dead Ghosts.

There are at least eight dead Ghosts to locate, but they work differently than those in Destiny 1, which you could discover on your own. Shadowkeep’s dead Ghosts involve acquiring a Lost Ghost Trace and then cashing it in with Eris for a quest to find a Ghost in a specific location on the moon. That in turns rewards you with a new lore book and Phantasmal Fragments.

No Caption Provided

Below, you’ll find a list of all of the dead Ghosts we know about, their listed locations, and–where possible–details on exactly where to find them. We’ll continue to update this as we locate more. As you hunt for them, just know they have a slight glowing effect to help you track them down, but you won’t receive any objective markers as you do with the items you hunt down for the Lectern of Enchantment’s Essence quests.

Echo of the Great Disaster — Archer’s Line

Spawn at Sanctuary and head to the left, toward Archer’s Line. Follow the path to the left when it branches, and you should then see it branch again just in front of a crashed truck. Follow it to the right a short ways until you see a jump. Stop there and turn right to face the large fissure in the ground. Just to the right, you should see a lower ledge. Jump down there and move forward to another lower ledge with a crashed truck and other wreckage. You’ll find the dead Ghost nearby.

First Crota Team’s Fallen — World’s Grave

World’s Grave is located within the underground caverns on the moon. You can make your way there by traveling through the Hellmouth.

Adonna’s Quest — Shrine of Oryx

The Shrine of Oryx is accessed through Archer’s Line. Spawn at Sanctuary and go to Archer’s Line, then make your way to the building straight ahead and to the right. Pass through it and follow a path down and into the Hive structure. Proceed through it and you’ll get to the Shrine of Oryx.

The Greatest Sacrifice — Gatehouse

The Gatehouse is a location you’ll find by traveling through the Hellmouth. In the northern section of the area, you’ll find a hole in the side of the top of a structure. Head in there and then turn down the stairs, and follow the path forward to enter the Gatehouse.

Together Forever — Circle of Bones

Make your way to the Gatehouse (as described above), then turn right to proceed through a set of tunnels and rooms. You’ll come into an area with platforms hanging over a giant chasm; just jump to the left and proceed into the next set of tunnels to enter the Circle of Bones.

A True Believer — Summoning Pits

When you enter the Circle of Bones (see above), take the path to the left. Take a doorway to the left and proceed through this hallway, and you’ll find a closed door you can open.

Dark Dreams — Lunar Battlegrounds

The Lunar Battlegrounds are accessed by traveling from Sorror’s Harbor toward the southeast. Spawn at the Sorrow’s Harbor landing zone and head toward the southeastern exit, which takes you across a bridge. Keep moving forward to reach the Lunar Battlegrounds

A Futile Search — Anchor of Light

This is a named location on the map. Spawn at Sanctuary, hop on your sparrow, and follow the path to the right to get there.

Misplaced Trust — Hellmouth

Hellmouth is another named location on the map. From Sanctuary, follow the path to your right, move straight through Anchor of Light, and you’ll hit the Hellmouth. Alternatively, start at Sorrow’s Harbor and take the southwest exit near the landing zone.

How To Get Lost Ghost Traces

Lost Ghost Traces appear to be random drops from activities on the moon, and you’ll need one in your inventory to even see the dead Ghost quests offered by Eris. We’ve found them through various means, including the chest spawned by killing a barrier champion on the moon and completing the Scarlet Keep Strike and Nightmare Hunts.

1917: Sam Mendes and Roger Deakins Recreate World War I

Director Sam Mendes (Skyfall, Road to Perdition) and cinematographer Roger Deakins (Skyfall, The Shawshank Redemption) brought their World War I drama 1917 to New York Comic Con today. The film consists of one single shot over the course of its two hours, with no cuts.

Also on hand were writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns, producer Pippa Harris and stars George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman. Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Madden, Mark Strong and Colin Firth also have roles in the ensemble drama (but weren’t in New York today).

Check out this behind the scenes look at 1917:

The panel began with a tease for the film, which lays out the basic premise: Mendes explained that the movie is set over the course of about two hours on one day. Two soldiers (MacKay and Chapman) are sent on a mission to convey a message that will save 1600 of their fellow soldiers, who have been lured into a trap at the Hindenburg Line. And as noted above, the film is made up of one single take, with no cuts.

NYCC: The First Clip Of The Grudge Is F’d Up

Beloved J-Horror franchise The Grudge is getting a brand new, R-rated installment in the form of a not-a-reboot reboot from director Nicholas Pesce and producer Sam Raimi, on track for release on January 2, 2020. Fans at New York Comic Con were treated to a first look teaser and clip alongside a Q&A panel with the film’s stars Andrea Riseborogh (Mandy), Betty Gilpin (Glow), and Lin Shaye (Insidious).

In the clip, we saw Shaye’s character, Faith, at home in her kitchen. Faith, Shaye explained, is suffering from Alzheimer’s and requires care from a home nurse. The nurse entered the scene to find Faith in her kitchen, chopping away at something, unresponsive to the nurse calling her name. As the nurse approaches, we see that Faith isn’t alone–she’s stabbed her husband in the neck, and he’s laying dead by her feet just behind the kitchen counter. And the thing Faith is chopping away at? Her own fingers.

The gore here is care of The Grudge’s well earned R-rating, which producer Sam Raimi says is a blessing. “[With the rating, director Nicholas Pesce] can let this really scare the audience,” Raimi said during the panel.Pesce, for his part, agrees. “The cool thing about The Grudge movies is that it’s a huge tapestry of all these different families surrounding this huge curse and now we have an opportunity to really lean into that deeper character study stuff,” Pesce said. “There’s definitely a deeper human element to the movie. It’s way more f***ed up.”

He quickly clarified, “not that the wave of J-horror in the early 2000s wasn’t f***ed up, but this one is really f***ed up.”

The brief teaser shared with the panel audience explored some of the newer elements of the remake while winking at some of the more iconic shots from The Grudge movies of days gone by–like the image of a ghostly hand reaching out of the hair of a character in the shower. In the new film, the unlucky shower taker is John Cho, who plays the husband of Betty Gilpin’s character.

Finding a balance between the new and the old was something Pesce and his collaborators took into careful consideration. “It was a tricky dance–there are certain structural thing. All the movies are nonlinear. All the movies have multiple storylines. The rules of things, like once you set foot in the house you’re screwed, the grudge spreading like a virus, and so on. We had to find a balance,” the director explained. “This isn’t a remake or a reboot in the traditional sense. It was about finding those key elements about how the grudge expresses itself. This can happen anywhere. It spreads like wildfire. We didn’t want to throw every familiar thing out, because there are things that are fun for fans to see again–but we wanted to do something new.”

The Grudge hits theaters on January 3, 2020.
