The New GeForce RTX 20 Series Nvidia Preorders Are Live, But Hard to Get

If you buy something through this post, IGN may get a share of the sale. For more, read our Terms of Use.

The GeForce RTX 20 series graphics cards are coming out this week, and from basically the moment preorders went up, they were hard to find. They sold out quickly, from all manufacturers to all different retailers. It’s a bit of a bummer if you were hoping to dive, head-first, into the next generation of GPUs from Nvidia. However, all is not lost.

Your best bet for getting your hands on an RTX 20 series Nvidia card is to buy a prebuilt PC, of which there are MANY options to choose from. The main advantage to a prebuilt is you upgrade everything in one fell swoop, so you don’t need to worry about surprises. Nothing sucks the fun out of a room faster than realizing the PSU on your current rig isn’t going to handle the new GPU, or any of about a million other potential surprises.

Fortnite Adding New Item Soon Ahead Of Season 6

We’re in the waning days of Fortnite Season 5, but developer Epic still has some new content in store for the popular battle royale game before Season 6 officially arrives. We’ve gotten our first glimpse at one upcoming item courtesy of Fortnite’s in-game news feed, and it looks like it could shake the game up fairly dramatically.

A listing has appeared in Fortnite’s News section for an item called the Port-a-Fortress. According to the feed, the item is “coming soon” to the game, presumably as part of this week’s update. Based on its name, it sounds like an enhanced version of the Port-a-Fort, a portable item introduced earlier this spring that can spawn a fort a few seconds after being thrown.

Based on the Port-a-Fortress’s accompanying description, it sounds like it works similarly to the Port-a-Fort. “Toss down the Port-a-Fortress and take defense to new heights,” the description reads. You can get a glimpse of the item below.

Epic has been introducing new items to Fortnite on an almost weekly basis. Last week, the developer rolled out the 5.40 content update, which added the Suppressed Assault Rifle. The studio has also periodically removed weapons from the game’s arsenal and put them into the Vault; most recently, Epic vaulted the Drum Gun. However, weapons that have been removed from Fortnite could potentially return to the game down the line.

Season 5 of Fortnite is scheduled to wrap up on Tuesday, September 25, making this your last chance to complete any remaining challenges you need to do before Season 6 kicks off. Epic has released 10 weekly sets of challenges throughout Season 5; you can find all of them and tips on how to complete them in our Fortnite Season 5 challenge roundup. You can also see the items you can earn for finishing challenges in our Season 5 rewards gallery.

Buy A $200 Red Dead Redemption 2 Blanket For Those Cold Western Nights

Rockstar Games is selling a Red Dead Redemption 2 blanket and it’s available for purchase right now. The blanket costs $200, and only ships to U.S. addresses. Rockstar has a few RDR2-themed candles for sale too if you want to create a bit more ambience when you’re playing the game this October.

The RDR2 blanket is 68 x 39 inches, which is about the size of a single bed mattress. The blanket is felt bound and made from 82% pure virgin wool and 18% cotton. It depicts the game’s Van der Linde gang riding against a red background. You can pre-order the blanket right now from GameStop, and it will ship out the same day as RDR2’s release.

You can also pre-order the candles from GameStop, and they’ll ship the same day. If you want one, you’ve got three options. The Black Glass, Dynamite, and Barrel candles are each appropriately shaped like the item they’re named after, and cost $50, $80, and $100 respectfully. Every candle is labeled with the RDR2 logo, and smells like a mixture of blood orange, incense, amber, rockrose, smoked cedar, sandalwood, violet leaf, and juniper. Rockstar has plenty of other physical goodies on the way, if you want to buy even more merchandise.

The Joker Movie Finds A New Thomas Wayne After Alec Baldwin Quit

Batman finally has a dad… again. After Alec Baldwin dropped out of the role of Thomas Wayne in the upcoming Joker standalone movie starring Joaquin Phoenix, director Todd Phillips had a tall order ahead of him. Who would they find that could play the patriarch of the Wayne family?

According to ComicBook.com, that person is none other than former Devious Maids and Person of Interest star Brett Cullen. Interestingly, this won’t be the actor’s first time in a Batman universe film. He previously played a congressman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Additionally, he had the role of Barton Blaze–father to Nicolas Cage’s Johnny–in Ghost Rider.

Baldwin cited scheduling issues when he announced he was no longer playing the role, days after it was reported that he had been cast. At the time, The Hollywood Reporter claimed that this movie’s version of Thomas would somewhat resemble Donald Trump in the 1980s, casting the Wayne Enterprises head honcho as a “cheesy and tanned businessman.”

The news of Cullen’s casting comes on the heels of Phillips sharing the first look at Phoenix’s titular character before he goes full-on psychotic clown. It’s been rumored that the character’s name is Arthur Fleck, with the movie telling the origin story of the clown prince of crime.

Joining Phoenix and Cullen in the film are Deadpool 2 breakout star Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, and Frances Conroy. The standalone Joker movie currently has no release date, though production is underway.

Patrick Stewart Cast as Bosley in Charlie’s Angels Reboot

Patrick Stewart is in the final stages of negotiations to join the cast of Charlie’s Angels as Bosley, according to THR.

Elizabeth Banks’ reboot of the iconic franchise will include multiple characters named Bosley opposed to just a sole person being the mysterious face behind the detective agency, like in the past with Charlie Townsend.

As reported prior, Banks is also starring in the film as Bosley, yet it is unknown how the multiple roles will unfold.

