Star Wars Resistance Sneak Peek: Why We’re Rooting for Poe’s New Protege

Throughout September, IGN is featuring the best TV coming your way in the 2018-2019 season. Today we’re visiting a galaxy far, far away for a look at Star Wars Resistance, the latest animated effort from Star Wars Rebels creator Dave Filoni. Resistance follows Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono (Christopher Sean), “a young pilot recruited by the Resistance for a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.” The new series premieres Sunday, Oct. 7 on Disney Channel.

Following in the footsteps of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance aims to fill in a period of time that remains unexplored in the franchise’s main saga – taking place before the events of The Force Awakens to offer insight into the inner workings of the Resistance and its scrappy band of rebel pilots and spies.

The hit anime series My Hero Academia is getting a fourth season.

Season 4 was confirmed at the end of the Season 3 finale, “Unrivaled,” which aired today. “My Hero Academia, TV anime season four, is being made!” reads the subtitled version of the finale on Crunchyroll. Check out the gallery below to see the announcement.

A premiere date for Season 4 has yet to be announced, with the episode’s end card simply saying, “coming soon.”

13 NES Games We Want To See On Nintendo Switch Online

After nearly a year and a half since the Switch’s launch, Nintendo has finally rolled out the console-hybrid’s online service. While it now requires players to pay for online play, you do at least get some nice perks. The most noteworthy among them is access to a library of Nintendo Entertainment System games. What’s more: each game now supports online multiplayer functionality, so you won’t need a second player to be in the same room with you. Even games that didn’t originally come with multiplayer support have been given light multiplayer functionality via the addition of a cursor system where your second player can point at the screen and even applaud.

The release of Nintendo Switch Online’s NES library got us thinking about all the games we want to be added in the future. After all, more are slated to release in the months ahead. We have our own ideas as to what should appear on the service. In this feature, we’ve highlighted 13 games we’d love to see appear on the service and talk about how each would benefit from the added online functionality. For your reference, check out our comprehensive list containing all the games in service’s NES game library.

Like its competitors, Nintendo Switch Online can be purchased in different tiers. A single month costs $4/£3.50; three months costs $8/£7; and a whole year costs $20 / £18. Of course, if you have multiple people in your house who want their own accounts, you can purchase a family plan, which costs $35/£26 per year and allows up to eight people to play online. On top of online play and access to NES games, the service also allows for save data cloud save backup and access to special offers, such as the ability to pre-order Switch-compatible NES controllers.

Why the PS4 Spider-Man Deserves His Own Comic

Marvel Comics released Spider-Geddon #0 this week. While that comic serves as a direct lead-in to the upcoming Spider-Geddon crossover, that’s by no means the only selling point. Spider-Geddon #0 is notable for serving as the comic book debut of the Peter Parker of Marvel’s Spider-Man video game on PS4. And if this issue accomplished anything, it’s showing how much potential this version of Spidey has for his own ongoing comic book series.

Warning: spoilers for Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 ahead!

It’s easy to dismiss the need for a Spider-Man comic set in this game’s version of the Marvel universe. Marvel has an overabundance of Spider-Man comics as it is, with books spotlighting the classic Peter Parker as well as offshoot characters like Spider-Gwen, Scarlet Spider and Venom. There’s even an alternate universe version of Spidey in Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows. Is Insomniac’s take on Spider-Man truly different enough to stand out when you cut the gameplay out of the equation and focus solely on story?
