Netflix’s New Animated Series is Avatar Meets Game of Thrones
Time is going to be key in assessing what The Dragon Prince is in the realm of children’s television. At just nine 25-minute episodes, the show’s first season feels like a taste of whatever former Avatar: The Last Airbender head writer Aaron Ehasz has cooked up for this new world he’s created. But where Airbender felt like Nickelodeon’s response to the extreme popularity of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter back in 2005 (and then became its own thing through masterful storytelling and aesthetic creativity), The Dragon Prince too feels like a response, this time to Game of Thrones. Similarly, HBO’s massive hit fantasy series’ first season also felt like a taste of a world destined to expand in its subsequent seasons.

How Spider-Man PS4’s Best Boss Battles Came to Be
Marvel’s Spider-Man features a handful of familiar foes for Spidey to face off with, but some of Insomniac Games’ coolest fights didn’t originally start out as they appear in the game.
Spoilers for Marvel’s Spider-Man follow.
Speaking to IGN during our Spider-Man PS4 spoilercast, creative director Bryan Intihar took us behind-the-scenes of the game’s more intriguing battles. Watch the clip above to hear directly from Intihar about how the Electro/Vulture and Rhino/Scorpion fights began.
As Intihar describes in the clip above, the Electro and Vulture 2-on-1 battle didn’t always start out that way, but rather was intended to be different 1-on-1 battles. Once Insomniac realized the fun of combining two aerial foes into one battle, however, they figured out a new twist on the late-game fight that solidified it as one of the most unique battles in the adventure.