Cayde’s Will: How To Get Ace of Spades In Destiny 2: Forsaken

If you’ve paid even a little attention to Destiny 2: Forsaken, you probably know that it’s the death of your pal Cayde-6 that kicks off the expansion’s events. Early in the Forsaken campaign, you’ll find Cayde’s Will sitting in the Pursuits tab of your inventory. It’s this item that guides you through the steps required to find and repair the Exo hunter’s exotic hand canon, Ace of Spades.

The Ace of Spades is a powerful weapon that can bring down hordes of enemies in PvE and deliver tons of damage to opponents in the Crucible. It’s definitely worth getting, even though completing the quest steps is no easy task. Here’s a rundown of how to complete each step.

No Caption Provided

1. Finish the Forsaken Campaign

The first thing you need to do is to get the Ace of Spades from Uldren Sov, the person responsible for Cayde’s death. To do that, you simply have to finish the Forsaken campaign.

2. Bring the Gun to Banshee-44

If only getting the Ace of Spades were as easy as finishing the campaign. But this is Destiny 2, a game that’s all about the grind. The weapon isn’t in workable condition when you retrieve it from Sov, so now you have to go about fixing it. The first step toward doing that is bringing the broken weapon to Banshee-44, the gunsmith in the Tower.

3. Kill 5 Invaders with a Hand Canon in Gambit

You’ll need to run some errands before Banshee can fix up the Ace of Spaces, starting with killing five invaders with a hand canon in Gambit mode. You’ll want to be careful, because the step’s in-game wording has been causing confusion since the expansion landed. To complete this quest step, you have to play Gambit mode and wait for invaders to come over to your side. When they do, you need to use a hand canon to get the killing shot on them. If you invade the other side and get hand canon kills, they won’t count toward completing this step in Cayde’s Will.

This step is a tough for a number of reasons. For one thing, invaders have an extra layer of shielding, so they require more hits than usual before they die. Invaders also tend to enter your side when they have their super charged or are loaded up with power weapon ammo, making them formidable foes.

The best way to complete this step is to play with a group of people who are willing to help you get your invader kills. They can help whittle down invaders’ health, and then hand off the final blow to you and your hand canon. If you’re playing solo, you can try using more powerful weapons to cut down an invader’s health before switching to a hand canon for the last few shots. Alternately, you can equip hand canons in both your primary and secondary weapon slots so you can switch when you run out of bullets. Really, it takes luck, patience, and skill to complete this step.

4. Kill 250 Enemies in Strikes Using a Hand Canon

This step is pretty straightforward. Just hop into any Strike in the game and use a Hand Canon to blast through all enemies you encounter. You’ll probably have to play through a few Strikes to complete this step, but it doesn’t require much in the way of skill.

5. Get 25 Precision Hand Canon Kills in the Crucible

And now we come to another challenging step in the quest to complete Cayde’s Will. For this one, you can play any Crucible matches you want. All you have to do is get precision kills using a hand canon. That means you’ll have to aim carefully to make sure you’re getting headshots, because body-shot kills don’t count here.

I found Rumble to be a good Crucible mode for this step, because it’s a free-for-all. With no teammates to worry about, every player you encounter is a potential notch toward completing this step. So aim for the head, get the kill, wash, rinse, and repeat.

6. Find Cayde’s Personal Stashes

Before he died, Cayde hid some stashes all around the solar system. You’ll need to travel to Io, Nessus, Tangled Shore, and EDZ to collect all four. The problem is, they’re pretty well hidden. Here’s the general idea where you’ll find them.

  • Io — Land in the Lost Oasis and make your way into the Wraith Mines.
  • Nessus — Land in Exodus Black and head to the Sunken Cavern.
  • EDZ — Land in the Sunken Isles and go to Legion’s Anchor.
  • Tangled Shore — Drop in at Thieves’ Landing and travel to Hellrise Canyon.

If you’re having trouble finding any of the stashes, it helps to watch a YouTube guide like the one above for exact directions.

7. Complete the “Ace in the Hole” Mission

The final step is to head to Titan to complete a new mission called “Ace in the Hole.” The enemy encounters in the mission aren’t too difficult, but you will need to find 10 chests Cayde has hidden in the environment. Thankfully, you’ll get a “Cayde’s Stash Nearby” notification on the left side of your screen anytime you’re near an unopened chest. Find them all, and you can breathe a sigh of relief. The grind is over.

8. Visit Banshee-44 at the Tower

Once you’ve finished the mission, head back to the Tower and talk to Banshee-44. All of your hard work pays off as he hands you a shiny, like-new Ace of Spades hand canon. And if you pre-ordered the game, you should have Cayde’s Stash, which includes a nice red-and-black ornament for the weapon.

iOS 12 Is Out, Here Are the Coolest New Features

Be sure to visit IGN Tech for all the latest comprehensive hands-on reviews and best-of roundups.

iOS 12 is now available for download, and it offers a lot of useful improvements to iPhones old and new. Here are some of the coolest new features you’ll see in today’s free update.

Faster Performance, Even on Older Devices

Unlike past iOS releases, which were only available for a few generations of phones, iOS 12 is available for devices going all the way back to the iPhone 5s and the iPad Mini 2. This is because its banner feature is performance, particularly when under heavy load. Apple is claiming that after you install iOS 12 you’ll see: up to 40% faster app launch, 50% faster keyboard display, and 70% faster swipe to camera on the iPhone 6 Plus, among other improvements. We didn’t have an iPhone 5s to test at the time of publishing, but if Apple can deliver on this promise, it’s a big deal—and a big change from iOS releases in the past, which were notorious for crippling older phones.
