Tokyo Game Show 18 Offers Prizes for Your Opinions on Japanese Games

The organizers of a panel focused on the perception of Japanese games from outside Japan wants you to take a survey to help them out.

Publisher Nikkei BP wants to gather data for the panel via the survey, which you can take here. 20 participants will be picked at random to win a TGS t-shirt, which are admittedly a lot cooler and more eccentric than your average video game con t-shirt. Check out the designs below.

Sharp Objects Episode 5 is Brutal in the Most Subtle Ways

“Closer” is the equivalent of all of Sharp Objects’ carefully laid details, no matter how minute, being thrown together with a whole lot of social terror and tossed into a pressure cooker. This episode is set-up after set-up for all the chips in Wind Gap to come crashing down. Ultimately, they don’t, at least not on a grand scale, which makes sense with three episodes still to go. But then two fairly small moments at the end deliver the payoff to all that tension, just after Sharp Objects lulls us back into a sense of safety and security.

Perhaps most remarkably, this entry builds on everything that made last week’s episode the best yet, and gets even more playful with the show’s small-town setting. Between the tough interactions while the family goes shopping for clothes for Wind Gap’s big holiday celebration and the elongated uneasiness of said festivities that take up most of the episode, director Jean-Marc Vallee is in full Big Little Lies mode here, capturing just about every judgmental little glance from every minor member of the town that HBO’s hour-long timeslot will allow.

Madden 19 Patch Notes For PS4, Xbox One, And PC Released

Madden NFL 19 doesn’t officially release until August 10 (or August 7 if you buy the Hall of Fame edition), but a trial for the game is out now on EA and Origin Access. The game is picking up generally positive review scores, but as is the case pretty much every year, there have been some issues as well. A new patch is out now to fix some of these and other problems, including the Colin Kaepernick accidental censoring issue.

In addition to fixing that problem, the new update makes the game look better by updating a number of stadium exteriors and tweaking player likenesses and bodies. Additionally, the highly touted Real Player Motion feature gets improved with things like better pre-play QB signature looks, more authentic acceleration rates, and the ability for AI ball-carriers to use the new “one cut” running mechanic.

The pre-release patch also adds new commentary and makes some changes to Franchise mode as it relates to skill point progression. Additionally, the patch fixes a really bizarre bug where the camera would exit the entire stadium in some situations. You can see the full patch notes below, as posted by EA in the Madden forums.

For more on Madden 19, check out GameSpot’s Review in Progress here. We’re still testing the online modes, and we’ll report back with a final score in the coming days.

Guardians’ Dave Bautista Calls Working for Disney Nauseating Post James Gunn’s Firing

Guardians of the Galaxy’s Dave Bautista has once again voiced his support for fired Guardians director James Gunn, saying that working for Disney is “pretty nauseating” after the incident.

Bautista, who plays Guardians of the Galaxy’s Drax, said that he is legally obligated to return to Guardians, but the series without James Gunn is not what he signed up for.

“I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for,” Bautista tweeted on Sunday when asked if he had a response for Disney. “GOTG w/o @JamesGunn just isn’t GOTG.
